A Flood of Birthday Wishes for George Stephanopoulos – but ONE left co-host Michael Strahan ‘FROZEN’ live on GMA! What really happened?

ichael Strahan may be the big football star at ABC, but on Monday, it was George Stephanopoulos getting a Super Bowl trophy!

Monday, February 10 marked not only the day after the Super Bowl — famously one of the most popular days across the country to call in sick to work — but also the former White House communications director’s 64th birthday.

And as he rang it in surrounded by his Good Morning America colleagues, he had both a birthday and a successful bet to celebrate.

On Monday, the GMA anchors capped off the broadcast by going over who everyone had bet on winning the Super Bowl — in a surprising upset, the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs, who spent much of the game at 0, 40-22 — and George bet on the Eagles winning 35-28.

Rebecca Jarvis and Sam Champion also voted in favor of the Eagles, and as they all gathered on set the following morning, Robin Roberts congratulated George for having the best Super Bowl prediction.

In honor of his successful bet, he was handed a shiny Super Bowl trophy, and he was quick to tease Michael — who was still reporting from New Orleans — over it, telling the cameras: “Michael, look what I have right now!”

Michael himself spent 15 years — his entire NFL career — with the New York Giants, and won the Super Bowl once, in 2008, against the New England Patriots, before retiring that year.

“And on your birthday! It’s George’s birthday everyone!” Robin then announced, as fellow hosts Lara Spencer and Ginger Zee joined in on celebrating him.

George was also celebrated over on Instagram by his wife Ali Wentworth, who he married in 2001, and who took to the social media app to share a round of sweet family photos.

“Happy Birthday to my everything!!!!!” Ali endearingly wrote in her caption, and fans were quick to take to the comments section under the post and gush over it.

“Happy healthy birthday to my favorite trustworthy journalist [and] author,” one wrote, as others followed suit with: “Happy Birthday to your wonderful husband!” and: “Happy birthday @gstephanopoulos have a wonderful time,” as well as: “Happy birthday, you guys are a beautiful couple.”

The “Live! with Kelly and Michael” co-host, “Good Morning America” contributor and former New York Giants defensive end shares the key to waking up happy and 18 rules for a happier life in his new book, “Wake Up Happy: The Dream Big, Win Big Guide to Transforming Your Life.”

His Rule No. 1? Help can and will come from the most unexpected places.

Chatting with “GMA” co-anchor George Stephanopoulos over a game of golf at Golf and Body NYC, Strahan said that unexpected place was actress Jane Fonda.

Describing himself as a “chubby kid,” he said his brothers called him “Bob” — (for booty on back) — because of the size of his butt.

“And I found Jane Fonda tapes because she did all the leg lifts and all these things that literally work your butt off … And it was the first time in my life that I saw through my attitude or — just through my desire that I can change something that I wanted to change,” he said.

That change led to a love of fitness and to his football career, including a Super Bowl win.

The cover of Michael Strahan’s new memoir “Wake Up Happy: The Dream Big, Win Big Guide to Transforming Your Life” is shown.

His Rule No. 2? Hit pause before you quit. That was his father’s advice to him after he considered quitting football in his freshman year in college.

“Back then, it was just so fast for me. I was away from my family and I went back for Christmas break and I took the light bulbs out of the lamps. I was not going back to that college dorm room,” he recalled. “And my dad said, ‘What are you going to do?’ And I said, ‘I’m going to stay and work with you.’ And he looked at me again, said, ‘What are you going do?’ And at that point, I realized I had to do something for myself.”

Another secret to Strahan’s success is to be fearless.

“I’m scared 90 percent of the time … I push through it. I was scared to go back to college — and I was scared to play football, and I was scared the first time I went on ‘Live’. I was scared to come on ‘GMA,’” he said, adding: “But then I realized you have to get out of your comfort zone.”

“Good Morning America” special contributor Michael Strahan talks to “GMA” co-host George Stephanopoulos about Strahan’s new memoir “”Wake Up Happy: The Dream Big, Win Big Guide to Transforming Your Life.”

