‘Utterly Disgraceful!’ This Morning Viewers Explode With Fury Over Rishi Sunak’s Interview With Wife As Complaints Flood In

    One viewer called it ‘diabolical’

This Morning viewers have taken to social media to complain following an interview with former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife.

The couple appeared on This Morning today (September 26), to speak about their new charity, The Richmond Project.

Rishi and his wife Akshata told Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary that their new charity aims to make maths less scary and more accessible, and thus improve people’s wellbeing.

“Anyone can be a numbers person,” Rishi explained their core message, “and it’s about giving people that confidence in their everyday lives.”

The This Morning presenters also took the opportunity to quiz the couple on some more personal topics, including how their lives had changed now that Rishi is no longer PM, and getting Rishi’s take on the current political climate.

Following a predictably evasive response on Rishi’s part, the interview took a bizarre turn as the couple were invited to play a game of Mr and Mrs, answering a set of juicy questions about their relationship, such as who had said ‘I love you’ first – Rishi, apparently – and who was most likely to win an argument, which, ironically, they couldn’t agree on.

    ‘Changed channel immediately’

All in all, viewers at home didn’t seem thrilled by Rishi Sunak’s appearance on This Morning, with many taking to social media to air their views.

“Changed channel immediately. #ThisMorning,” one person bluntly tweeted.

    “Diabolical,” someone else said.

A third person commented: “Are they trying to make them more relatable to us paupers? #ThisMorning”

“Just switched onto #ThisMorning. Uh what… has somebody put something in my drink?” tweeted a fourth, baffled viewer.

HEARTBREAKING NEWS: This Morning Star Drops Bombshell On Why Dermot And Alison Were Brutally Snubbed From Wedding Celebration

This Morning's Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary weren't invited to Nick Ferrari's wedding

This Morning’s Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary weren’t invited to Nick Ferrari’s wedding

This Morning contributor Nick Ferrari has revealed more details about his wedding to long-time partner Clare Goodwin – and given hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond a tongue-in-cheek answer for why they didn’t make the guest list.

    Article continues below

The 66-year-old married radio producer Clare, 51, in August, with Loose Women’s Myleene Klass and ex GMB star Piers Morgan attending the French ceremony. I’m A Celebrity winner Christopher Biggins officiated the big day, while Myleene played Humming Class from Italian opera Madame Butterfly on the harp.

Appearing on the show in-person for the first time since the wedding, Nick opened up about his big day, saying: “What a lucky girl she is.” However, Dermot was quick to point out that their invite never arrived.

“Congratulations on your wedding. Imagine my surprise then Alison, when I flicked through and I thought, ‘You know what, you wouldn’t be expected to be invited to Nick’s wedding,’” Dermot said.

“Imagine my surprise then when I flicked through and saw what I can only describe as the Rogues’ gallery of people who made the cut. Klass I get, Biggins on the end, Morgan on the other end,” he said, with the others laughing.

Alison asked what Piers did at the ceremony, with Nick responding: “He read a passage from the Bible on humility. Truth!” Alison responded: “I could have read from the Bible!” to which Nick said: “I know, but you were more expensive.”

“I would have done that for free,” Alison insisted. “Weddings and funerals! It looks like a beautiful day as well, sunshine and everything.”

Dermot added: “We’re fine with it. I bet the menu was amazing as well.”

Nick also opened up about the moment he fell in love with Claire, telling the This Morning stars: “Myleene played the humming chorus from Madame Butterfly because I was sitting next to her at the Royal Albert Hall when I turned to her and said, ‘I think I’m falling helplessly in love with you.’

“As the humming chorus played so Myleene learnt that. Thanks very much.”

Some viewers weren’t too impressed with the item however, with some urging the presenters to “move on” after covering the wedding on the show several times.

One viewer jested: “Has Nick got married? #thismorning.” Another vented: “Still circulating Ferrari’s wedding photos get over it! #thismorning.”

    She thought she had depression

Loose Women star Penny Lancaster has bravely opened up about her health journey in lockdown, along with how her co-stars were instrumental in her getting the treatment she needed.

