BBC bosses should be prosecuted for broadcasting a vile anti-Semitic outburst at the Glastonbury festival, the Tory party said tonight.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp said the corporation ‘appears to have broken the law’ by transmitting a punk duo’s calls for the d3aths of Israeli soldiers.

Top lawyer Lord Carlile said the BBC may have committed a criminal offence, while Sir Keir Starmer said the broadcaster had serious questions to answer.

The growing backlash comes after the BBC live-streamed Bob Vylan’s performance uninterrupted on its iPlayer site. It could now face an investigation into whether it has breached public-order laws.

Such are the implications of the chants that the US State Department is also reportedly gearing up to revoke the band’s visas ahead of a forthcoming tour.

During Saturday’s performance by the London-based pro-Pal3stinian duo, vocalist Bobby Vylan shouted ‘D3ath, d3ath to the IDF’, the Israeli Defence Forces.

He followed the chant, which was repeated by the audience, with ‘From the river to the sea, Pal3stine… will be free’ – regarded by many Jews as a call for Israel‘s elimination.

Broadcasting material calling for the d3ath of an individual or group is an offence under the Public Order Act 1986. It carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.

Detectives from Avon and Somerset Police, the force responsible for the policing of Glastonbury, are reviewing footage of the performance.

It is understood that BBC director-general Sir Tim Davie would have to bear ultimate responsibility if the Crown Prosecution Service decided to take the matter further.

Mr Philp said: ‘It looks clear that Bob Vylan were inc1ting vi0lence and hatred.

‘They should be arrested and prosecuted – just like some of those who did the same during the riots last summer.

‘By broadcasting the duo’s vile hatred, the BBC appears to have also broken the law. I call on the police to urgently investigate and prosecute the BBC as well for broadcasting this.

‘Our national broadcaster should not be transmitting hateful material designed to incite violence and conflict.’

DailyWire this evening said the US State Department were looking to revoke the band’s visas.

A senior official reportedly told them: ‘As a reminder, under the Trump Administration, the U.S. government will not issue visas to any foreigner who supports terrorists.’

The punk duo have a twenty-city tour through the States lined up later in the year.

Bob Vylan were performing as a warm-up act for controversial Northern Irish rappers Kneecap – one of whose members is facing a terror charge for allegedly displaying a flag in support of the banned organisation Hezbollah.

Sir Keir said there was no excuse for Vylan’s ‘appalling’ h3te sp33ch.

‘I said that Kneecap should not be given a platform and that goes for any other performers making threats or inc1ting vi0lence,’ he added.

‘The BBC needs to explain how these scenes came to be broadcast.’

Lord Carlile said people were free to make anti-Israel comments but when those comments spilled over into d3ath threats, or something that sounded like d3ath threats, the BBC had a responsibility not to broadcast unlawful material.

The KC, who served as the Government’s independent reviewer of terrorism legislation for ten years, added: ‘I would be interested to know whether the BBC took legal advice and, if so, what that legal advice was. I’m very troubled they may have broadcast unlawful material under section 22 of the Public Order Act.’

Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis said: ‘Their chants very much crossed a line and we are urgently reminding everyone involved in the production of the festival that there is no place at Glastonbury for anti-Semitism, hate sp33ch or incitement to violence.’

Glastonbury had said all were welcome at the festival but added it ‘does not condone hate sp33ch or incitement to violence of any kind from its performers’

But lawyer Mark Lewis, who specialises in libel cases, said the apology had come too late. He added: ‘It is a bit rich that they try to lock the stable doors after the horse has bolted. Glastonbury was warned what was likely to happen and now it is likely there will be legal consequences.’

Former Tory culture secretary Nadine Dorries said the BBC had ‘serious questions to answer’, adding: ‘It is quite right that lawyers are asking whether the broadcasting of the chants made on the stage at Glastonbury have crossed the line into a criminal offence. Police should seek swift advice and take action immediately.’

