During her Cry Pretty Tour 360 in 2019, Carrie Underwood gave fans something unforgettable at every stop. But when the tour rolled into her home state of Oklahoma, the crowd in Tulsa got a surprise no one saw coming — and it came straight from Carrie’s own family.

🏆 A Tour Full of Champions

Before the tour kicked off, Carrie asked her fans to send in videos of themselves performing the iconic Ludacris rap verse in her hit song “The Champion.” From there, she selected one lucky fan from each tour stop to join her live on stage for the rap segment — a gesture that not only celebrated her fanbase but brought extra excitement to every show.

Throughout the tour, audiences witnessed incredible talent from fans across the country. But none of those special appearances hit quite like the one on October 24, 2019, when Carrie performed in Tulsa and brought up her biggest fan ever — her mom, Carole.

🎶 From “Mama’s Song” to Rap Queen

Carrie’s fans may recognize Carole Underwood from the heartfelt music video for “Mama’s Song,” where she starred alongside Carrie and Carrie’s husband Mike Fisher. In that video, Carole showed off her acting chops — but this time, she surprised everyone by taking on something totally different: rapping.

That’s right — when it came time for Ludacris’ verse in “The Champion,” Carrie turned to her mom to deliver it. And Carole did not disappoint.

🤯 The Crowd Reaction? Absolutely Wild!

The moment Carrie introduced her mom on stage, the audience went crazy with applause. Then, without skipping a beat, Carole launched into Ludacris’ verse with confidence and flow, while Carrie danced around her, occasionally jumping in to hype up the crowd.

Carrie later shared the iconic moment on Instagram, captioning the video with:
“Who knew Mom could rap?! I kept trying to keep her on track!”

She added that after the performance, her mom sweetly asked, “Did I do OK?” To which Carrie — and thousands of screaming fans — would no doubt say: Absolutely!

    💕 A Moment They’ll Never Forget

After her rap debut, Carole remained on stage with her daughter to help finish singing “The Champion.” It was a once-in-a-lifetime mother-daughter performance filled with love, fun, and unforgettable energy. Moments like these remind us why Carrie Underwood isn’t just a country music icon — she’s also a devoted daughter who loves sharing the spotlight with the people who’ve supported her from the very beginning.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering the heart behind Carrie’s performances, this moment with her mom is a must-watch. The joy, the surprise, and the applause speak for themselves.

“This Is About Her Son”: Vince Gill Honors His 100-Year-Old Mother with Tearful Tribute at Opry 100

The Grand Ole Opry’s 100th anniversary was packed with unforgettable performances, but none touched hearts quite like Vince Gill’s emotional rendition of “Go Rest High on That Mountain.” On March 19, 2025, during the special televised celebration of the Opry’s centennial, Gill took the stage and delivered a moment that fans — and fellow artists — will never forget.

    “This is about her son…”

Before strumming the first chord, Vince paused, his voice filled with emotion. He turned to the audience and said:

“I want you to think about someone you’ve lost. This one is for my mother — she turns 100 this year. This is about her son.”

In just a few words, he set the stage for a deeply personal and soul-stirring tribute, and as the music began, the atmosphere in the room shifted — quiet, reverent, and heavy with meaning.

A Song Rooted in Grief and Love

“Go Rest High on That Mountain” has long been one of country music’s most beloved anthems of loss and remembrance. Gill began writing the song after the death of his friend Keith Whitley in 1989, but only finished it years later after losing his own brother, Bob Gill, in 1993.

The lyrics, filled with grace and grief, took on new weight in this performance — this time sung for his centenarian mother, who has endured the unthinkable: the loss of her son.

🎶 A Trio That Moved the Nation

Vince was joined by fellow Opry legends Ricky Skaggs and Sonya Isaacs, whose harmonies elevated the performance to something sacred. Their voices blended beautifully, amplifying the emotion in every line. The song also served as the soundtrack to the evening’s “In Memoriam” segment, paying tribute to past Opry members who had passed on — making the performance even more powerful.

The audience sat in silence, visibly moved. And when the final note rang out, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

More Than Music — A Legacy of Heart

Vince Gill’s relationship with the Opry is rooted in more than music. Since his debut in 1989 and official induction in 1991, he’s not only graced its stage countless times — he’s mentored others, supported younger artists, and carried the spirit of the Opry forward with humility and heart.

In fact, when offered his very first Opry appearance, Gill declined — because he had promised to play guitar at his daughter Jenny’s elementary school talent show. That moment, small to some, speaks volumes about who Vince Gill truly is: a man of integrity, family, and unwavering love.