She was speaking with Chris Evans on his Virgin Radio show while reflecting on her time on the Loose Women panel, and how these panellists helped her during a difficult period in her life.

“One of the other major things was when they saved my life when I thought I was going through depression in the middle of lockdown, which I think a lot of people were suffering from,” she said.

However, it was Penny’s colleagues who helped to push her in the right direction.

“But in fact it was menopause, and it was my Loose Women girls that went, ‘Darling Penny, this is not depression, this is your hormones.’ So, they’ve been with me on many a journey, and I’m so grateful for them,” she added.

Penny is currently on a media tour for her new autobiography, Someone Like Me.

‘This was my dream come true’

This week, she also appeared on Loose Women, where she discussed how she and husband Rod Stewart ended up having children.

“Rod and I were transparent from the very beginning,” she explained. “Rod’s obviously got a lot of children from different women. He was honest with me and said he was excited that we were in this relationship. But the pew has been put away. He said, ‘I really don’t want to enter into another marriage and have more children.’”

“I said, ‘Look, I’m not in that place where I want to. But I must be honest, I have to have a child. I need that in my life. So let’s just see how things go’,” she added.

Then, in 2004, Penny recounted how she and Rod were discussing the lives lost after 9/11 when he “turned around and said, ‘Let’s make a baby.’”

“That was my dream come true. It all worked out. I always knew that pushing the idea was not the right way to go.”

One Strictly Star Has Been Given Very Bad News

The first live show kicks off this Saturday on BBC One (Image: BBC)

A Strictly Come Dancing duo has been dealt a crushing blow just hours before the first live show. Last Saturday, television audiences witnessed celebrities being paired with their professional dancing partners, and tomorrow evening marks their inaugural performance on the dance floor. While nobody faces elimination this weekend, bookmakers have been releasing their forecasts for who might be first to meet their fate, and prospects look grim for Ross King and his dancing partner, Jowita Przystał.

Betway has given them 100/1 odds of being the first to depart, with Chris Robshaw trailing closely at 66/1. Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis also finds himself in perilous territory with 33/1 odds, reports The Daily Star.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale’s Lewis Cope currently stands as the bookmakers’ favourite to claim the Glitterball Trophy, partnered with Katya Jones. YouTube sensation George Clarke follows closely behind with 9/2 odds.

Dani Dyer had also been earmarked as a potential champion of the 2025 series until a rehearsal injury compelled her to withdraw from the competition this week.

The BBC released a statement from the devastated Love Island star, who disclosed she was “heartbroken” to see her Strictly adventure terminated prematurely.

“I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny,” she revealed, reports Wales Online. “I thought I had rolled my foot, but it swelled up badly over the weekend, and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.

“Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l’ve had to pull out of the show.”

She continued, “To say I’m heartbroken is the biggest understatement. I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.”

BBC Studios’ executive Sarah James added: “Dani has brought so much passion, joy, and enthusiasm to Strictly, and her partnership with Nikita was off to the most sensational start.

“Everyone on the show is incredibly sad that she’s no longer able to compete in this year’s series. We send her all our love and best wishes for a swift recovery, and we very much hope to welcome her back to the ballroom in the future.”

His Majesty was diagnosed with cancer last February and continues receiving treatment whilst fulfilling his Royal engagements.

Adil began: “Now, I have to ask, I know you talk about the royals a lot, but King Charles, how is he? You’re a pen pal of his, are you still writing?”

“Now and again,” Alan responded before revealing when he last encountered King Charles: “I went up to Balmoral to do a concert in the ballroom there for Classic FM, which went out a couple of weeks ago, which was lovely, called the Honours of Scotland,” reports Gloucestershire Live.

“So there was a concert with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in the ballroom of Balmoral, and the King and Queen were there, and the music was played for them. “.

“And he was on good form,” Alan added.

Kate interjected: “And loves his nature. So you always have a lot to natter about.”

