Lawrence Jones praised as 'the future' after he joined Fox & Friends for his first day since becoming permanent co-host | The US SunIn a change to its morning show, Fox News is adding Lawrence Jones as a co-anchor of Fox & Friends, where he will join longtime hosts Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade and Ainsley Earhardt on weekday mornings.

Jones will also continue in his role as the program’s enterprise reporter. His weekend show Lawrence Jones Cross Country will end with his new promotion, with Kilmeade taking over the 9 p.m. Saturday time slot.

Lawrence Jones joins 'Fox & Friends' fulltime

“I am honored to become a part of the cable news legacy Fox News has created with Fox & Friends, the very show where I made my first ever national television appearance,” Jones said in a statement. “It is truly a privilege to inform our audience every day and I can’t wait to do so each morning.”

Fox says that Jones, 30, is the “youngest Black co-host in cable news” with the promotion. Doocy and Kilmeade have co-hosted the morning show since 1998, while Earhardt joined in 2016. Former co-hosts include Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Gretchen Carlson.

Jones is the latest example of Fox making tweaks to its lineup, following its primetime reshuffling this summer, which was made after the ouster of 8 p.m. host Tucker Carlson in the spring. Dan Bongino and Steve Hilton also left Fox’s weekend lineup, with the channel expanding Mark Levin’s hours. And earlier this week, the channel extended anchor Bret Baier’s contract.

And he is also the latest tweak in the TV news morning show wars, where Fox & Friends has long been the cable news leader (ABC’s Good Morning America has won the broadcast morning battle of late). While MSNBC’s Morning Joe has been stable, CNN added Phil Mattingly and Kasie Hunt earlier this summer. NBC’s Today show added Laura Jarrett as a co-anchor, and will move the program from Washington, D.C., back to New York.

Since joining Fox News in 2018, Lawrence B. Jones has been working his way up the ranks. The political commentator began hosting his own show, Cross Country, in 2022; the following year, he landed a permanent co-hosting position on the weekday edition of Fox & Friends as a permanent co-host.

It’s obvious he’s a fan-favorite, but there’s someone else fans love even more: Lawrence’s dog, Nala. Read on to learn more about the canine! Plus, stick around to find out why Cross Country was canceled.

Let’s meet Lawrence Jones’s service dog, Nala!

On Sept. 17, 2022, Lawrence introduced Nala to the world. He posted three photos of the adorable pup on Instagram, and it’s safe to say everyone instantly fell in love with her. Nala has since become a staple on Lawrence’s social media pages, but believe it or not, he didn’t open up about her until a few months later.

During the March 28, 2023, episode of Ride to Work With Abby Hornacek, the Texas native shared his love for his dog, telling the titular host, “Nala has been a gift to me.”

Lawrence then explained how he met Nala, telling Abby, “I got assigned this story of this Special Forces operator dog named Raptor, and Raptor is one of the most decorated canines, especially during the war on terror.”

“And so, me and Raptor formed this connection,” he continued. “[She’s a] very tough dog, but she just would not leave me alone, and so the Special Forces operator looks at me and goes, ‘I feel like you want one.’”

Lawrence “jokingly said, ‘Well, if you can find me one from Raptor’s bloodline, I’ll get one.’ So on Labor Day, he sends me a picture and goes, ‘Brother, I found you one,’ and it’s a picture of Nala. I got so att@ched.”

Since then, Lawrence and Nala have been att@ched at the hip. And when she’s not training with Baden K9 to help U.S. veterans with PTSD, this sweet little pooch is living her very best life.

What happened to ‘Lawrence Jones Cross Country’?

On Sept. 9, 2023, Lawrence’s show, Cross Country, ended its run. The popular program — which debuted on Jan. 29, 2022 — aired every Saturday at 9 p.m. EST live from Fox News’ world headquarters in New York City.

So, what happened? Well, on Sept. 14, Fox News announced that Lawrence had been named a permanent co-host of the weekday edition of Fox & Friends. As a result, Cross Country was canceled, and One Nation with Brian Kilmeade took over the 9 p.m. Saturday slot.

