The BBC has confirmed that it has “no plans” to renew a show that featured Wynne Evans after his exit from the Strictly Come Dancing tour and his radio show. It’s been suggested that it has now cut its last remaining ties with him.

Following several scandals during his time on Strictly last year and its subsequent tour, it was announced last month that Wynne, 53, would not be returning to his BBC Radio Wales show. A spokesperson for the BBC shared at the time that there were also “no plans” to work with the presenter.

It’s now been specifically confirmed that TV show Wynne & Joanna: All at Sea isn’t set to return after one series. The six-part project, which launched on BBC One in January, saw Wynne and Joanna Page, 48, sail along the southern coast of Wales from the capital city Cardiff to St Davids.

The first series of Wynne’s show with Gavin and Stacey star Joanna ended in February. After previously saying it had no plans to work with him, a spokesperson for the BBC told the Mirror tonight that there are “no plans” for a second series.

Wynne Evans, in a yellow shirt and navy shorts, sat beside Joanna Page, in a blue dress, on a boat.

A source told the Sun that the decision to not renew the travel show after its debut series “marks the end” of a relationship between Wynne and the broadcaster. They added that he has no TV or radio projects with them now.

The source said: “Once the first series was slapped on ice, there was always a huge question mark hanging over the prospect of a second outing. Only now has the BBC publicly confirmed it won’t be returning.” They told the outlet: “It means that Wynne has no TV show or radio show with the Beeb, and effectively marks the end of their relationship.”

Wynne competed on Strictly last year with Katya Jones, 36, as his dance partner. They apologised whilst on the show for what he described as them “messing around,” including over a scene of him with his hand on Katya’s waist.

Then, whilst on the tour earlier this year, it was reported that he had apologised for using “inappropriate and unacceptable” language amid reports that he used the term ‘sp1t r0ast’ to host Janette Manrara, 41, at a photocall. Wynne has since insisted that it was instead part of a nickname for co-star Jamie Borthwick, 31, and “wasn’t meant sexually”.

Wynne subsequently left the tour and his radio show though after the scandal broke in January. As reported at the time, he said in a statement then: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.

“I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”

More recently, last month, he announced that he wouldn’t be returning to his BBC Radio show following his departure months prior. Wynne told fans that he would instead launch the Wynne Evans Show elsewhere.

He said in a statement: “From the very depths of my heart – thank you. These past few months, your love has been the light in my darkest days. Every message, every word of encouragement, every moment you stood by me has carried me through more than you could ever know.”

He told fans: “It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract so I won’t be returning to my radio show. I’m gutted. That show wasn’t just work – it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes. Into your hearts.”

In a statement at the time, the BBC said: “Wynne Evans is not under contract with the BBC.” The spokesperson added: “He is not returning to the mid-morning show on BBC Radio Wales and there are currently no plans to work with him.”

Coronation Street confirms Christina Boyd’s CONTROVERSIAL return – Corrie fans fear for Jenny’s fate!

CORONATION Street is bringing back a fan-favourite character for a long stint this summer – and she’s already started filming.

The ITV soap has tempted scene-stealer Amy Robbins to reprise her role as Christina Boyd for a major new storyline.

Actress Amy made her apparently final exit as the nightmare mother of former Rovers barmaid Daisy Midgeley earlier this year as part of Daisy’s exit storyline.

But now The Sun can exclusively reveal that Amy is back playing Christina once again – and she’ll be back on screen soon.

A source said: “Amy is back and has returned to filming.

“Obviously with Charlotte leaving it would have been easy to think you’d never see her again but the character is so juicy that everyone jumped at the chance to have her back.

“Christina will be back to her usual tricks causing chaos on the cobbles.

“There’s going to be some incredible scenes with her and Jenny clashing.

“And this time she’s back for a long stint. She returned to filming recently and she’ll be back on screen later this summer.

“It’s definitely going to be explosive.”

Christina was last seen on the cobbles in May when her daughter Daisy got the better of her and took Jenny Connor’s money for herself.

While Daisy is now living the life of riley abroad on the cash, Christina was left penniless after trying to double-cross her daughter.

Coronation Street’s Christina curses Daisy’s wedding by inviting bullies
And she’ll be back in Weatherfield to come face to face with Jenny once more.

But who will come out on top between the battle of the Rovers icons?

Coronation Street has been contacted for comment.