Waterloo Road star Tilly Armatey tipped to replace Dani Dyer on Strictly

Dani Dyer’s exit from Strictly Come Dancing had the entire nation in shock as she had been one of the few tipped to make it all the way to the final. But sadly, after fracturing her ankle during rehearsals, the 29 year old daughter of renowned actor Danny Dyer, was forced to bow out of the competition while focusing on her recovery.

    Article continues below

And since news broke of her departure many names have been thrown into the hat as her replacement, namely Waterloo Road star Tillie Armatey.

When approached at a recent fashion event and asked if the rumours had some weight behind them, the 22 year old actress refused to shut down speculation.

And this has left many believing that BBC bosses have been in talks with her to become a late addition. Tillie attended the SHEIN clothing event alongside former Love Island star Shaughna Phillips, Phoebe Tomlinson and Meryl Williams. Other guests included TOWIE’s Ella Rae Wise and Dani Imbert.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Tillie confessed: “It’s all sequins, sparkles and speculation at the moment but the Christmas special was very special for me. I had the best time.”

She added: “I would never say no to strictly. I will 100% clear my diary always, but I’m a great believer in leaving it to the universe and obviously the main priority is Dani having a speedy recovery!”

Tillie reportedly quit her role on the BBC drama, which if true, would leave her open to join Strictly at any given moment.

An insider had told The Sun: “Tillie recently quit her role on Waterloo Road telling pals it was to make way for ‘another big’ project, which could be a game changer for her career. She’s been making several trips from her Leeds home to London for discussions with TV execs in recent weeks. “

    Article continues below

They added: “The feeling is that if she is filling the shoes vacated by Dani, the programme needs another young, glam woman to take her spot. There is already an imbalance in the genders among the celebrities as there are nine men taking part and six women.”

The source concluded: ” It’s essential the number of females taking part doesn’t drop further, and they want to try and maintain a similar balance in terms of the variety of ages too.”

However, according to the Daily Mail a decision has not been made over Dani’s position on the show. A source told the publication: “Tillie hasn’t had any contact with Strictly Come Dancing. Bosses still don’t know if they are replacing Dani yet.”

Tillie has played Stacey on the school drama since last year and was part of the line-up in the dancing show’s Christmas special, two years ago.

At the time of the Christmas special, Tilly was partnered with professional dancer Neil Jones and said: “I am feeling really overwhelmed, but so privileged to be part of such an amazing show. “

    Article continues below

She added: “You can’t say no to Strictly. I want to prove to myself and other younger people, that you can do anything you put your mind too. Yes I’m an actress and a presenter, but why can’t I dance as well?!”

Addressing the fact she had a glimmer of dancing experience when younger, she continued: “When I was seven, maybe six, I did one dancing competition, because my mum was a dancer, and I did the competition, but then she asked me if I wanted to horse ride, so I took that instead as I didn’t do too well… so I’m going to say no!”

Sadly, Tillie was pipped to the post by former EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick and his pro dance partner Nancy Xu. In a statement confirming the uncertainty over Dani’s return to the competition, it was made clear that the door had been left open for her.

Dani also addressed her fans by posting a video on social media. In her statement she said: “I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.”

She added: “Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable (!!) and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l’ve had to pull out of the show. Gregg comes under attack from Penny in her new memoir

Penny Lancaster and Sir Rod Stewart at the 'Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning' Global Film Premiere.

She says he subjected her to harassment, was threatening and left her in floods of tears.

As Penny bluntly puts it: “I can only think his outburst towards me was a simple recipe of old-fashioned misogyny topped off with a sprinkling of ageism.”

Gregg Wallace strongly denies all allegations of misconduct made against him.

The mum-of-two, 54, who is married to rocker Rod Stewart, makes the sensational allegations in her new autobiography, Someone Like Me.

It comes after a report revealed that more than 40 historic complaints against Wallace had been upheld, along with a claim that his MasterChef co-host, John Torode, once used a racist term.

But Penny reveals that she never planned to speak about her MasterChef stint in 2021, until she was asked to give evidence about Wallace’s conduct.

    ‘Massive power-play’

She joined multiple women, including Newsnight’s Kirsty Wark, in speaking to law firm Lewis Silkin, which was tasked with probing his actions on the series.

