Donald Trump’s mission to rid the United States of foreign criminal elements has seen former NBA superstar Michael Jordan strangely dragged into an unwanted spot.

Since returning to office, the President has gone on a deportation rampage, seeing numerous residents off to their countries of origin.

As such, a Venezuelan gang referred to as Tren de Aragua (TdA) has been listed as an “alien enemy” by the Trump Administration, with 20 categories being placed on a checklist to help immigration officials determine whether nationals of the South American country belong to the group.

Various tattoos, including AK-47s and the “Real Hasta La Muerte” quote, have been identified as some of those worn by TdA members. Quite surprisingly, Jordan’s Jumpman logo has also been added to the “Alien Enemy Validation Guide” where it pertains to said gang.

The logo is not the only thing under scrutiny. Chicago Bulls jerseys, specifically Jordan’s No. 23, as well as Jordan and Jumpman sneakers, have also been deemed as identifiers of TdA gang members.

The Jordan Brand is part of Nike’s footwear and clothing lineup and has been the most profitable for the company since it inked a deal with the six-time NBA champion nearly 40 years ago, so they probably aren’t happy about the logo appearing on such a list.

The company had not replied to a request for comment from the Daily Mail at the time of writing.

During the most recent NFL Draft in Detroit, social media was buzzing as athletes showed up to the red carpet event with their girlfriends and family. Many of the incoming NFL rookies were African-American and were spotted with white women, which has become the usual theme for years.

The same thing happens with the NBA Draft.

This year, the discourse on the NFL Draft and NBA Draft has gotten even louder as African-American women openly pondered why so many of the players never have a partner that is the same race as them.

 

 

One guy on TikTok decided to answer that question by revealing that the vast majority of his division-1 friends in college or headed to the league are dating or married to white women and explained why.

He stated that some of them had told him that their white girlfriend looked up to Taylor Swift while their girlfriend looked up to Megan The Stallion. He then states the guy asks how many white women he has seen doing the Megan Thee Stallion challenge as opposed to Black women.

He then dove into another story of a friend who relayed that his Black girlfriend started to request money from him as soon as she found out about his NIL money. She wanted her hair and nails done. He then added that the Black women would be upset if they went to places like Chipotle, and she demanded steak houses.

 

 

 

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has proven once again that she’s all class.

On Friday night, South Carolina defeated Texas to punch its ticket in the national championship game for the second straight year. A few hours later, UConn dismantled UCLA thanks to standout performances from Sarah Strong, Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers.

With the national championship game set for this Sunday afternoon, ESPN announced that Clark will be part of the network’s coverage. The NCAA’s all-time leading scorer has carved out time in her busy schedule to make an appearance on “The Bird & Taurasi Show.”

During last year’s Final Four, basketball legend Diana Taurasi told Clark that “reality is coming” when she makes it to the WNBA.

“Reality is coming, there’s levels to this thing,” Taurasi said. “And that’s just life, we all went through it. You look superhuman playing against some 18-year-olds but you’re going to come [play] with some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time.”

Despite everything that’s been said in the past, Clark is more than willing to sit down and talk hoops with Bird and Taurasi.

Clark was actually trending during the Final Four games on Friday night. That’s because she stopped South Carolina and UConn from getting to the national title game in her final two years of college basketball, respectively.

“I was so spoiled with Caitlin the last 2 years I didn’t realize teams could play at such a low level this far in the tournament,” one fan tweeted.

Another fan said, “Somebody tweet Diana Taurasi & tell her, does she see now why Caitlin Clark is probably the #1 college talent we’ve ever seen? She beat that South Carolina team and her 2nd best player wasn’t anywhere near what Texas had. She beat that UConn team and her 2nd best wasn’t near UConn’s.”

“IOWA beat both these teams in the Final Four in consecutive years,” a third fan wrote. “Do not ever talk to me again about Caitlin Clark being anything less than the greatest dragon slayer of all-time.”

If we had to guess, fans will be fired up to see Clark on “The Bird & Taurasi Show.”

Sunday’s national title game will tip off at 3 p.m. ET.

Last year, Kate Martin had the basketball world buzzing when she went public with her relationship with Claire Gransee.

A selfie of Martin and Gransee made the rounds on social media, sparking speculation about their romance. One TikTok user shared that photo along with this caption: “I can’t even be upset if that’s Kate Martin’s girlfriend because she is literally gorgeous stunning beautiful perfect.” The former Iowa star decided to address the rumors by replying, “She is gorgeous, stunning & perfect, I can’t lie.”

Martin has been fairly quiet about her relationship since that moment. However, Gransee did confirm they’re still together by making an appearance at a playoff game for the Las Vegas Aces.