Dame Priti Patel, former home secretary and current Shadow Foreign Secretary, added: ‘[The BBC] no longer hold the respectability to claim the mantle of our national broadcaster.’

Former Labour minister Lord Austin said: ‘This weekend Glastonbury was turned into a sickening hate rally, and chants for d3ath were beamed into millions of homes by the BBC.

‘Tim Davie must now launch an urgent investigation and fire those found to be responsible. He must understand this is a very dark day for the corporation that calls its very purpose and future into question.’

Former director of BBC television Danny Cohen told The Daily Telegraph: ‘The police should investigate, as should the BBC’s board, led by chairman Samir Shah. How much longer can they tolerate the failings of BBC leadership on anti-Semitism and bias?’

A spokesman for the Campaign Against Antisemitism said: ‘The BBC has surpassed even itself in endangering British Jews by airing this violent chanting.

‘We are formally complaining to the BBC over its outrageous decision not only to broadcast Bob Vylan’s calls for d3ath and destruction, but also to place that segment on iPlayer along with Kneecap’s performance, which the BBC knew in advance that it should not air.

‘Our national broadcaster must apologise for its dissemination of this extr3mist vitriol, and those responsible must be removed from their positions.

‘That includes Tim Davie… who has had more than enough chances to stop this abuse of licence fee payers’ money to platform big0ts and extr3mists.’

Toby Young, president of the Free Speech Union, raised the case of childminder Lucy Connolly, who was jailed for tweets she made about deporting asylum seekers and burning down hotels housing them after the Southport killings of three girls at a dance studio. She is currently serving a 31-month sentence.

He added: ‘She caveated what she said by adding ‘for all I care’, whereas he [Vylan] clearly does care and wants every member of the IDF, which includes virtually the entire population of Israel, to be killed, so the case for prosecuting him is stronger. But to be clear, neither should be prosecuted.’

Bob Vylan’s performance was later removed from iPlayer.

A BBC spokesman said: ‘Some of the comments made during Bob Vylan’s set were deeply offensive.

‘During this live stream on iPlayer, which reflected what was happening on stage, a warning was issued on screen about the very strong and discriminatory language. We have no plans to make the performance available on demand.’

Avon and Somerset Police were approached for comment.

Meanwhile, Little Mix singer Jade led the Glastonbury crowd in chanting ‘f*** you‘ towards the Reform Party during her performance on Saturday.

“Queen of Secrets”: 3 little-known facts about the Million-Dollar Wedding Dress of Lauren Sanchez, wife of billionaire Jeff Bezos!

Jeff Bezos usually doesn’t hear the word no – but he did before his wedding.

The billionaire businessman, 61, really wanted to see Lauren Sanchez, 55, wearing her wedding dress prior to their nuptials- he even ‘b3gg3d’ at one point – but the bride wasn’t having it.

Vogue Italia editor Laura Tortora told People that Sanchez ‘resisted because she wanted to give him this surprise at all costs’ when they exchanged vows on the Italian island of San Giorgio Maggiore Friday.

When they did exchange vows in Venice, Italyin front of an estimated 200 celebrity guests, Sanchez was clad in a Dolce & Gabbana custom gown.

The gown, according to Vogue, was made from hand-appliquéd Italian lace and had a total of 180 silk chiffon-covered buttons.

The resilient beauty rounded out her ensemble with earrings borrowed from Dolce Alta Gioielleria Miracolo, and a memento of her flight on the Blue Origin flight, People reported.

The garment was corseted and in a mermaid style, which piqued the interest of the Amazon founder prior to the nuptials, Tortora told the outlet.

‘This happened after the fitting at Dolce & Gabbana, so her last fitting, and our insiders saw her immediately after, and she was really, really excited,’ Tortora told People.

Tortora added that Sanchez ‘herself said, ‘It was stronger than I imagined,’ and she told us that Jeff wanted to see this dress.’

She continued: ‘Bezos begged to see the dress. But inside herself she resisted because she wanted to give him this surprise at all costs and so she managed it.’