It was after she did this — and Wallace and Torode both lost their jobs — that Penny decided to add a chapter to her memoir sharing her experiences.

Explaining her reasoning for making a stand against Wallace’s conduct, she said she hoped speaking up would encourage others to follow suit.

Penny explained: “No woman should ever go to work fearing they will be bullied or harassed, or arrive home knowing that they have been.”

Penny Lancaster claims Gregg Wallace ‘used his position of power’ to ‘bully and harass’ people on MasterChef
Recalling Wallace’s “bullying” behaviour, Penny said she had initially wrongly believed it would be Aussie chef Torode who would give her a hard time on the celebrity version of the popular cooking show.

But she claims she was not alone in being made to feel uncomfortable by Wallace.

Penny describes one “crass” comment in her book that he allegedly made to MasterChef celebrity contestant Melanie Sykes, who has said she quit her career in TV over her interaction with Wallace, but refused to confirm the jibe.

Recalling the incident, Penny wrote: “When Wallace got to Melanie’s station, the conversation took an unexpected turn. ‘Is it true that models don’t eat?’, I thought I heard him ask.”

Penny went on to say that former model Melanie appeared shocked by the body-shaming question, and said it also touched a nerve with her because of her experiences in the industry.

She added: “She was dismayed by the comment. ‘Did you hear that?’, she asked. I had and I wasn’t im- pressed.

“I passed it off as Wallace being clumsy, a boorish man, though I noticed that whenever he approached me, any exchange also felt awkward. It was hard to put my finger on it.”

Of the host’s alleged threatening behaviour, Penny recalls how he stole a flower from one of her kitchen creations in what appeared to be a bid to derail her in the contest.

Explaining that the brief was to create two identical dishes, she said that Wallace purposefully took an orchid from her offering and, when she asked for it back, he refused.

She wrote: “Normally Wallace wandered around the studio with a stuck-on smile, but all I could see now was a thunderous stare.

“Then he marched over to my station with my tray and slammed it down. ‘I’m the judge and I make all the decisions’, he said menacingly, before heading back.”

Penny added: “By now, I was shaking. Everyone watched in silence and the atmosphere felt unbearable.”

Penny recalled that no one spoke out to diffuse the situation, including Torode and the production team, who she believes witnessed what happened.

Refusing to be cowed, Penny went on to explain that she confronted Wallace again — but claims he acted in a more threatening manner.

She writes: “He stared at me, reached into his pocket, took out the orchid and dropped it on the floor in front of him. ‘There you go, there’s your flower’, he snapped.

“Thinking about it now, I wonder why I bent down and picked it up. It was such a demeaning position to be placed in, as if his behaviour was part of a massive power-play.”

Admitting she was upset that no one in the studio came to her defence, Penny recalled thinking: “Is that it? Is no one going to call out this harassment?”

In the chapter, she also poured scorn on Banijay — the production company behind MasterChef.

While the series was shot under strict Covid guidelines, Penny claimed that no one made any safeguarding protocol clear — except the restrictions with filming.

She went on to pay tribute in the book to her husband Sir Rod, who she said kept her going through the competition when she was left in tears.

After being eliminated, Penny admitted she felt an overwhelming sense of relief that she no longer had to work alongside Wallace. Recalling her exit scene, which saw her in tears, she writes: “There was a very real context to those tears that was never explained to the viewer.

“It really did feel like no one cared.”

In Someone Like Me, Penny also opened up on Sir Rod’s damning post about Wallace when the probe into his conduct was revealed by The Sun.

She explained that she was on jury service when the first allegations came to light, and said she had no clue Rod would comment about it on Instagram.

The Sun previously told how, in his post, the singer branded Wallace a “tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully”.

    ‘Don’t mess with me’

Penny wrote: “Rod has always been fiercely protective.

“Knowing how shaken l’d been at the time, it was his way of showing support.” In her autobiography, Penny also lifts the lid on her 18-year marriage to Maggie May rocker Rod — and the other Scottish A-Lister who got away.