Fast forward to this April, and Martin has decided to show some love to her girlfriend on social media. She posted a few heartwarming photos on Instagram in honor of Gransee’s birthday.

“Taking a break from sponsored posts to wish my fav person a happy birthday! 23 looks good on you,” Martin wrote. “Happy birthday.”

This post from Martin has gone viral, receiving over 37,000 likes in less than an hour.

Gransee had a short but sweet response to this post. She wrote, “I love you!! the most.”

It’s unclear if we’ll see Gransee at Martin’s WNBA games this upcoming season.

Martin was selected by the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA expansion draft last December. She should take on a large role since she’s not on a loaded team like the Aces.

“It’s a pretty cool opportunity. I feel really grateful to be a part of it. It’s a part of history, a new WNBA team,” Martin said. “They haven’t had an expansion draft in a really long time. It’s something super cool to be a part of, and I feel really grateful that they chose me. It’s just going to be a lot of fun. Obviously they’re going to be aggressive, and we’re going to have more people added. That makes it really fun, seeing the roster come together and what it’s going to be, how training camp is going to look.”

The Valkyries will begin their 2025 season on May 16 against the Los Angeles Sparks.

NFL stars aren’t the only ones interested in representing the United States in the 2028 Summer Olympics when Flag Football is introduced as a sport for the first time. WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark has floated the idea of trying out for the team too.

Clark was at the recent NFL Annual League Meeting where she detailed her love of football growing up. At one point, she mused that she might even try out for the flag football team at 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles and compete in two sports

“Maybe LA 2028, maybe I’ll do two sports,” Clark said. “Or if basketball doesn’t work out, I’ll head over to flag football.”

Well, people naturally got curious to see if it was even possible for Clark to do something like. TMZ Sports did an interview with USA Football CEO and Executive Director Scott Hallenbeck, where he made it clear that Clark can get her chance – if she tries out like everyone else does.

“USA Football is going to assemble the best possible team for the Los Angeles Olympics, and crossover athletes have already proven they can compete in flag at the highest levels,” Hallenbeck said.

“That said, there’s a process, and each player will have to earn their spot for LA28.”

Most Americans aren’t even aware that the United States has a national flag football team, or even a national gridiron football team. So there’s a perception that NFL players would easily step in and dominate right away.

But while that may be true, NFL teams will be loathe to let their star players put themselves at risk during the height of the NFL offseason even if it is for national pride.

That would certainly open the door for people from all walks of life with any skill or experience in flag football to make a name for themselves in America’s biggest sport.

Caitlin Clark could be among them if she really wants to be a multi-sport athlete. She’s already doing her best to improve her golf game outside of basketball.

And after missing the Olympics this past summer, maybe she wants a second medal to make up for the one she should’ve won.

UConn star Paige Bueckers was loving her former teammate Nika Muhl’s pregame outfit on Wednesday night.

Bueckers was very supportive of her Huskies teammates who went to the WNBA Draft last month and continues to show support as she heads into another year in college with two years of eligibility left.

She took to Twitter/X to talk up Muhl’s outfit ahead of her regular season debut this Wednesday.

Muhl wore a t-shirt featuring an approved visa as she made fun of the visa situation that prevented her from making her debut in the Storm’s opener and playing in their first four games.

As it happened, she got her first taste of WNBA action against Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever, having earned praise for locking the latter down during their NCAA Tournament clash earlier this year.

Clark went on to lose the matchup, which marked a worrying 0-5 start for her in the pros. But Nika didn’t get much time on the floor as she only played for three minutes, hauling two rebounds.

Nika Muhl Could Be One To Watch In The WNBA

Nika Muhl burst onto the scene during March Madness this year, and her popularity soared ahead of the draft.

The Storm selected her in the second round, making her one of two UConn players drafted as Aaliyah Edwards went to the Washington Mystics at No. 6 overall.

Seattle won its second game of the season, going 2-3, on Wednesday night. Muhl’s fans would have been pleased to see her in action, albeit minimal, in her first professional game.

After 13-year-old Jamie (Cooper) is arrested for the murd3r of Katie, a female classmate, his parents, Eddie (Graham) and Manda (Tremarco), are forced to reckon with the severity of their son’s alleged crime and what role they may have played in his behavior.

The limited series unfolds in real time over four hour-long episodes, with a single camera shot chronicling Jamie’s arrest, police investigating at his school, his tense interview with a court-appointed psychologist, and his family coping with the fallout.

Did Jamie really kill Katie?

Though he asserts his innocence throughout the majority of the series, evidence strongly suggests that, yes, Jamie did kill Katie.

