The Atlanta Falcons are dialing up a familiar number this offseason. In a move that surprised fans and stirred excitement across the locker room, the team is bringing back former franchise quarterback Matt Ryan, not to throw passes, but to mentor the new face of the offense, Michael Penix Jr.

Ryan, who spent 14 seasons in Atlanta and was inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor in 2024, will take on a unique advisory role. Head coach Raheem Morris confirmed the plan while speaking with NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe.

“We plan to get former quarterbacks in his ear working with him, including Matt Ryan,” Morris said. “I want to know what his arm routine is, what he’s eating, where he’s traveling, how many days he’s working out. We think this guy has so much promise.”

Atlanta isn’t wasting time handing the keys to Penix. Morris made it clear after the 2024 season that Penix is the starter moving forward, not Kirk Cousins. While questions surround Cousins’ future, the Falcons are preparing Penix to take over as their leader.

Penix, the No. 8 pick in last year’s draft, showed flashes of brilliance during his three starts. He threw for 737 yards, three touchdowns, and added a rushing score. His composure and playmaking drew praise, despite the Falcons going 1-2 in those outings. “I’m definitely going to take stuff from what happened these past three weeks and find ways to get better,” Penix said after the season finale.

That’s where Ryan’s role comes in. Morris wants Penix surrounded by voices who’ve been through the grind. “Try to hook him up with people to talk to about what they’ve done in their past, whether that be Matt Ryan, whether that be his coaches,” Morris said.

During his career, Ryan worked with four offensive coordinators and learned to adjust. His most notable leap came before the 2016 season when his offseason work translated into an MVP campaign. Now, he’s ready to share his experience with a young quarterback aiming to make a similar leap.

During an appearance on The Mike Keith Show, Gruden said that he had ‘serious talks’ with Tennessee during a previous coaching search.

Gruden, who served as a graduate assistant at Tennessee in 1986 and 1987, joined The Mike Keith Show last week that he’d love to return to UT as a graduate assistant under current Vols head coach Josh Heupel.

“I got to visit with Coach Heupel and meet his wife last night, maybe I can come back here and be a GA (graduate assistant) all over again,” said Gruden. “That’s the job I want.”

From 1989 to 2015, country music superstar Reba McEntire was married to her former bandmate and manager Narvel Blackstock. And while 26 years is certainly an impressive run, especially in the world of often brief celebrity marriages, the sad truth about McEntire’s marriage to Blackstock is that there were always some telltale signs it was never going to last.

For starters, McEntire’s relationship with Blackstock got off on kind of an awkward foot, and the “Fancy” singer found herself stuck in a bit of a love triangle with Blackstock and her first husband, Charlie Battles, to whom she was married from 1976 to 1987. In her 1995 autobiography “Reba: My Story,” McEntire recalled that, being a married woman, she had no interest in Blackstock when they first met in 1980. Over time, though, McEntire’s relationship with Battles began to break down, while Blackstock became far more involved in the country star’s life and career.

Blackstock offered his own perspective on the matter in McEntire’s book. “It was awkward because Charlie and I had been buddies,” he wrote. However, McEntire herself maintained that her decision to end things with Battles had nothing to do with anything that may have been blossoming between her and Blackstock. “I had to tell Narvel straight out, ‘This is what I wanted to do with my life, for myself. I didn’t divorce Charlie because of you,’” the singer explained in her memoir. Still, McEntire and Blackstock’s romance undeniably had a complicated beginning, which clearly weighed on him for a time.

Another sign Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock’s marriage wasn’t necessarily built to last was the fact that, as previously mentioned, Blackstock was McEntire’s manager and business partner in addition to being her spouse. And nearly a decade after her divorce from Blackstock, McEntire confessed that romance often took a backseat to business over the course of their decades-long relationship.

“I think it works for some people — they can be married, or have a relationship, and work together. Our work was all the time,” McEntire said on “The Drew Barrymore Show” in 2024, elaborating, “Our marriage was 26 years. We started out working together in the band — he was part of the band, and then became my manager later on, then my husband. But it was a situation of– it was always business. Fortunately, McEntire seems to have found that all-important balance with new beau Rex Linn. Linn and McEntire have made it clear that they love working together — though, to be fair, their professional relationship is simply that of TV co-stars, as opposed to the manager-client relationship McEntire had with her ex-husband. “He’s wonderful, helps me a lot,” McEntire said of Linn in a May 2024 interview with Extra TV.

McEntire’s “look back at some of my favorite memories from hosting the show” arrives as the beloved country legend gets ready to host the monumental 60th ACM Awards next month. This year’s show will mark McEntire’s 18th time hosting, which is more than any other artist. The 16-time ACM winner, who recently celebrated her 70th birthday, said in an announcement last summer that the 60th annual event is “gonna be an absolute can’t-miss show, and I can’t wait to be there with you.” The ACMs will take place again at the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

“Reba McEntire has hosted more ACM Awards shows than any other artist in history, and after her triumphant return this year for the 59th show, there is clearly no one better suited to helm this milestone show!” Academy of Country Music CEO Damon Whiteside said in a previous statement. “Our landmark 50th anniversary show in 2015 marked our debut in Texas, and we’re thrilled to return again to celebrate another major moment in ACM history. We look forward to seeing our industry, artists, and fans celebrate in Frisco, Texas next May for an unforgettable week!”

Clark, an All-Star and All-WNBA First-Team selection in year 1, was also the league’s Rookie of the Year in 2024. The Fever star made a name for herself while with the Iowa Hawkeyes, where she became the all-time NCAA leading scorer in both the men’s and women’s games before moving up to the pros.

Known for her insane long-distance shooting, Clark requires defenses to step up to her as soon as she crosses the halfway line.

But the 23-year-old couldn’t even be contained while practicing against a team of men while in college.

And it doesn’t appear that Clark felt the slightest amount of pressure in that notable scrimmage. She was lights out from beyond the arc and reportedly scored 22 points in just two minutes.

The video featuring the above recently resurfaced online, thanks to Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy, who’s a huge Caitlin Clark fan.

One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.

He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.

He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.

That turned out to be the case for a particular dude, likely a TikToker, who bumped into WNBA star Kelsey Plum and had a random chat during which he learned a bit about her.

The video below shows the guy approaching Plum and asking whether she’s famous because he’d just seen people posing for photos with her. Plum, a legit celebrity, takes the modest route, complimenting the dude on his outfit before showing him her Instagram.

Social media loved how down-to-earth Kelsey Plum was, having taken her time to answer questions from a total stranger and inviting him to hang with her and her friend while they waited for an Uber.

“She said chill with us until our uber arrives,” an X user commented.

Jimmy Butler has the internet believing he might be trying to hook up with new Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink.

There’s a video of the rookie basically letting fans know she fancies the Miami Heat star as she picks him over most of the big names in the NBA.

It does appear that Brink has the hots for the six-time All-Star, and he wasted no time meeting her, pulling up courtside to greet and embrace her after she played the Dallas Wings on Friday.

The clip below shows Brink somewhat shooting her shot at Jimmy before he shows up to her game wearing her No. 22 jersey.

“Yeah she may be with a white dude now but we know she likes chocolate,” wrote another.

Jimmy Butler Appeared To Drop A Massive Hint About His Future

Jimmy Butler is involved in a contract dispute with the Miami Heat at the moment and could end up being traded during the offseason. The forward appeared to send a message to his team while at the game.

“For some reason, the No. 22 looks good in purple and gold,” he said in an interview.

Butler also wears No. 22, which suggests he’s thinking of playing for the Los Angeles Lakers.

We have to assume Brink would love that.