Lorraine Stanley – Former Eastenders star stuns fans with her dramatic transformation – Reveals her 5-month battle journey!

EASTENDERS’ Lorraine Stanley looks slimmer than ever after undergoing a dramatic five stone weight loss.

Lorraine, 48, who recently hit out at fab jab claims, put on a jaw-dropping display in a tie-dye grey dress with her 10-year-old daughter, Nancy.

The mother-daughter-duo busted some moves to a song set to slow motion in their kitchen in an Instagram Story.

Lorraine, who shares Nancy with her partner Mark Perez, flashed a beaming smile while dancing away with the sprog.

The soap star has been putting her new physique on full display in recent times.

Just last month, she sported a slimming flower print crop top and trousers combo as she partied the night away at a special bingo event.

Underneath the tied top, she donned a skin-tight white vest which only emphasised her tiny waist.

For shoes, Lorraine opted for complimentary open-toe leather platform strapped heels for the occasion.

Alongside flaunting her physique, the star also opened up on a huge new milestone in her life.

She captioned the snap: “5 months sober & still had a good night dancing! #Sobriety.”

The TV star also told how her changing figure was not down to popular weight loss jabs like Ozempic or Mounjaro.

Instead, Lorraine opted for a gastric sleeve operation.

One inquisitive fan on TikTok asked for Lorraine’s secret, to which she simply answered back in the comments: “Gastric sleeve.”

A gastric sleeve is a weight loss procedure that removes a significant portion of the stomach, creating a smaller, sleeve-shaped pouch.

The actress was written out of Eastenders in 2023 after seven years on the show in a huge shock to fans.

Her character’s axing was as part of a shock cast shake-up and her final scenes were aired in December of that year.

She went onto reprise her fan-favourite role a number of times in 2024 before her last episode hit BBC screens in June.

Scottish presenter Lorraine Kelly has shared a sweet family update, away from the ongoing drama at ITV. The 65-year-old host, who welcomes famous faces onto her self-named talk show, is a doting mum and grandmother off-screen.

This weekend she congratulated her daughter’s other half, Steve White, on cracking out an impressive achievement. Sharing a snap of him holding up a medal, dressed in sporting gear including some sunglasses and a cap, Lorraine shared how proud she was feeling. She emotionally penned: “Very proud of @stevewhite94 for running his first ultramarathon in searing 33 degree heat! Well done! #congrats #ultramarathon #heat #grit.”

Lorraine Kelly’s daughter, Rosie, gave birth to a baby girl named Billie in September last year. Rosie and her fiancé, Steve, announced the birth on social media.

Announcing the birth on Instagram, the new mum posted a sweet photograph of the newborn clutching her mum’s finger. In her gushing caption, she wrote: “It feels like she’s been here the whole time and we’re not quite sure what the point of anything was before. I’d heard how amazing midwives are but they are genuinely walking angels – she’s been welcomed into the world with so much love already.”

Sharing Rosie’s post to her own Instagram, Lorraine, whose married name is Lorraine Smith, proudly wrote: “I have been BURSTING to share this wonderful news with you!

“Baby Billie is an angel and I’m so proud of [Rosie] and [Steve] who will be the best parents. I’m delighted to be Granny Smith and can’t wait to go on adventures. #love#joy#happiness#family”

The lovely family update comes as Lorraine is facing a fair bit of drama at work. It was announced recently that her show has been impacted by cuts at ITV. The talk show will see a reduction in the length and frequency. From January, it will be shortened from one hour to just 30 minutes and broadcast for only 30 weeks of the year, with the remaining time being taken over by rival show Good Morning Britain.

There were also calls for the TV host to be sacked last week, after her reaction to the d3ath of Queen of Clean, Kim Woodburn.

Speaking to viewers live from the studio, Lorraine said: “Welcome back. Some news just breaking in the last few minutes – Kim Woodburn, who I’m sure you know, well she’s di3d at the age of 83. Famous of course for How Clean is Your House? and her controversial time on Celebrity Big Brother.

“A representative for Kim said: ‘It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved Kim Woodburn passed away yesterday following a short illness,’” Lorraine read out, before dropping the subject completely and saying cheerily: “Right, it is ten past nine!”

Fans at home said that the segment was “disrespectful” as the presenter did not even pretend to be sad over the tragic news.