Measures were taken to prevent the affluent businessman from seeing the broadcaster in the elaborate ensemble ahead of their special day, Tortora told the magazine.

Bezos ‘was kept in a room that didn’t face the lawn where she was being photographed,’ she said.

Tortora continued: ‘So even in that context, attention was paid to this so she could maintain the secret with her future husband.’

The list of celebrities for the scion’s big bash was unrivaled, attracting the biggest and brightest stars across multiple fields such as entertainment and sports.

Boasting a big smile, the star wore her blonde hair down, placing a hat on top to protect against the beaming sun.

Dressed for the festival, Holly gave bohemian vibes with a flowy teal-coloured dress that featured long sleeves.

Her husband Dan sported a casual look, wearing a white top and black shades to protect from the sunlight on the Somerset farm.

Yesterday, the former This Morning star oozed festival chic as she led the celebrities on the second day of sun-soaked Glastonbury.

She put on a very leggy display in a black lace mini dress which she teamed with chunky boots as she was spotted strolling around Worthy Farm ahead of performances by Neil Young, Raye and Kaiser Chiefs.

Holly cinched her tiny waist with a leather belt and shielded her famous features beneath chic shades and an oversized fedora.

Meanwhile, MailOnline told how Paul Mescal was spotted in Glastonbury festival’s VIP area draping his arm around his girlfriend Gracie Abrams.

It comes after her set on Friday at the West Holts stage where the Gladiator star, 29, was seen dancing among the revellers in support.

The couple dressed down as the daughter of Star Wars director, JJ Abrams, wore Adidas tracksuit bottoms, a simple white top and polka dot head scarf.

The notoriously private Oscar nominee sported a Boston cap and wore his trademark short shorts from Adidas with a pair of sunglasses to keep a low profile.

Gracie, 25, and her boyfriend of one year have spent the weekend partying with his Normal People co-star, Daisy Edgar Jones and her boyfriend Ben Seed.

It comes a month after the couple made their first red carpet appearance in France at the History of Sound premiere.

Gracie and Paul have been romantically linked since June 2024 after they were spotted enjoying a cosy dinner date.

They sparked break up rumours earlier this year, when MailOnline revealed they had been locked in a t3arful argum3nt while dining at a trendy restaurant in London, causing Gracie to st0rm 0ut.

However, just a few weeks later they looked to have patched things up as they were pictured looking very affectionate outside the Noel Coward Theatre where Paul was starring in A Streetcar Named Desire.

An onlooker told MailOnline at the time: ‘Paul came out of the stage door to say hello to about 100 fans and was signing autographs.

‘Gracie was standing on the street watching on but stayed very much back, in the shadows, so she was not noticed. She kept a very low profile.

‘Paul then walked back into the theatre and, after the fans cleared off, he reappeared. She was waiting for him and they went round the corner to hide.

Daisy and her boyfriend Ben Seed put on a very loved-up display at Glastonbury on Saturday.

The actress, 27, and self-taught photographer – who were first linked in September 2023 – walked hand-in-hand at the popular music event which takes place at Worthy Farm every year.

The couple are relatively private and generally keep their romance under wraps, rarely speaking about one another in interviews.

GMA’s veteran anchors Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos CONFIRM DEPARTURE from their old studio after 25 years, leaving viewers emotional!

It is a bittersweet week for the cast and crew of Good Morning America.

Monday, June 9 kicked off the last week that anchors Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos are filming from their news desks at the program’s studios in Times Square, as they are moving downtown a week from now.

And in honor of the big move — 25 years after they first moved into the area — they are taking a trip down memory lane, looking back at when they first moved in just ahead of the new millennium.

The broadcast kicked off announcing they are in for “the ultimate countdown as we say goodbye to our beloved home of 25 years” before they are off to their “sparkly new headquarters.”

Their new studios are in Hudson Square, an increasingly popular neighborhood west of SoHo, not far from TriBeCa.