During the early years of their relationship, Penny revealed she was asked to assist on a photoshoot with Gerard Butler, who had just been cast in blockbuster film 300, which helped make him a megastar.

Admitting the Scot was very flirty, Penny said he asked her out for a coffee, but she politely declined, before they went on to work together again.

On their second meeting, Penny recalled becoming ill and said it was Gerard who stepped in as her “swashbuckling hero”.

After collapsing to the ground, Paisley-born Gerard leapt into action and called an ambulance, with Penny later discovering she had slipped a disc in her spine.

A few months on, they were together again, with Gerard making another play for Penny’s affections.

After turning down his advances for a third time, she wrote in Someone Like Me: “I suppose Gerard was one of those sliding doors moments — what if I’d said yes?”

But she remained loyal to Rod and the couple married in 2007.

Penny admitted their relationship faced challenges, including the anguish of a miscarriage in 2004, before their son Alastair, now 19, was born.

She also recalled speaking to Rod about his cocaine use, which she said “could make him distant and dismissive”, adding: “I didn’t like how it changed him.”

Writing in the book, Penny revealed that as the pair started to plan a family, she asked Rod to rethink his life- style choices.

While the rock ‘n’ roll legend was still the man she fell in love with, Penny said she was clear that it was time to clean up his act.

She wrote: “After one heart-to-heart, Rod also agreed that if we were to move forward, he would give up that particular indulgence altogether, which he did.”

Penny revealed that, almost two decades after tying the knot, Rod is just as protective of her now as he was when they started dating.

Recalling when she joined the City of London Police in April 2021 as a special constable, Penny wrote: “It is my safety that is always a concern to Rod.”

But she insists that she wears the trousers in their relationship, adding: “Since I joined the force, Rod has also noticed a difference in me. ‘You’ve changed!’, he says.

“My answer? I’ve turned 50, I’m going through the menopause and I’m a special constable, so don’t mess with me.”

    MASTERCHEF SCANDAL TIMELINE

2005 to 2011: Problems with MasterChef began way back in the mid-2000s, with 27 substantiated claims made against host Gregg Wallace regarding alleged incidents in this period, according to a report by law firm Lewis Silkin.

Most of these were related to sexually explicit comments, although one allegation of unwanted physical contact in this period was also substantiated.

The same report found there was a failure by the production company to retain records of any actions taken during this time.

2012 to 2018: Another 17 allegations were upheld from this period, according to the report.

The production company behind MasterChef investigated an allegation about Wallace’s behaviour in 2015 – but he was not made aware of the complaint.

In 2016, the production company merged with Endemol, introducing more formal policies as well as regular training and anonymous reporting lines.

The BBC intervened in response to a complaint in 2017, after which Wallace was then warned to change his behaviour.

2019 to 2024: One substantiated complaint about an inappropriate comment was from this time period.

November 2024: Wallace faces allegations of inappropriate sexual comments from 13 people across a 17-year period on a range of TV shows.

He steps away from presenting MasterChef while Banijay – the show’s production company – announces it will conduct an external review to “fully and impartially investigate” the claims against him.

Some of these allegations included Wallace “talking openly about his sex life, taking his top off in front of a female worker saying he wanted to ‘give her a fashion show’, and telling a junior female colleague he was not wearing any boxer shorts under his jeans”.

Banijay UK also confirms it has appointed law firm Lewis Silkin to lead the investigation into Wallace’s alleged behaviour.

December 2024: Wallace posts a video on Instagram which claims accusations against him making sexual comments towards staff and guests have come from “middle-class women of a certain age”.

His remarks are widely panned as “inappropriate and misogynistic”, causing Wallace to apologise for any “offence” or “upset” he caused with his remarks, saying he will “take some time out”.

Co-host John Torode says he “loves being part of” the show and “will continue to be a part of it”.
July 8 to 9, 2025: Wallace is sacked as MasterChef presenter following an enquiry into his alleged misconduct by Banijay.

In an Instagram post, the former greengrocer claimed he had been cleared of the “most serious and sensational accusations” against him, ahead of the published review.