The trip that changed Queen Elizabeth’s destiny – What really happened in South Africa, 1947?

The trip that changed Queen Elizabeth’s destiny – What really happened in South Africa, 1947?

It was the then-Princess Elizabeth’s first trip abroad – but her tour of South Africa would become important for so many other reasons.

With the memory of World War Two still very raw and King George VI worn out by the toll of guiding his country through the conflict, the spring 1947 tour of South Africa was seen as the perfect opportunity for the Royal Family to enjoy some well-earned sunshine.

On top of this, the trip took on more personal and formal reasons. The King wanted to travel down to the dominion to thank the more than 300,000 South African servicemen who were part of the war effort.

On a personal note, the King was keen to enjoy a family holiday with just ‘us four’ – as George described his family unit – fully aware that in July, Elizabeth’s engagement to Philip would be announced, forever altering their family dynamic.

In his biography titled ‘Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, royal insider Hugo Vickers revealed the royals were torn about whether to go on the trip due to issues at home and abroad.

Many Britons were struggling to get by with rationing still in place and country effectively bankrupt. Meanwhile, unrest was growing across the British Empire with many colonies actively seeking independence.

Vickers said: ‘The King and Queen felt uneasy about sailing away from Britain when it was wracked with economic hardship.’

The country had also been battered by one of the coldest winters in living memory and the King felt ‘guilty heading for the sun while Britain froze’, said Vickers.

However, then-Prime Minister Clement Attlee convinced George not to cancel the trip and so in January 1947 the Royal Family departed for Portsmouth aboard the HMS Vanguard.

Joining the royals on the 30-day voyage was an army of personal including a crew of 1,715 as well as three private secretaries, three ladies-in-waiting, a medical officer and a press secretary.

The royals also had a full personal and clerical staff from London at their disposal including hairdressers, valets, maids and dressers.

Their journey to the southern hemisphere was far from pleasant, with the rough weather meaning the family spent much of the journey sat in the sun lounge watching waves crash against the ship.

The heavy seas even damaged the Vanguard as it travelled through the Bay of Biscay off the coast of France.

Just two years after the end of the Second World War, there were also concerns about unexploded mines in the ocean.

But for the young Elizabeth, she had other things on her mind.

With her engagement to Philip set to be announced in July, royal author Andrew Morton claims that the ‘lovesick’ Elizabeth was ‘distracted and reluctant to fulfil her duties’.

In his book ‘Elizabeth and Margaret’, Morton claims the future Queen ‘moped’ and was ‘very eager for mail throughout the tour’.

Once they arrived in South Africa in February, the Royal Family travelled for 10,000 miles, mostly by train, and visited 400 cities.

King George’s most important constitutional duty of the tour was the opening of the South African parliament.

The visit came at a crucial moment politically for the then-Prime Minister of South Africa Jan Smuts who – according to Vickers – saw the visit as a moment to unite his country ahead of the upcoming 1948 election.

    article image

Smuts’s more moderate United Party would be defeated by the white supremacist National Party in the subsequent poll who went on to implement the racist policies of Apartheid, which would not be fully repealed until the 1990s.

For Elizabeth, the trip proved that even at just 21 years old she was a true monarch-in-waiting. As the young Princess gave one of her most famous speeches over the radio to mark her birthday.

In the broadcast, she promised Britons that her ‘whole life whether it be long or short’ would be devoted to their service.

Royal writer Valentine Low revealed in his 2022 book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind The Throne that the future Queen was made so emotional by the stirring words that she cried.

Alan Lascelles, private secretary to her father, said to her: ‘Good, for if it makes you cry now, it will make 200million other people cry when you deliver it, and that is what we want.’

Incredibly, a draft of the speech was briefly lost in a bar in Cape Town the month before Elizabeth delivered the words.

    article image

When it was found, Lascelles wrote to Dermot Morrah, the journalist who wrote the speech, to tell him: ‘The missing letter has now turned up. The steward in the Protea diner had put it in the bar, among his bottles, little knowing that it was itself of premier cru.’

He went on to praise Morrah for the quality of the speech. Lascelles said: ‘I have been reading drafts for many years now, but I cannot recall one that has so completely satisfied me and left me feeling that no single word should be altered.

‘Moreover, dusty cynic though I am, it moved me greatly. It has the trumpet ring of the other Elizabeth’s Tilbury speech, combined with the immortal simplicity of Victoria’s “I will be good”.’