Later on Robin welcomed newly-crowned Roland Garros winner Coco Gauff, noting it was the “perfect bookend,” given that the week they moved into their current studios, they welcomed Serena Williams on the heels of her first US Open win, in 1999.

Plus, sharing a glimpse of their new offices, Michael described the move as “a whole new beginning,” and later Lara Spencer, noting there are already boxes everywhere, said: “We’re packing up, I can’t believe it.”

The Los Angeles Times previously reported back in March that the flagship morning show would be joining other ABC News and ABC News Live programs at the new Robert A. Iger building in 7 Hudson Square, Disney’s new headquarters.

It also reported at the time that CBS’ own flagship news program, CBS Mornings, which is hosted by Gayle King, Nate Burleson and Tony Dokoupil, would also be moving to the area, amid ongoing cost-cutting measures from parent company Paramount.

ABC’s The View was among the first of the network’s shows to move into the new 22-story building, which opened last year after construction began around 2019.

Designed by renowned architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Disney’s website states that the “new complex, which serves as a collaborative town square in the bustling city, has already started welcoming employees, and by next summer will officially be home to news, editorial, live productions, streaming, technology, advertising, corporate, business support functions, and more.”

Named after current Disney CEO Bob Iger, who began his career at ABC in 1974, “7 Hudson Square is also a testament to Disney’s commitment to NYC, its economy, and its people. BREAKING NEWS – Veteran Fox News host Sean Hannity makes a Sh0cking TV statement – His Future Plans stun audiences!

Sean Hannity Moves Fox News Broadcast to New Home in Florida

Sean Hannity sometimes tells younger colleagues at Fox News Channel that he is “the bridge between two generations of Fox” because he has been part of its primetime lineup since 1996. Now he may serve a similar purpose for a third.

Fox News will next week bring Hannity to the world of video-streaming, launching “Hannity on Air” on its new Fox Nation subscription broadband service. The program will give viewers a look at the opening monologue of his daily radio show, a segment that’s typically 15 minutes to 17 minutes in length. Hannity has been expected to take part in the venture. The program will debut on Wednesday, January 30, and is expected to post most weekdays in the afternoon.

“I was perhaps a little slower to it than I should have been” says Hannity of getting some of his content distributed in so-called “over the top” fashion. But he now realizes having a presence on broadband is “critical,” he says in an interview while sitting behind his desk in his office at Fox News’ Manhattan headquarters just 90 minutes or so before his primetime program is set to start. “You can’t not be” involved in streaming, he adds.

Sean Hannity Says He's Relocated To Florida

Hannity’s coming work for Fox Nation is just the latest signal of the importance of streaming for the entire media industry. The host is the 21st Century Fox-owned outlet’s most-watched personality, notching a decade as a solo anchor after working for many years opposite Alan B. Colmes. He is part of a growing parade of talent finding its way to subscription video-on-demand as traditional media outlets rush to mine the same vein that has propelled Netflix, Amazon and Hulu into must-have entertainment portals.

“Media is changing fast,” says Hannity, who has hosted the most-watched cable-news program for the past two years, “and I especially think that traditional television viewing has changed forever. Netflix and Amazon and all of these other options that people are offering – there are so many choices now. The safest two businesses to be in are live sports and live news, and I really think they are the ones people will go to for appointment viewing. Otherwise, you can just watch on demand any time you want, and people will just choose that.”

Fox Nation launched in late November, and since that time streaming has come under even sharper focus. NBCUniversal last week unveiled plans to launch a broadband service in 2020, shaking up its top executive ranks to make it happen. Viacom on Tuesday said it would purchase ad-supported streaming serviced Pluto TV for $340 million. Disney’s ESPN said its recently launched ESPN+ subscription-video service notched more than 500,000 new customers last weekend as it launched its first UFC card on the outlet. CBS noted robust activity for its streaming “CBS All Access” thanks to the availability of a new season of “Star Trek: Discovery” and an NFL divisional championship.