A Defining Moment in Opry History

At Opry 100, Vince Gill gave more than a performance — he gave a piece of his heart. His tribute to his mother and late brother reminded everyone watching why country music matters: it tells our stories, it honors our pain, and it brings us together in moments that matter most.

    It wasn’t just a song.
It was a legacy, a prayer, a thank-you — wrapped in melody and truth.

And that, more than anything, is what made it the most unforgettable moment of the night.

Alan Jackson’s Wild Texas Show Cut Short After Encouraging Fans to Climb Fences

Alan Jackson brought pure country energy to the Two Step Inn music festival in Georgetown, Texas, on Saturday night (April 5), headlining the first night of the two-day event in front of a packed crowd. This show marked Jackson’s debut — and likely his last appearance — at the famed Texas festival, as the country legend nears retirement.

But what started as a classic night of music quickly turned into one of the most unforgettable moments of the tour.

Alan Jackson Sparks Crowd Frenzy During “Good Time”

While performing his 2008 hit “Good Time,” Alan surprised everyone by encouraging fans to break through barriers. “Climb over them fences and dance up and down these aisles,” he said. “I don’t care. Let’s have a good time.”

Fans hesitated at first, but Alan kept the energy going. “Come on, y’all! Let’s have a good time!” he repeated. As audience members began leaping barricades and gathering closer to the stage, event organizers responded quickly—cutting Jackson’s microphone and halting the show.

A brief pause followed, lasting about 5 to 7 minutes, as security cleared the restricted area. Alan eventually returned to the stage to apologize, telling the audience, “Sorry, y’all. I was just wantin’ to have a good time.”

Fans Defend Alan Jackson’s Crowd Plea

Though the shutdown dampened the atmosphere briefly, fans quickly took to social media to defend Jackson.

“The 5-minute pause really ruined the show. If no one is getting hurt, then just let them be.”

“Most disrespectful buzzkill I’ve ever seen cutting Alan off.”

“If Alan says it’s not a security issue, it ain’t a security issue.”

Many called out the festival organizers for pausing one of Alan’s final performances in Texas, calling it a “bad look” and an unnecessary disruption.

Sweet Moment: Alan Dances with His Wife On Stage

Despite the brief chaos, one of the night’s most heartwarming highlights came when Alan invited his wife of 45 years, Denise Jackson, on stage during his performance of “Remember When.”

Alan paused the music, asked his band to keep playing, and pulled Denise into a tender slow dance in front of the crowd. The two shared a kiss as fans cheered, and Alan resumed the song, making it a night to remember.

    Watch on TikTok

Denise has been a quiet force behind Alan’s success, traveling with him during his farewell tour and often watching from the audience. Alan has long credited her for his success, both professionally and personally.

    A Farewell Worth Remembering

Alan Jackson’s Last Call: One More For The Road Tour is coming to an end with just two stops remaining:

    Tampa, FL – April 26
    Milwaukee, WI – May 17

This wild Texas show will surely go down in country music history as a moment where tradition met rebellion—and where love, music, and fans collided for one unforgettable night.

  • Sophie Cunningham Makes Strong Claim About Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever

Sophie Cunningham Makes Strong Claim About Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever

    Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham

WNBA guard Sophie Cunningham has become quite a star on and off the hardwood over the past year.

Cunningham has been with the Phoenix Mercury since 2019. In January, however, she was traded to the Indiana Fever in a deal that also involved the Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings. That move surprised the fan base in Phoenix considering she signed a contract extension last September.

Although it’ll be a new setting for Cunningham, she’s ready to show what she can do for the Fever. During the 2024 season, she averaged 8.4 points per game on 37.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Indiana would gladly take that production this upcoming season.

Off the court, Cunningham has gained thousands of fans due to her unapologetic personality and eye-popping wardrobe. With the Fever’s season opener slowly but surely approaching, it won’t be long before she gets to show off her pregame outfits.

We caught up with Cunningham to talk about her partnership with Quest Nutrition, her upcoming season with the Fever and much more.

The Spun: Can you tell us about your partnership with Quest Nutrition and what you’ve got going on for the NCAA Tournament?

Sophie Cunningham: I’m really excited. I think this tournament has been so much fun. This is a year for new opportunity. Quest allowed me to make espresso martinis at New York City’s Stumble Inn. I played in the tournament forever, but now I get to be a fan and bring some spunk to it. We want to support the game while also supporting Quest. They’re a great company that’s all about empowering women and great things.

The Spun: You’ve been with Phoenix since 2019. Do you think it’ll be difficult adjusting to a change of scenery?