Elizabeth began her birthday speech, which was delivered from Government House in Cape Town, by saying: ‘On my 21st birthday I welcome the opportunity to speak to all the peoples of the British Commonwealth and Empire, wherever they live, whatever race they come from, and whatever language they speak.

‘Let me begin by saying “thank you” to all the thousands of kind people who have sent me messages of good will. This is a happy day for me; but it is also one that brings serious thoughts, thoughts of life looming ahead with all its challenges and with all its opportunity.

‘At such a time it is a great help to know that there are multitudes of friends all round the world who are thinking of me and who wish me well. I am grateful and I am deeply moved.’

She went on to mention the six-year conflict with Nazi Germany, saying: ‘We must not be daunted by the anxieties and hardships that the war has left behind for every nation of our commonwealth.

‘We know that these things are the price we cheerfully undertook to pay for the high honour of standing alone, seven years ago, in defence of the liberty of the world.

‘Let us say with Rupert Brooke: “Now God be thanked who has matched us with this hour”.’

But it was her prophetic concluding words that made the speech so historic.

Elizabeth said: ‘I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.

‘But I shall not have strength to carry out this resolution alone unless you join in it with me, as I now invite you to do: I know that your support will be unfailingly given.

‘God help me to make good my vow, and God bless all of you who are willing to share in it.’

Too offensive for TV? BBC slaps warnings on 5 episodes of The Office, sparking viewer backlash!

The BBC has slapped another beloved sitcom with trigger warnings as five episodes have been flagged for ‘d1scrim1natory language’.

The Office, the hit mockumentary sitcom created by comedians Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, famously stars Ricky as paper company boss David Brent.

Both series of the noughties programme were already labelled with a G symbol on BBC iPlayer, which flags parental guidance for younger viewers.

But nearly half of the BBC series’ 14 episodes, following life at Wernham Hogg’s Slough office, now also carry the additional content notice.

In series one, which aired in 2001, the first and last episodes – Downsize and Judgement – bear the alert.

Meanwhile, a whopping half of the second series, released in 2002, has been hit with trigger warnings – episodes one, three and five, named Merger, Party and Charity.

The Office, now considered one of the best British sitcoms of all time, took home a whole host of awards when it first hit our screens.

It won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy in 2004, making it the first ever British comedy to take home a gong at the ceremony.

Ricky also received the Golden Globe for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy in the same year.

Its success lead to an American spin-off version in 2005, starring Steve Carell in the equivalent of Ricky’s role.

The US programme ran to an impressive nine series and just over 200 episodes, ending in 2013.

The British version of The Office is just the latest of a run of sitcoms and classic TV shows to be hit with trigger warnings.

Only Fools and Horses was hit with various disclaimers around ‘racial language’, words that ‘may offend’ and ‘dated attitudes and behaviours’ earlier this year.

Only two of seven series of the eighties hit show – which is available to watch on ITV and often reruns on digital channel U&Gold – did not have any episodes at all slapped with the warnings.

Meanwhile, a series of episodes of the third series of Doctor Who, which had previously been declared ‘missing from the archives’, was also hit with a warning back in April.

The lost instalments, called The Savages, which star the first ever Time Lord William Hartnell, first aired back in 1966, with an animated remake released on DVD in March.

But it was put out with a string of warnings attached from the British Board of Film Classification, saying it contained ‘verbal references to discrimination and the d1scr1minatory social structure of an alien society’.

Also, ITV put a notice on some episodes of beloved seventies show George And Mildred in March – saying they contain ‘classic British humour from a bygone era’.

The show, which ran for five series from 1976 until 1979, follows George and Mildred Roper, played by Yootha Joyce and Brian Murphy, a constantly-sparring married couple.

And the broadcaster was ridiculed for over-protecting its viewers, with Free Speech Union founder Toby Young saying: ‘George And Mildred? Really? What’s next?

‘The Magic Roundabout on the grounds that viewers with hyperactivity disorder may find the character of Zebedee triggering?’

Other shows that have been hit with similar warnings include Fawlty Towers, ‘Allo ‘Allo, Terry and June, The IT Crowd, Hi-de-Hi! and Father Ted.

Just last month fans were left shocked when it was revealed that the two programmes have been axed for half the year as ITV announced a big shake up to its daytime schedule due to cuts.