And, more notably perhaps, conservative-leaning TV company Sinclair Broadcast Group last week unveiled the launch of an ad-supported subscription-video-on-demand streaming service that is slated to included content from its stations.

Hannity says he became convinced of the viability of the new viewing technology thanks to his children as well as distribution of clips from his radio program on social media. One teenage child primarily watches video via laptop, he says, and he has seen “huge demand” for the content from his radio program sent out via Twitter and other outlets.

“For a long time, you could not measure it,” he says of digital media consumption. But the more than 600 radio stations that broadcast his show “all have online listening on their web sites” that can be monitored, “and then we are on podcasting,” which can also be tracked. While radio listenership has declined, “when you look at all of the platforms, just the opposite is occurring. In the age of Trmp, listening and viewing has gone through the roof and a lot of it is driven by news events.”

He does not expect to make changes to the radio show, even with cameras in the studio. He will still wear T-shirts or sweatshirts and jeans, and won’t keep the broadcasting going beyond the monologue., hoping to maintain the “from the heart” passion that comes across via his voice.

And while media distribution is shifting rapidly, Hannity says the appeal of his program is rooted in things that don’t change: his willingness to buck pronouncements by mainstream media and his ability to stand by his own interpretation of news events. “I can’t make you be a conservative. I have to try and persuade, convince. But we are all adults. You have to make your own decisions. I know people are good people that just have a different point of view, and I have my point of view.”

He firmly believes that President Donald Trmp gets pilloried more than he deserves, a position from which he will not waver. “If Trmp cured cancer and gave every American $1 million,” he says, liberals “would still hate him. I’ll even add if he adopted all of their little policies. For a lot of people, it seems personal.”

While MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and CNN’s Chris Cuomo vie for viewers in Hannity’s 9 p.m. time slot, the host says he does not pay much attention to their programs. “Have I seen them? Yes. Have I seen them for more than two minutes at a time? I haven’t. I have no interest in what other people do. The only reason I know something about the cable-news environment is because I have five TV sets in front of me three hours a day in case there’s breaking news” while he does his radio program.

Hannity served as executive producer of a 2017 Christian drama, “Let There Be Light,” and says he has other projects in the works. “Very big plans,” he notes, though he declines to offer additional details. “I haven’t told Fox yet,” he jokes. “Stay tuned.”

He isn’t likely to leave Fox News anytime soon. In the past, Hannity had remarked via social media that his contract with the company ran through 2020. But he says that his current agreement with Fox runs through December 2021 , ensuring he will have worked for the network for a quarter century. Did he recently renew or extend? He declines to get into specifics.

“My focus is on building a good show every night, and I try to keep my eyes on that,” he says.

More Democrats are watching Fox News than liberal outlets like CNN or MSNBC, as execs at the company have boasted of big-name advertisers flocking to the network.

According to Nielsen MRI Fusion data seen by DailyMail.com, Fox News is the number one cable news network for both Democrats and independents.

The statistics, taken from January of this year, show the outlet performs better than CNN and MSNBC in the 18 and over demographic.

Total primetime viewers for the network totaled 427,000 for Democratic voters, CNN reached only 174,000 Dems, while MSNBC hit 255,000.

In the same data bracket for independents, or those with no party affiliation, the network again was way out in front, raking in 709,000 viewers.

CNN managed to rake in only 117,000 independent viewers, while MSNBC took in 155,000, according to the data.

In the highly sought after 25 to 54 demographic, Fox again is out in front before the two, bringing in 54,000 Democratic voters during primetime hours.

CNN managed only 34,000 of those in the same Demographic, while MSNBC managed a meager 18,000.

Chairperson of News Corp Lachlan Murdoch, seen here in 2019, said the company had made a record $781 million in EBITDA

The new data comes after Jeff Collins, President of Advertising Sales at the company, told Puck that advertisers are now swarming the brand due to their record audience share.

Collins told the outlet of their new reach amongst Democrats and independents, saying: ‘There’s a narrative that Fox News does a great job reaching Middle America, but the data shows that it’s actually the entire country.’