He also said he recognised that some of his humour and language was inappropriate “at times” and apologised for this.

July 14, 2025: Lewis Silkin publishes its report, on behalf of Banijay.

It says that a total of 45 out of the 83 allegations made against Wallace during his time on the show were substantiated, including one allegation of “unwelcome physical contact”.

It concludes that the “majority of the substantiated allegations against Wallace related to inappropriate sexual language and humour”, adding that “a smaller number of allegations of other inappropriate language and being in a state of undress were also substantiated”.

In the wake of the report’s findings, Banijay says that “Wallace’s return to MasterChef (is) untenable”.

July 15, 2025: Co-host Torode is sacked after allegedly making a racist remark while on the show.

BBC bosses axe the TV host and slam an “extremely offensive” term, which was raised in the bombshell report into Gregg Wallace’s “inappropriate behaviour”.

Torode says the comment – which the report attributed to an unnamed person – referred to him, but added: “I have absolutely no recollection of this, and I do not believe that it happened.”

Ricky Hatton’s manager was filled with “shock and confusion” when he discovered the boxer’s lifeless body. Paul Speak – who had worked with the former world champion for almost 30 years – found his friend d3ad at his Greater Manchester home earlier this month and he’s opened up about the wave of emotions that hit him as he processed the scene in front of him.

Paul – who had gone to Ricky’s home to take him to the airport for a flight to Dubai – told Boxing News magazine: “The lights weren’t on, which I thought was strange. I thought he’d overslept, but it’s not unusual. People do oversleep. So, I went inside – I have a key – shouting, ‘Rick, Rick, wake up!’

“I heard music coming from upstairs, so I went upstairs… I took a look at him… I had to take some time to process it.

“I was in a state of shock and confusion and loss and many more emotions. Then I called the police and the ambulance.

“But I firmly believe he didn’t intend to do it. It’s for the coroner to determine, but he had it all to live for.”

Paul insisted Ricky was “in a really good place” before his d3ath at the age of 46 and had been making a lot of plans.

He added: “He’d arranged to take his daughters to see Oasis next week. He was planning to go to Thailand for the WBC convention and a holiday after his fight. He’d just booked a flight to Tenerife for Christmas.

“I want to get the truth out, otherwise people will just speculate.

“There’s been a lot of rubbish written about Ricky and his parents, but he’d seen his mum just last week; gave her a big hug and some love.

“He was going to see his dad after getting back from Dubai.

“His daughters had never seen him box, so he was excited for that. So many things for him to live for – he was in a really good place.”

Ricky had spoken openly about his mental health struggles in the past and Paul admitted his friend’s d3ath wouldn’t have been “as big a shock” if it had happened a decade ago.

He said: “If this was 10 years ago, it wouldn’t have been as big a shock as it was.

“I’ve been with Ricky to the very highest mountains in boxing to the lowest chasm in life.”

‘Uncomfortable To Watch’: Loose Women Face Fierce Backlash After Jeff Brazier’s Painful On-Air Moment Leaves Viewers Outraged

Jeff appeared caught off guard by the panel’s behaviour

TV presenter Jeff Brazier became the unexpected centre of controversy on today’s (Thursday, September 25) episode of Loose Women, after viewers criticised the panel’s behaviour toward him during a segment.

Jeff appeared on the show to present a competition. He joined hosts Kaye Adams, Oti Mabuse, Judi Love, and Nadia Sawalha after the ad break, but was left standing awkwardly at the table without a chair, prompting an exchange that many at home found inappropriate.

Loose Women panel criticised for their treatment of Jeff Brazier

As Kaye introduced him, Jeff quipped with a smile: “I will take it away. But first, Kaye… Ore looks strong. You’re gonna enjoy the interview, he’s wearing a tank top as well.”

He was referring to upcoming guest Ore Oduba, who was appearing later to promote Frankenstein: The Musical. The panel and audience laughed.

But Jeff soon noticed the unusual setup.

“What about my chair? Where’s my chair gone? You’re making me stand up.”

“You look strong, that’s why we’re making you stand up!” Judi replied playfully.