The shows have been filmed at the well-known Television Centre in Shepherds Bush, west London, since 2018.

But now it’s time for change, because according to The Sun, This Morning, Loose Women and Lorraine will be filmed at The Hospital Club in Convent Garden.

A source told the publication: ‘ITV are on a major budget saving mission and have landed a new deal to film ITV Daytime at what was The Hospital Club.

‘It’s quite apt really as I’m sure they hope the move to the former hospital will breathe some life into their programme budgets.

‘All three of their main shows, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will be based there… in the basement where there’s a state of the art studio.’

‘The changes are needed to keep up with the ever evolving world of TV but it’s a far cry from the plush life stars have become accustomed to at White City.’

An ITV source added: ‘We have always said that when the changes to our daytime schedule take place in 2026 that these programmes will find a new home.

‘The new studio is not yet confirmed and when it is we will obviously communicate that news to our staff first.’

A source told MailOnline: ‘We have always said that when the changes to our daytime schedule take place in 2026 that Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will broadcast from a new central London location.

‘The new studio is not yet confirmed and when it is we will obviously communicate that news to our staff first.’

ITV bosses announced huge cuts with job losses in excess of 220 in May.

Good Morning Britain has taken Lorraine’s slot between 9 and 10am for 22 weeks of the year.

This means that Lorraine will present for the remaining 30 weeks of the year.

Just last month fans were left shocked when it was revealed that the two programmes have been axed for half the year as ITV announced a big shake up to its daytime schedule due to cuts

The show will only last half an hour, meaning that it will start at 9:30am.

And that host Lorraine Kelly will host all of those, meaning that her step-in hosts Ranvir Singh, 47, and Christine Lampard, 46, will no longer be needed.

As of now, This Morning – hosted by Ben Shephard, 50, Cat Deeley, 48, Alison Hammond, 50, and Dermot O’Leary, 52 – remains untouched.

Earlier this month it was revealed that Loose Women has also axed a vital part of the show – that there will no longer be a live audience.

A TV source told MailOnline: ‘The panelists are really upset over the decision to axe the live studio audience from the show.

‘It’s what sets the series apart from the rest of ITV daytime and now there are massive fears that viewers will switch off completely.

‘The only concern now is to cut costs and having a live studio audience can be expensive, with the added need for security and a warmup artist.

‘Presenters already know how it feels to broadcast the show without an audience because that’s what happened during the pandemic, and they all know it creates low mood and lack of atmosphere.’

Loose Women star admits being ‘devastated’ by ITV cutbacks

And Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha has admitted that she’s ‘totally devastated’ after revealing her ‘dear friend’ has been axed from the ITV show.

Addressing the change on a recent episode of her podcast Coffee Moaning, alongside her husband Mark Adeley, Nadia said: ‘From next year there will be no Loose Women audience.

‘I am totally devastated by this fact, I can’t get over it at all. Not only because the audience is so important for the show, but also my dear friend Lee who I work with every day.’

Comedian, broadcaster and presenter Lee Peart has been part of the team after joining the programme as the warm-up act in 2017.

An insider said: ‘While there is a proposal to not have a studio audience for Loose Women from 2026, that doesn’t necessarily mean that we’ll never have a studio audience again, it just won’t be in the same way as it is now.’

Why BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty Remains Untouched Despite Viewer-Outraging Allegations?

Naga Munchetty made her first appearance on Blankety Blank amid the BBC Breakfast bully1ng probe.

The news presenter featured on Saturday’s instalment of the iconic game show, hosted by Bradley Walsh.

Other guests included Great British Bake Off star Sue Perkins, This Morning’s Dermot O’LearyIain Stirling, Paralympian Ellie Simmonds and Layton Williams.

However, many viewers were focused on Naga, as her Blankety Blank debut comes as she finds herself reportedly accused of bully1ng a member of staff, according to The Sun, and allegedly was spoken to by bosses over a s3x jibe she made while off-air at BBC Radio 5 Live.

Naga’s representatives have been approached for comment and it is unclear whether she will rebut the claims in The Sun.

BBC Breakfast is also reportedly undergoing a bully1ng probe which was launched into BBC Breakfast, with much of the upset centred around its editor Richard Frediani.

Watchers took to social media to share their thoughts and one posted on X: ‘Naga Munchetty on Blankety Blank after the headlines she’s been making someone at the bbc will get fired for that #bbc #blanketyblank.’