His Rule No. 9 says the secret lies not in luck, but in the things you do every day.

“For me the routine just sets my mind for the day … I wake up and I put on music. Music makes me happy,” Strahan said, mentioning that listening to the Bill Withers’ song “Lovely Day” when he wakes up helps him enjoy his day.

Another rule — rule No. 8 — stresses how important it is for adults to play.

“I think we all get so tied up in what’s going on in work and all these other things that we forget that life is supposed to be fun,” he said, during the golf game. “And I try to bring that same attitude, as much as of the fun and play as you can bring to a job, I try to do it.

“Your life’s going to be as happy as you want it to be,” Strahan said, “as long as you make the decision that you want to be that way.”“Wake Up Happy” is written with Veronica Chambers. The book is out today.

Huge NFL nostalgia or Michael Strahan’s heartfelt humility? His ‘outsider’ confession at GMA leaves fans speechless!

Even after nearly a decade in the anchor chair, Michael Strahan experiences a bit of imposter syndrome. The former NFL star turned Good Morning America favorite opened up about his journey and his disbelief at the 2025 Paley Honors Spring Gala in New York City. The popular morning news program was celebrated for its 50th anniversary.

“Since its debut in 1975 on ABC, Good Morning America has been a cornerstone of morning television, delivering breaking news, insightful interviews, and uplifting stories that shape the day,” reads The Paley Center’s tribute to the show. Over five decades, GMA has become a cultural institution. For Michael, being part of that legacy still feels surreal.

Taking the stage alongside his longtime co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, Michael accepted the honor with humility and humor.

Robin, who looked elegant in a black cap-sleeve dress with blue snakeskin heels, thanked the staff and viewers who’ve supported the show through the years. George reflected on his 15-year tenure and said: “I never could have imagined that I would ever be a part of Good Morning America, that I would be anchor on GMA.”

Michael, never one to miss a punchline, chimed in with a laugh: “George, if you thought you were amazed you had this job, a few years ago I was wearing tights and running into grown men.”

The crowd at the Ziegfeld Ballroom broke out into laughter. It was a line only Michael could deliver, showing his gratitude while also being perfectly self-deprecating. But behind the joke was genuine awe.

Michael always brings laughter to GMA

Michael became a full time anchor on GMA in 2016, following a successful run on Live! with Kelly and Michael and of course, his Hall of Fame career with the New York Giants.

Since joining the GMA team, Michael proved himself to be far more than a former athlete. His warmth and relatability made a staple of the show. He’s interviewed world leaders, orchestrated a live wedding, and shared his daughter Isabella’s heartbreaking battle with brain cnc3r. Michael always shows up as his full self – dad, journalist, teammate, and yes, former defensive end.

The Paley Honors recognized that balance. In a moving speech, World News Tonight anchor David Muir praised the GMA crew not just for their journalistic success, but for their ability to bring their whole selves to the screen every morning.

David spoke about how much he respected the GMA crew, especially Michael

“[Michael] who brings the joy to the mornings and who, like Robin, witnessed a personal battle within his own family – Isabella –  these last couple of years.”

Michael’s humility is part of what makes him such a compelling presence on GMA. You can see his sincerity in the below video. His disbelief is not an act. It’s the same sincerity he brings to millions of viewers each morning. And judging by the applause at the Paley Honors, his sincerity is beloved.

Michael Strahan is a much-loved member of the ABC family and has been working with the network for over a decade.

And the Good Morning America star is in demand too, as he was asked on Tuesday May 13th’s show to join another show – and his reaction was priceless!

Michael, along with co-hosts George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts and Lara Spencer, was talking to Dancing with the Stars judge Alfonso Ribeiro ahead of the 20th anniversary of the hit dance show.

When asked who he would like to join this year’s competition, Alfonso didn’t hold back.

Along with requesting his The Fresh Prince of Bel Air co-star Will Smith, the actor and performer also revealed that Michael would be up there on his wishlist. “I think if there was a guy who played for the Giants at one point… he would bring the whole New York audience…”

Michael then got up and started to dance, much to the delight of Alfonso. “That’s as much as you’re getting,” he teased. “You know what I love about Dancing with the Stars?” he added.