Jeff laughed and responded: “Ayy, I love that.” But the interaction took a slightly more awkward turn when Kaye added: “You’ve been a naughty boy.”

Jeff hesitated, appearing briefly caught off guard, before replying: “Really? Okay, Kaye, doing it again.”

He quickly pivoted to announcing the £1 million competition. But the moment didn’t go unnoticed by viewers.

    Viewers react

Within minutes of the segment airing, social media lit up with viewers expressing discomfort at what they perceived as double standards and inappropriate innuendo.

“The way they treated Jeff then, imagine if it were four blokes treating a woman like that. Made him feel uncomfortable and awkward,” one viewer fumed.

“I’ve said this for a while,” another agreed. “Imagine if the tables were turned and it was four male panellists talking innuendo about [bleep]ing a female presenter like the #LooseWomen do about Ben Shephard.”

A third viewer responded, “Sexism is rife both ways,” while another called the moment “shocking”.

Others took a more balanced view, acknowledging the history of similar treatment toward women in media.

“To be fair, women have put up with that from men for decades. It’s only now the tables have turned. However, that doesn’t make it right, and I don’t think either is acceptable. Both need to end.”

HEARTBREAK: Loose Women’s Nadia Sawalha Breaks Down Making Heart-Wrenching Revelation About Husband In Rare Emotional Moment

Nadia Sawalha almost broke down in tears on Thursday’s episode of Loose Women. The former EastEnders actress, 60, joined anchor Kaye Adams, ex-Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse and comedienne Judi Love in her usual seat as part of the panel on ITV’s flagship chat show.

The lunchtime ladies were discussing a new podcast interview featuring former footballer Wayne Rooney, and how he feels as if he is ‘managed’ by his wife Coleen and she supports him through various difficulties. Nadia, who has been married to Mark Adderley since 2002 and has Maddy, 22, and 18-year-old Kiki with him, then spoke of how she has ‘rescued’ her husband amid his struggles with mental health.

Nadia, who has previously spoken of how her husband achieved sobriety after many years of struggling with alcohol, was asked if she ‘manages’ her husband and admitted: “Yeah. I like to think more of supporting. I will do it as…Mark does have mental health issues, and I support him through that from a position of being so lucky that I don’t go through that.

“So when he’s very low, it can be very hard, but it’s not as hard as what he’s going through. So I will support him…I will…help him see pinholes of light when it’s very dark.” Nadia then paused to gather her thoughts, and had to stop herself from crying.

She said: “Sorry, I don’t know why I just got overwhelmed then. Sorry. I just have so much, you know I do, empathy for those who struggle with their mental health. It’s not just an easy swipe this or that.

“I am a rescuer, and when I met him, it took me a while to realise he had addiction problems. And him as well, he didn’t know. I’d already seen his heart and soul and his beautiful brain and all those things. If you say managing or rescuing, there was no choice because I was already there with who he was.”

Nadia was supported by her colleagues, and then received a round of applause from the live studio audience following her words.

The TV favourite has previously spoken about her husband’s Bipolar II disorder and depression, for which he was diagnosed in 2021. Last year, Nadia said that “he was told that he would have been trying to deal with his illness since he was five or six years old”. Writing in HELLO, Nadia explained that “by default” she has to also “endure” her husband’s “horrors of depression”. “Except it’s easier for me than it is for him. Much easier,” she explained.

“We’ve been married for almost twenty years, and I would say it’s only really in the last few years that I’ve fully understood what living with depression means…It breaks my heart when he tells me how sad he is because I adore him and it feels so unfair. But it’s also much better in the long run to know the truth,” she said.

Prior to that, Mark himself took to Instagram where he looked back on his experience navigating alcohol abuse, as well as his mental health conditions, before he went sober.

The film producer shared an old photo of himself with his and Nadia’s daughter Maddie, now age 19, and his mother. He wrote beneath the picture: “This was me at my most chaotic, out of control and sad.”

Mark continued: “I knew I had huge reasons to be happy because of our dear dear baby girl – but drink had me in its grip. I can see a strained smile and dead eyes.”