Someone else added: ‘Naga hasn’t been cancelled yet then #blanketyblank.’

‘Bad timing to feature Naga #BlanketyBlank,’ one viewer said, followed by a laughing face emoji.

While according to the Express, another penned: ‘Corrr, can’t believe they put Naga on Blankety Blank after this week. Bit bad timing init?’

According to The Sun, Naga used a slang term for a s3x act during an off-air break.

The alleged remark in 2022 was said to have stunned the studio and led to Naga being spoken to by bosses.

It was then reported that on BBC Breakfast last year, Naga was spoken to over alleged bully1ng of a woman.

The BBC are now reportedly facing questions over whether there are ‘double standards’.

However, many viewers were focused on Naga, as her Blankety Blank debut comes as she finds herself reportedly accused of bullying a member of staff, according to The Sun , and allegedly was spoken to by bosses over a sex jibe she made while off-air at BBC Radio 5 Live

When contacted by MailOnline, a BBC spokesperson said: ‘While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously.’

MailOnline previously contacted a representative for Naga Munchetty for comment.

While in April, MailOnline exclusively revealed some staff had expressed unhappiness with the show’s bullish editor Richard Frediani, accusing him of being on occasion ‘aggressive’ and ‘belittling’ towards his underlings.

Meanwhile, it’s being claimed by The Sun that tensions between two of Breakfast’s hosts, Naga and Charlie, are threatening to explode, due to their opposing views behind the scenes.

It’s thought that the show’s staff are feeling increasingly ‘uneasy’ around boss Frediani if they are not a person he favours, and host Naga is reportedly ‘at her wits end’ over the tensions.

Sources also claim that Frediani feels he is ‘untouchable’ after the show scooped a BAFTA Television Award in May.

It’s also being claimed that some staff avoid being left alone with him following an allegation last year that he physically shook a lower-ranking female editor, with the complaint upheld following a BBC investigation.

A source said: ‘The probe into Fredi’s bully1ng is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to BBC Breakfast.

‘In reality, the smiles on the red sofa mask growing tension and an increasingly toxic culture, driven from the top down, with its unwitting presenters at the heart.

‘Naga is incredibly approachable and friendly to everyone on set. Charlie is very professional and tries to disengage from any politics. But some stars, like Sally Nugent, are loved by Fredi, whereas others, like Naga and Charlie, are not.

‘Frankly, he can be mildly terrifying if you’re on the wrong side of him.’

The source went onto claim that some younger staff are choosing to ‘keep their heads down and weather the storm’ due to fears for their jobs.

A BBC spokesperson told the publication: ‘While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously and will not tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values.

‘We have robust processes in place and would encourage any staff with concerns to raise them directly with us so they can be addressed.’

Oscar Branning and Max Branning – a father-son reunion after 8 years sets EastEnders ablaze!

Oscar Branning is heading back to Albert Square after eight years away from EastEnders.

The character, who hasn’t featured in a storyline since 2017, is being recast with newcomer Pierre Moullier stepping into the role previously played by Charlee Hall.

Oscar is the son of Tanya Branning, who left Walford years ago to escape her volatile marriage, taking a young Oscar with her.

His last on-screen appearance was a fleeting one nearly a decade ago, when he returned briefly to celebrate Father’s Day with Max at the Queen Vic.

Now 17, Oscar has mostly stayed out of the family chaos in the past, unlike his sisters Lauren and Abi.

But with his return next month, it looks like drama is on the horizon – and this time, Oscar may be stepping into the spotlight himself.

Sharing his excitement about joining the soaps cast, Pierre told The Mirror: ‘It’s pretty surreal to join EastEnders – it keeps hitting me that I’m actually on Albert Square.

‘Oscar is so much fun to play, and the audience should be prepared for the unexpected as he’s a complex guy!’

Meanwhile executive producer Ben Wadey gushed: ‘I’m very excited to bring Oscar Branning back to Walford and introduce viewers to him now that he’s all grown up.’

Ben promised plenty of drama as he brings Oscar’s character back to life for viewers.

But Oscar’s character is not the only one to be making a comeback, actor Jake Wood is also set to reprise his role as Max Branning later this year.

His return comes a year after he celebrated being sober for over 20 years in December 2023.