“When they come here, I get to interview them and they don’t have to dance. That’s the best part.”

The GMA star laughed off the idea of being a DWTS contestant

“My joints are too old and brittle,” he added. “This is the thing, every professional footballer and athlete who has been on the show has said it’s been the hardest thing they’ve ever done. If it was harder than football was for me, I cannot fathom it at this point in my life.”

Attention then turned to George. “Come on George, you could come out of that shell a little bit,” Alfonso teased. “He’s not even going to try and pitch me,” George joked as it went silent.

Even if Michael wanted to participate in DWTS, it looks as if he already has a very busy schedule. As well as his weekday hosting duties on GMA, he also hosts a number of other shows including The $100,000 Pyramid.

He is also the face behind his menswear line, Collection by Michael Strahan. On top of this, the star is a devoted dad and grandfather.

He has four children and a stepson, as well as a baby grandson who he dotes on. Family is everything to Michael, and he is more grateful than ever for them following a difficult few years.

In October 2023, his daughter Isabella, then 18, was diagnosed with cnc3r and underwent emergency surg3ry to remove a large medulloblastoma in her cerebellum.

She documented her cnc3r journey for most of 2024, uploading footage on her YouTube channel to help raise awareness, and was given the all-clear in July, where she was able to ring the bell to end her chemotherapy.

In total, she endured six weeks of radiation, four rounds of chemotherapy and three brain surg3ries. Luckily, she is now in good health and is looking to the future, balancing college alongside modeling.

Michael shares Isabella and her twin sister Sophia with ex-wife Jean Muggli. He is also father to son Michael Jr. and daughter Tanita, who he shares with ex-wife Wanda Hutchins. In 2024, Tanita welcomed her first child, a son called Onyx, with her partner.

SH0CKING REVELATION: The Royal Family’s “RUTHLESS” plan for Harry once Prince William takes the Throne!

The slimmed-down monarchy looks set to get even thinner – and it’s one royal who could really bear the brunt of the dwindling numbers. When Prince William eventually ascends to the throne, the ageing working royals may have well slowed down, with only his three children, it seems, that will one day join the ranks.

Therefore, it has long been said that his relatively young cousins, such as Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and even Zara Tindall, could help plug the gap by helping out on an informal basis. It comes as sources close to William reportedly say he has been thinking about his plans for the future as he assesses what is important to him.

But according to Jennie Bond, one key royal who once would have figured highly in these plans, but has no place at all now is his estranged brother Prince Harry.

And the former BBC royal correspondent told the Mirror : “I don’t think Harry figures in William’s plans at all. It is a very sad situation because Harry was his wingman and would have been the brother he could rely on when he takes on the very heavy responsibility of being King.

“Harry would have had an extremely senior role and been the sibling, friend, supporter and sounding board that the Princess Royal is now to her brother King Charles. It is a great loss for William, but one which I think he has now accepted.”

However, one cousin tipped to get a huge role is Zara Tindall, who could take on all royal horse racing matters, which Jennie said would be a stroke of genius from William.

She explained: “There will be so many demands on his time when he is King that I think it’s a brilliant idea – if the reports are to be believed – that he might hand over racing matters to Zara Tindall. Like her mother, she lives and breathes horses; she’s also extremely glamorous and well-liked and it would be a perfect fit.

“I don’t think William or Catherine are particularly interested in the racing world, so it would work out well, although I’m sure they would still trot along to Ascot from time to time. They’d always be sure of a bit of fun and a giggle with Zara and Mike.”

In an interview many years ago, William once memorably said that he doesn’t lie awake at night thinking about his destiny. But Jennie added: “William wouldn’t be human if he hadn’t thought long and hard about his future role as King and how he will approach it. That much was apparent when he stated that he wanted to do his job ‘with a small r’. A tiny phrase, but full of meaning.