Sophie Cunningham: I’m from the Midwest. I was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri. I miss the people there. Coming back home and coming closer to home is great. I’m excited for the basketball aspect of it. I thrive in a motion offense. I thrive in a run-and-gun offense. As a shooter and slasher, that’s a dream. On the court, I’m super excited. Off the court, it’s a great opportunity for me to get back my roots and give back to the community. My people will be able to come and support my games since I’m not 24 hours away from them. As a whole, it just makes a lot of sense. At the end of the day, I want to win championships and I think we’re going to do that.

The Spun: Indiana has really loaded up on experience this offseason. With the roster being pretty deep, how do you find your role on the Fever?

Sophie Cunningham: When you’re a pro, it’s all about adjusting. If you can’t do that, you won’t be in the league for long. It’s all about building that chemistry and rhythm. Once you find that, you’ll know your role. When you have people willing to put their egos aside, I think it’s quite easy to settle in. I can shoot the ball well, but what I need to do is work hard and be myself.

    Ron Hoskins/Getty Images

The Spun: The Fever will be featured in WNBA record 41 nationally-televised games. What does that say about this team and the state of the league?

Sophie Cunningham: I’m not surprised. I think Caitlin [Clark] has played a huge part in that – I’m not taking anything away from her. She has done a phenomenal job of carrying everything around her at such a young age while remaining who she is. I think we’re the hottest team right now in women’s sports. I think it’s just basketball at the end of the day, so we need to make sure everyone is on the same page.

The Spun: You went viral for your pregame outfits last season. Do you have any plans for this upcoming season?

Sophie Cunningham: I do plan ahead, so my outfits are going to be fun and spicy. We have a lot of eyes on our game. I’ll continue to grow my brand with the platform I’ve been given. I’m proud to represent companies like Quest. So when I’m coming in with spicy outfits, I’m sure Quest will be represented in a couple of them.

Stephen A. Smith is not letting a chance go away to blast LeBron James, not even a single one.

The sports analyst has been in a back-and-forth with the Los Angeles Lakers superstar for a bit longer. Smith didn’t like it about LeBron’s son, Bronny James, and went on to blast the youngster on his show.

However, James was noticing everything. So when he got the opportunity to have a man to man discussion with Stephen A. he did. During the March 6 Lakers vs. Knicks game, LeBron went viral for confronting Smith and even what he said spread like a wildfire, thanks to the lip readers.

Recently, LeBron went on the Pat McAfee and addressed how Smith missed the point of not crossing the line.

“He completely missed the whole point, never would I ever not allow people to criticize players about what they do on the court. That’s your job to criticize or to be in a position if a guy is not performing, that’s all part of the game, but when you take it and get personal with it, it’s my job to not only protect my damn household, and to protect my players,” LeBron said.

However, it did not take the analyst to make it all up for his next episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show. He went as far as to claim he could have swung at LeBron had he tried to put his hands on him.

“I just want to say for the record, LeBron James is full of it, and in this particular instance as it pertains to his son, he is a liar, and he went on national television, and he lied again…I would have gotten my a** kicked, because if that man had put his hands on me, I would have immediately swung on him. Immediately,” he said.

LeBron James is keeping things lively on social media. After leading the Lakers to a nail-biting win against the Indiana Pacers, he went back on Stephen A.

Following his clutch game-winning basket, he decided to have a little fun at the expense of the ESPN analyst. LeBron posted a video of Smith’s boxing workout on Instagram, though he was throwing weak punches, to be honest.

“WHOMP WHOMP WHOMPPPPPPPP,” LeBron captioned his post.

However, it did not stop the social media war though. Stephen A. went back to the twitter war and clarified what he exactly meant when he said he would have swung at LeBron. According to him, it was taken a little too out of context. Either ways, Stephen A. Smith will be cooking something for his next move, who knows.

VIDEO: Some Dude Just Dropped The Cold Hard Truth On Why All Of These NFL Prospects Are “Dating White Women”

    Caleb Williams at NFL Draft

Unless this is your first day in America, then you know race relations in this country dominate just everything, and that includes NBA and NFL drafts

During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.

The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.

This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.

One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.

He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.

He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.

Lawrence and his wife Marissa are already enjoying their off-season after his new deal and decided to do it in a big way with their latest trip, bringing family along with them.

On Saturday, Marissa took to her Instagram account, where she has over 339,000 followers, and posted several pictures of their vacation by the beach.

The first picture shows Trevor Lawrence holding Marissa from behind while they are on the beach. The second photo shows Marissa in a white outfit kissing Trevor on the cheek as they stand out on the beach.