The actor, 52, opened up about his past struggles with alcohol as he filmed himself from his hot tub while reflecting on life.

The soap star wore a woolly hat as he enjoyed a cigar while sending an inspirational message to his followers.

BREAKING NEWS: Meghan’s photographer drops b0mbshell exposing fashion industry’s dark side – A Truth that’s Outraging The UK!

Prince Harry and Meghan caused outrage when they accused unnamed members of the Royal Family of rac1sm in their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

Now, their wedding photographer has made his own accusations of rac1al prejudice against unnamed figures in the beauty industry.

Alexi Lubomirski, who is white, claims that one senior magazine editor told him: ‘Black girls don’t carry high fashion.’

He says the Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o first alerted him to the insidious issue of rac1sm in showbusiness when he photographed her.

‘She said to me, “I really love these pictures. Can you make sure, when they’re retouching the photos, they don’t lighten my skin?”

‘I said, “Yeah, of course”. But I began to look at past shoots I’d done with darker-skinned models and I noticed that there was a definite difference between the images I’d submitted to magazines compared to the images that came out.

‘When I looked through my archives, I also noticed how rarely I’d been allowed to shoot different types of beauty, rather than just Caucasian girls.’

Lubomirski, 50, who also took the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s official engagement photos, is descended from Polish ar1stocracy. He says he was told that women of colour don’t sell magazines.

Alexi Lubomirski (pictured) claims that one senior magazine editor told him: ‘Black girls don’t carry high fashion’

‘I would ask these editors-in-chiefs, and I’d say, “Why don’t you let me photograph dark-skinned girls on covers?”. And they’d say, “It comes down to economics, Alexi. We know that if we put a dark-skinned girl on the cover, we’re going to sell 40 per cent less copies.”

‘And I said, “Why do you think that is?” They said, “Well, probably because we don’t put them on the cover that much”, and I said, “Right, exactly.”

‘Then one editor-in-chief told me, “Listen, Alexi, the fact is, dark-skinned girls and other ethnicity can’t carry high fashion”.’

Alexi, who lives in New York with his wife and two sons, was recounting the story behind his decision to create his 2016 photobook, Diversity, featuring photos of mixed ethnicities.

He says: ‘I did end up losing a bunch of magazine jobs, because nobody wanted to have that conversation.

‘They didn’t want to be made to feel guilty about the fact that they were just putting Caucasian girls on the cover.’

Angela Rayner’s message to PM at G7 after run-in with Larry the Cat

While Sir Keir Starmer must grapple with the terrifying new war in the Middle East, the Prime Minister has not taken his eye off dangers closer to home.

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner debriefed the Labour leader after television footage was broadcast last week showing her chauffeur narrowly avoiding mowing down Larry the Cat, No 10’s resident moggy, while driving Rayner from Downing Street.

‘Angela had a close encounter,’ Sir Keir admits in an interview with Peter Cardwell for the former special adviser’s forthcoming book, Political Animals, about the secret lives of the dogs and cats of Westminster and Washington.

‘I was at the G7 in Canada and Angela actually sent me the clip with a message saying, “All under control here, boss!”’

Lady Violet settles down to married life

As one of society’s most spirited partygoers, Lady Violet Manners was never likely to be a shy and retiring bride.

And the Duke of Rutland’s eldest daughter, 31, who exchanged vows with Bill Garnock, 34, a Scottish viscount, at the weekend, joined the band on stage at her wedding reception party.

She could be found dancing wildly with her pal Rosanna Falconer on stage next to a set of bongo drums.

The raucous bash was held in the cellar at Lady Violet’s ancestral home, Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire. She made a more demure appearance earlier on in the day in her Phillipa Lepley gown and the Rutland tiara.

    Andy Murray bans audience’s phones

What does Sir Andy Murray have to hide?

The tennis star is giving a talk at Wimbledon Theatre this weekend with one surprising condition imposed on members of the audience – their mobile phones must be put under lock and key during the performance.

‘Given the exclusive and intimate nature of this event, the show will be a phoneless experience and all mobiles will be placed in lockable Yondr pouches,’ ticket holders are told.

Promoters promise that the former World No 1 and double Olympic gold medal winner will ‘recount intimate and untold moments’ from his illustrious career in the ‘unforgettable live experience’, for which tickets cost between £45 and £78.

Served up in his usual upbeat and fizzing style, no doubt.