“Although he admired his grandmother hugely, and learned a great deal from her about the destiny which lies ahead of him, I think he will continue to build on his father‘s approach: being more than a figurehead or patron, but grappling instead with the nuts and bolts of social issues that need fixing and trying to help interested parties come up with practical solutions.

“William is taking on even bigger social issues: homelessness, mental health and the environment. But he’s not just talking about them, he’s taking action. And he is full of optimism and positivity; striving always to make some impact, get things rolling – even though a complete solution may not yet be possible, it’s all a move in the right direction. Better to do something than nothing. And I think he will continue in this vein when he is King – as much as the role allows.”

But like most things, there is a fine balancing act to be struck, and Jennie believes this will be between him moving forward into the modern era, while at the same time retaining tradition.

She said: “I don’t think he is comfortable with all the pomp and pageantry, although I think he will retain the grandeur of great military occasions like Trooping the Colour. I cannot, though, see his coronation being anything like as grand and – let’s face it, frankly really rather bizarre – as that of his father or grandmother.

“He has to strike a balance, I suppose, between the monarchy being absolutely down with the kids, taking selfies and larking around with the crowds, and the dignity of the institution. But I think we will see a King who is immensely relatable – despite his wealth and elite status.

“He has said in the past if he cannot work to make some sort of difference in the world, then what’s the point of him? And I think he’s right. He has to be more than a figurehead, or a mouthpiece for the country in times of crisis or jubilation. He wants and needs to use his platform to make this country a better place to live.”

She was rushed to h0sp1tal   on March 17 this year after overdosing, and sadly d13d five days later, MEN reported.

Her mother Jill Dawson described her as a “beautiful daughter” and “model student”.

An inquest into her d3@th at Bolton Coroners’ Court found that the dancer intentionally t00k h3r 0wn l1fe when she knew her wife would not be home to stop her.

The inquest was told she suffered with m3ntal h3alth pr0blems for “quite some time”.

The talented performer made Ant and Dec crack up when her costume was ripped off by two male dancers to reveal a Union Jack b0dysu1t.

Chantel also won over the nation’s heart when she taught Strictly star Anton Du Beke how to tap dance.

She posted a clip at the time and wrote: “Great day teaching Anton some tap.”

Chantel was a talented dancer and performed in musicals including the Paris production of 42nd Street.

She had also featured in the UK tour of The Greatest Showman and worked as an entertainer on cruise ships.

The 34-year-old lived in Widnes, Cheshire, and taught dance and singing in recent years.

Shortly before her trag1c d3@th, Chantel started working in a supermarket and was a teaching assistant.

Her family said: “Chantel was more than a daughter, wife, sister, niece, cousin and friend. She was a kind, loving, and passionate spirit who brought joy and laughter to so many.

“Chantel was a talent second to none who was the life and soul of every party.”

Close pal Katy Glover previously paid tribute to her and said: “She was such a whirlwind, the life and soul of the party and such a bundle of life.

“She lived and breathed glamour and showbiz and she was a fantastic tap dancer, she did a number of Britain’s Got Talent which she loved, and she kept telling everyone.

“Chantel said she’d had a brilliant time and treated it as another audition because she was so professional, and she was so determined.

“She also taught Anton Du Beke tap as well because tap was her life, she was the best tapper out there.

“She was incredible, one of a kind, sparkly and loving and loyal.

“She sang and danced but tap was her niche, and she loved all the glitz and glam.

“42nd Street was her favourite musical, and she was delighted to be part of it, and it was one of the highlights of her career. She just lived to perform.”

Glastonbury crowds chant foul-mouthed anti-Keir Starmer chant during rowdy set

The UK Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, had previously criticised the hip-hop trio Kneecap and their inclusion in the Glastonbury line-up.

Kneecap led an anti-Keir Starmer chant during their Glastonbury set on Saturday. The Irish hip-hop group took to the West Holts stage and reiterated their political stance against the Prime Minister, who had previously criticised the band’s inclusion in the festival line-up. Prior to their set, Sir Keir said that Kneecap’s gig would not be “appropriate” after one of the members was charged with a t3rr0r 0ff3nce. The BBC confirmed that they would not be live-streaming Kneecap’s performance. The band then addressed the Glastonbury crowd during their gig, saying: “F***ing love the English people. It’s the English Government we don’t like. We’re not far away from a Celtic republic. F*** Keir Starmer.”