Collins said that the Fox audience has always been more diverse, whether that be politically or demographically than their critics want to admit.

His comments were echoed by chairperson of News Corp Lachlan Murdoch, who spoke at a recent earnings call with investors.

The 53-year-old, who took over the reign’s of his father Rupert’s empire in 2023, said the company had made a record $781 million in EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) which was fueled by a growth of 20 percent in ads.

He also told investors that Fox News had welcomed over 100 new advertising clients to their platform.

Collins would later tell Puck that the total number of new clients was over 120, and declined to name them.

The outlet added that while he stepped away from naming any of their high profile clients, some ads broadcasted on Friday included Amazon and General Motors.

Collins added that the majority of new clients had not approached the company as part of Super Bowl related deals.

This dominant position, coupled with the influx of new advertising clients, was deemed a ‘big f****** deal’, by media analyst Rich Greenfield.

Greenfield told Puck that Fox News was historically linked with low level advertising partners, and not the likes of Amazon and General Motors.

He added: ‘Now, blue chip advertisers like Unilever have come back onto the platform’.

With its best ever January under its belt, Fox News continued its 23-year stretch as cable news’s top dog.

Seemingly unaffected by trends affecting its contemporaries, the network is gaining ground as the most-watched overall.

The distinction was once held by CNN, which recently had layoffs to raise its bottom line. The station also aired plans to shift toward a more digital-based model.

Fox News averaged 1.9 million total day viewers in January – nearly double that of MSNBC and CNN put together.

The left-leaning networks, by contrast, collected 506,000 total day viewers and 421,000, respectively – with the difference in primetime even more drastic.

During the hours of 8-11 pm ET, MSNBC barely managed an audience of 734,000, with CNN securing just 522,000.

This all occurred during a hectic news cycle that featured coverage of Justin Trudeau’s resignation, Trmp’s inauguration and the controversy surrounding the president’s parade of appointments and pardons.

Jim Acosta announces exit from CNN, signs off with a powerful message

Talking heads ranging from Jake Tapper to Joy Reid failed to stop the bleeding – as did a move from MSNBC that brought back Rachel Maddow to TV sets five times a week, at least for the first 100 days of the new administration.

Fox News, during primetime, raked in an average of 2.8 million viewers – a 40 percent spike when compared to last year, while both MSNBC and CNN experienced double-digit declines.

But the real damage was done in the 25 to 54 demographic.

In primetime, Fox managed to grow its audience by an astounding 61 percent in the demo – as CNN and MSNBC both saw double-digit drops that brought them to their knees, while widening the gap between them and their rival.

Within the all-important demo, CNN slumped to 80,000 viewers during the day and 118,000 in primetime, amid exits from stalwarts such as Jim Acosta and Chris Wallace.

MSNBC, meanwhile, lagged to just 45,000 viewers during the day and just 63,000 during the peak hours of night – with the Maddow experiment seemingly failing.

In terms of percentages, though, the figures were even more alarming; MSNBC essentially lost nearly half of its 25 to 54 audience since this time last year, continuing a 65 percent slide seen since the election.

In primetime, the network’s numbers are down 41 percent from 2024. When it came to programming delivered during the day, the percentage dip was the same.

For CNN, the drop was more slight, though it served as a continuation of a similar ratings fall seen since the election where it lost more than half its audience in a matter of weeks.

In the 25 to 54 demographic during primetime, the Warner-Discovery-owned network was down five percent year-over-year, as well as seven percent during daytime.

At the end of December, the network reported losing 56 percent of its audience during primetime following the usual spikes seen during the election – and 49 percent during the day.

The move by advertisers comes amid a more open acceptance of the new Trmp administration for businesses.

In his first term those involved with the president kept their dealings with him behind closed doors.

A more open embrace of Trmp has been evident since his inauguration, with the likes of Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg and ‘First Buddy’ Elon Musk all present.