The third snap was a full family picture that featured eight others, with two children included. The fourth picture was Marissa Lawrence posing with the rest of the ladies on the trip.

The spiciest picture showed Trevor Lawrence shirtless in leopard print swim shorts as Marissa rocked a yellow two-piece bikini.

The couple, who are high school sweethearts, celebrated their third wedding anniversary in April.

They tied the knot in 2021, just days before the NFL draft.

Jacksonville Jaguars Quarterback Trevor Lawrence Signed Massive New Extension

Last week, the Jacksonville Jaguars shocked everybody when they and Trevor Lawrence agreed to a massive five-year contract extension worth $275 million, with $200 million of it guaranteed.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, his deal also includes $142 million at signing. The deal is the third-largest amount of fully guaranteed money in NFL history.

“It does feel good to have it done,” Lawrence said, per ESPN. “That was a goal that [the Jaguars] and myself and my team wanted to get done is to have it finished by the time training camp came around so we could just put everything towards this year and getting ready to go bring a championship here.”

The Jaguars are now hoping that the team can rebound from the choke job they had last year when they started the year 8-3 and failed to qualify for the postseason.

Notre Dame Star Hannah Hidalgo Finally Breaks Her Silence About Homophobic Social Media Post That Received Tons Of Backlash From Teammates, Coaches & Fans

Hannah Hidalgo (Photo By MICHAEL CLUBB/SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images)
For months, Hannah Hidalgo kept quiet. The Notre Dame basketball star, known for her flashy handles and fearless scoring, had been at the center of a storm- and she didn’t say a word. That changed this weekend.

Hidalgo finally spoke out about the controversial Instagram repost that sparked outrage across the women’s basketball world and may have played a part in a sudden wave of transfers from the Fighting Irish program.

In a heartfelt letter published in The Players’ Tribune, the 20-year-old owned up to what she called a “mistake,” opened up about the emotional toll it took, and made it clear: she’s not who many made her out to be.

    Long-Awaited Response From Hidalgo

Notre Dame guard Hannah Hidalgo (Photo By MICHAEL CLUBB/SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images)
The controversy traces back to July 2024, when Hidalgo shared a video clip featuring Candace Owens telling Don Lemon that homosexuality is a “sin” and marriage should only be between a man and a woman. The reaction was swift. Many of Hidalgo’s peers, including LGBTQ+ teammates, felt hurt.

Former Notre Dame head coach Muffet McGraw didn’t hold back, calling the repost “insulting to her teammates” and saying she wa“really disappointed that it came out that way.” Hidalgo said nothing until now.

“You know the post I’m talking about,” she wrote, acknowledging the silence and the weight of her actions. “I had this new responsibility, and I’d let people down… maybe even hurt people I care about.”

She emphasized that the message didn’t reflect her beliefs“I am not homophobic — I love all people, and believe we all deserve to exist authentically,” she said, adding that the experience led to personal growth and hard conversations with friends she feared she had hurt.

Meanwhile, star point guard Olivia Miles entered the transfer portal last week and seemingly referenced the drama. “Can’t treat people bad then hide behind religion,” she wrote, a pointed message that left little doubt about where she stood.

Hannah Hidalgo’s apology won’t fix everything overnight. But it’s a step. Whether it helps heal a fractured locker room or clears a path for reconciliation- time will tell.

Sean Taylor’s daughter, Jackie Taylor, was unable to hold back the tears while sharing her feelings on how she believed her dad would have influenced her life and career.

Taylor, the victim of a brutal murder in 2007, left behind a daughter who’s been forced to live with reminders of what could have been.

An athletic specimen herself, the 18-year-old stands at 6ft 1in and plays volleyball for UNC.

She reckons her late father would have had a telling impact on her life had he still been around, claiming as much during an interview on ‘The Pivot Podcast‘ this week.

“He would’ve been such a changemaker beyond the football field. He would’ve changed my perspective in life,” she remarked.

While Jackie wants to make a name for herself outside of her dad’s still-looming shadow, she pays tribute through every facet of her game.

Jackie Taylor didn’t start playing sports until she was 14, having admitted that she was a clumsy kid. However, she was able to fashion a formidable athlete out of herself, leading Gulliver prep to a first-ever volleyball state championship, following in her father’s footsteps, with Sean Taylor doing the same for the high school’s football program.

The teenager, who wears her father’s iconic No. 21, got the helmet he wore when he won the Florida state high school championship back in 2000  from her mom while celebrating her volleyball achievement at a restaurant.

“I really work hard to strive to continue his legacy – to continue my legacy – be a change for young women,” she said.

May he continue to rest in peace.