For one, there is a damning CCTV video of the stabbing that Eddie watches with Jamie in episode 1. In episode 3, meanwhile, Jamie seems to accidentally admit to the attack in conversation with psychologist Briony (Doherty). After the slip, he jumps up from his chair in agitation. “I didn’t f––ing say that! You’re f––ing putting words in my mouth! It’s a f––ing trap in here!”

Why does Jamie decide to change his plea?

Though Jamie never straightforwardly admits to the murd3r, he does change his plea to “guilty” in episode 4. It’s unclear what exactly prompted the change, though he mentions the trial date was looming closer.

“In episode 4, he’s much further along on his journey than before,” co-creator and co-writer Jack Thorne told Tudum. “Jamie now knows what he’s done and what his future might be. That allows him to put his feelings in a box and close the lid on himself in some way.”

Director Philip Barantini also weighed in on Jamie’s decision and how it impacts the family, speaking about how he coached Graham and Tremarco when directing their conversation following the call with Jamie. “I told them, ‘Imagine that someone you love has been on a life support machine,” he said. “You’ve been hoping and praying that they stay alive. Then, in this moment, the doctor finally tells you, ‘There’s nothing else we can do, and we’re going to switch the machine off.’ That’s what Jamie pleading guilty is for the Millers.”

When Jamie calls Eddie with the news, he repeatedly says he’s sorry. Ostensibly, he’s apologizing for changing his plea, but the emotion in his voice can be interpreted as him admitting his guilt. The apology, then, could also be for the many times he lied to his dad’s face about his innocence, and moreover for murd3ring Katie and the harm he’s caused to his family.

How did the “manosphere” cause Jamie to kill Katie?

We get a great deal of insight into Jamie’s mindset and the motives for his alleged crime when he speaks with Briony in episode 3. Many revelations align with rhetoric perpetuated by the “manosphere,” a host of websites, influencers, and blogs that promote misogyny and male supremacy, per the Center for Countering Digital Hate.

Jamie, especially, uses language that aligns with the “incel” community, an online hub of men who describe themselves as “involuntary celibate” and blame women for their struggles to establish romantic bonds. According to the Anti-Defamation League, a common point of grievance among incels is that 80% of women are attracted to just 20% of men, a sentiment that arises on several occasions in the series. Subscribing to this ideology, Jamie is convinced that he’s “ugly” and therefore has to trick girls into liking him.

Netflix’s new limited series just got even better!

The streaming platform recently released its new crime-drama Adolescence, which became an instant hit after its March 13 premiere.

Now, fans are noticing a small detail. At the end of the credits, Brad Pitt’s name is listed as an executive producer. His production company, Plan B Entertainment, was one of many involved with the new series.

“Just noticed a Brad Pitt is executive producer on #Adolescence. Is that THE Brad Pitt?” one user wrote on X. Someone else reacted: “brad pitt producing adolescence is crazy what”

“Adolescence – another Brad Pitt success,” another posted.

In an interview with Radio Times, Adolescence‘s director Philip Barantini confirmed the Hollywood legend was involved with the project, saying: “Brad was on the phone with us and he was so enthusiastic.”

Adolescence is a limited series that follows a 13-year-old boy named Jamie Miller, played by Owen Cooper, who is accused of murdering a teenage girl in his class. The heart-wrenching story is told in four episodes, and each was filmed in a single shot, adding to the deliberately tense experience for the viewer.

“When Phil told me about the one-shot thing, I thought he was just talking about like one episode, or one-quarter of an episode,” Cooper told Variety in a recent interview. “But then he said all four episodes are being shot in one take. And I immediately thought I’d never, ever be able to do this.”

He added that “everyone helped me through it,” including director Barantini and his costars Erin Doherty, Ashley Walters and Stephen Graham.

“So I’d definitely do one shot again,” Cooper shared, and Barantini interjected, “He could do it in his sleep again.”

Since its premiere earlier this month, Adolescence was described by The Guardian as one of the “most terrifying TV shows of our time.” In just four days, the series has garnered 24.3 million views, making it Netflix’s top show for the week of March 10-16, per Variety.

Cooper’s performance has been particularly applauded given that this is his first onscreen acting gig ever.

“Everyone’s been saying such nice things,” Cooper revealed. “My agent has seen it and she said it was really good. I don’t know what it is, but I don’t really watch it like I’m watching a normal show. I just watch it because I’m in it.”

“I only really wanted to start acting a couple of years ago. It’s not been long,” he continued. “I grew up wanting to be a footballer. I don’t know what it was that made me want to do it, but I just wanted to do it. And then I went to lessons and enjoyed it.”