The three artists then chanted in unison, “F*** Keir Starmer! F*** Keir Starmer! F*** Keir Starmer!” The huge crowd reportedly joined in with the chant, and Kneecap then performed their controversial soundtrack, Get Your Brits Out.

Also, earlier in their performance, Mo Chara, whose real name is Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, declared, “Palestinian Action isn’t arming Israel. That’s Keir Starmer.”

A BBC spokesperson stated: “As the broadcast partner, the BBC is bringing audiences extensive music coverage from Glastonbury, with artists booked by the festival organisers.

“While the BBC doesn’t ban artists, our plans ensure that our programming meets our editorial guidelines. We don’t always live-stream every act from the main stages and look to make an on-demand version of Kneecap’s performance available on our digital platforms, alongside more than 90 other sets.”

Good Morning Britain viewers have demanded an apology from Kate Garraway after a ‘rude’ snub directed at her ITV co-star.

Friday’s instalment of the daily news programme saw Kate, 58, present with co-host Robert Rinder, 47.

As the pair covered the top stories of the day, they introduced reporter Gargy Patel who was broadcasting live from Westminster.

However, the presenter made the mistake of accidentally calling Gargy the wrong name, and instead referred to her as her colleague Ranvir Singh at the end of the segment.

She said: ‘Ranvir, thank you very much indeed.’

The blunder didn’t appear to be noticed by those in the ITV set but viewers were quick to point it out on social media.

One penned on X: ‘Oops! Kate just called Gargy Patel, Ranvir by mistake.’

Another added: ‘Kate called her ‘Ranvir’ hmm she was not impressed. Apologise.’

While someone else commented: ‘@GMB did Kate just call that reporter Ranvir on a purpose… Was she being rude?????’

It comes after viewers were left ‘wincing’ as Kate Garraway made a ‘disrespectful and insensitive’ joke at the worst possible time.

A previous episode of the ITV breakfast news show saw the presenter with co-host Adil Ray, 51, report a particularly sad story to viewers.

It was about British grandmother Yvonne Ford, 59, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, who sadly di3d from rabies this week.

Kate explained: ‘Did you see this extraordinary story about a woman, she was scratched very slightly by a stray dog whilst on holiday in February, that long ago, in Morocco.

‘It wasn’t even a particularly bad one at the time. It didn’t seem to be infected. Then two weeks ago, she started to feel very unwell, has now passed away.’

Before making an ill-timed quip, she added: ‘It’s made people very conscious because rabies is something we don’t think about very much. It is astonishing.’

It came as she mentioned TV doctor Hilary Jones, 72, who often appears on the show for health and wellbeing segments.

The blunder didn't appear to be noticed by those in the ITV set but viewers were quick to point it out on social media

She said: ‘I mean, what the doctors say, if I can do my Dr Hilary at the moment for a bit, is make sure you get an inoculation.

‘But also, if you have any kind of scratch from any kind of wild animal or animal abroad, get treatments right away, because then it can be stopped.’

Rabies – which is passed on through injuries such as bites and scratches from an infected animal – is nearly always fatal.

It typically takes between three to 12 weeks for symptoms to show but can also take longer in some cases.

Viewers picked up on Kate’s jokey reference to pretending to be Dr Hilary and felt the tone was not tasteful given the nature of the story.

One wrote on X: ‘Classy Kate cracking a rabies joke just after reporting on a rabies death.’

Someone replied: ‘Noticed that too – made me wince. So insensitive.’

‘I fast in the day just to keep the weight off. I feel like if you fast, it’s good for your body as well.

‘But it’s a struggle. Mondays are s**te anyway.

‘So you know you got to look forward to your dinner on a Monday. But I do fast during the day until the afternoon.’

Danny added: ‘Just liquids so your body can start to eat itself. You’ve got to drink plenty of water while you’re doing it and it does work.’