There are also clear direct links between Trmp and Fox News, with his daughter-in-law Lara now taking on a job as a host for the network.

Outside of close family, former Fox Hosts Pete Hegseth and Sean Duffy are now serving as his secretaries of Defense and Transportation respectively.

Fox News is making some changes to its White House bureau … subtle changes, at least.

The cable news channel has promoted White House correspondents Peter Doocy and Jacqui Heinrich to senior White House correspondents. They will both continue to cover the Biden administration, with Heinrich also continuing to host Fox News Audio’s Fox News Rundown podcast.

Doocy, who covered President Biden’s campaign in 2020 and continued in the White House, has long been something of a thorn in the side of Biden’s press team, occasionally sparring during briefings with press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, and before that Jen Psaki.

The promotions lock in Fox’s White House team during a long 2020 election process.

“Peter’s commitment to providing viewers with hourly news and insight from the White House has remained steadfast since he started in this role straight off the 2020 campaign trail and we’re thrilled to have him continue doing so,” said Fox News president Jay Wallace.

“Covering the White House has been the privilege of my career, and I am humbled and grateful to continue serving our viewers in this capacity,” Heinrich added. “From the North Lawn to foreign summits to the campaign trail, it is my daily honor to seek answers for the American people on the issues impacting them most.”

Pete Hegseth, Trump’s Pentagon pick, faces Senate confirmation hearing

One of the Fox & Friends may have a new job … in President-elect Donald Trυmρ‘s cabinet.

Trυmρ on Tuesday said that he intends to nominate Fox & Friends weekend host Pete Hegseth to be his Secretary of Defense, one of the most important cabinet positions in his administration.

A Fox News source tells The Hollywood Reporter that Hegseth’s time with the company ends today, his last show was this past weekend.

“Pete Hegseth has been an exceptional host on Fox & Friends and Fox Nation and a best-selling author for Fox News Books for nearly a decade,” a Fox News spokesperson says. “His insights and analysis especially about the military resonated deeply with our viewers and made the program the major success that it is today. We are extremely proud of his work at Fox News and wish him the best of luck in Washington.”

“Pete has spent his entire life as a Warrior for the Troops, and for the Country,” Trυmρ said in a statement. “Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First. With Pete at the helm, America’s enemies are on notice – Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down.”

“Pete has been a host at FOX News for eight years, where he used that platform to fight for our Military and Veterans,” the statement continued. “Pete’s recent book, ‘The War on Warriors,’ spent nine weeks on the New York Times best-sellers list, including two weeks at NUMBER ONE. The book reveals the leftwing betrayal of our Warriors, and how we must return our Military to meritocracy, lethality, accountability, and excellence.”

Hegseth is an Army veteran, and joined Fox News as a contributor in 2014, and was officially named co-host of the weekend edition of the morning show in 2017 after filling in as a co-host the previous year. He has also hosted the Fox Nation Patriot Awards every year since they were created in 2019, honoring everyday heroes. Hegseth will not host this year’s awards, which are set to be held next month on Long Island.

Trυmρ has previously hired some former Fox talent in his previous administration, though none in as high a profile role as Defense Secretary. Former Fox News correspondent Heather Nauert would go on to work for the State Department, first as a spokesperson and then as Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs. Former Fox News executive Bill Shine also joined the White House to work as an assistant to the President. And some former Fox contributors and commentators, including Anthony Scaramucci, John Bolton and Mercedes Schlapp, would also have roles in the White House, with Bolton having the most senior role as National Security Adviser.

Former Fox contributor Mike Huckabee was also named to be his ambassador to Isra3l.

At the same time as the Hegseth announcement, Trυmρ also revealed that he’d be partnering with El0n Msk and former GOP rival Vivek Ramaswamy on an initiative titled Department of Government Efficiency (“D0GE,” in an apparent nod to “d0gecoin” jokes that Msk has made) that would be aimed at restructuring bureaucracy.

Trυmρ stated of the “D0GE” initiative, “Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies.”