Fox revealed that Lawrence’s promotion makes him the “youngest Black co-host in cable news.”

The network added, “Lawrence has his finger on the pulse of what matters to communities across America, and his insight has proved invaluable to the FOX & Friends audience. We look forward to welcoming him to our family as he wakes up America alongside our star co-hosts each morning.”

In his own statement, Lawrence said, “I am honored to become a part of the cable news legacy Fox News has created with Fox & Friends, the very show where I made my first ever national television appearance. It is truly a privilege to inform our audience every day, and I can’t wait to do so each morning.”

In a live interview on Fox News, the mom of host Lawrence Jones shared why she decided to keep her baby boy when she was still a pr3gnant teen.

Why Did You Choose to Have Me?': Fox News Host Asks His Mom On-Air Why She Chose Life After Getting Pregnant as a Teen | CBN News

    AB Issue

Today, the issue of AB has been dividing people in the United States. With the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case going on, the national debate has undeniably heightened. And many people, famous or not, gave their insights and opinions about the issue. Among them is the mother of Fox News host Lawrence Jones.

Apparently, last week, the political commentator allowed his mom to guest on-air for the first time. The “Lawrence Jones Cross Country” host also noted that he didn’t want to share her with the world, but he had to guest her. Then he asked during the live interview, “Why did you choose to have me?”

    Pr3gnant Teen Chose Life

Lawrence’s mom, Tameria, was 16-years-old when she got pr3gnant. She grew up being taught “about s3x and what happened if you had s3x unpr0tected.” However, it happened to her. And right then, she knew it was her “responsibility.”

“It was my responsibility,” the mom explained. “It wasn’t my mom, my grandparents. I knew that I had to step up to the plate. And that caused me to let sports go, and I became a mommy.”

Tameria loved playing basketball as a young teenager. She was the star player during their time. That’s why she lost her friends when she stopped playing the sport to keep her baby. The pr3gnant teen did not hesitate to leave everything behind to become a mom despite the odds. Although she knew it would be a long and challenging journey, Tameria never regretted her decision. And on-air, she revealed her secret—dependence on God.

“The more I prayed, the more I talked to God, and the more that I was honest about my struggle, I had that village that came along,” Lawrence’s mom recounted.

In the end, the Fox News host thanked his mom for choosing to give birth to him.

“I’m so grateful that you made that decision,” he told her. Then she replied, “I love you, son.”

On Wednesday’s show, Dylan sat with Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones for the Third Hour of Today.

“We’ve got a really special story for you this morning,” Craig said.

“Dylan is taking a moment to open up about something that is impacting her family.”

Dylan said that she has been dealing with her oldest son, Calvin, having extreme symptoms every time he would eat.

They found out he tested positive for Celiac Disease, which is an autoimmune disease where someone cannot eat gluten, and had to change his entire diet, and their lifestyle.

The host said the six-year-old was dealing with “excruciating pain,” including sharp stomach pains, ear aches, and a weird rash.

So, Dylan took him to the doctors, and after Cal got his diagnosis via blood work, he had to go for an endoscopy.

That test found a stomach ulcer and damage to his intestines.

During the segment, Dylan added that Cal removed gluten from his diet and that he now feels “1000 percent better.”

The mother-of-three also said she scrubbed and sanitized their kitchen to get rid of “cross contamination.”

They also got rid of their kitchenware, so they weren’t cooking in the pots and pans that previously had food with gluten in it.

When the segment ended, Dylan had tears in her eyes while sitting on the couch with her co-hosts.

She tried to blink they away as she talked about it being a transition for the whole family.

“The goal, for me, has to been just make this as easy and smooth as possible for Calvin,” she said.

“So, at this point, he doesn’t even know what I’ve been through to make his life so easy.”

Dylan continued: “I’ve been making so many gluten-free recipes. It seems to be paying off. He likes what I’ve been making. He feel so much better.”

    CAL’S PAIN

Dylan opened up to TODAY.com to talk about what her son has been going through for the past year.

“There was one time the pain was so bad that we thought maybe he had something like his appendix burst,” she told the site about Cal’s stomach pain.

“He was hunched over in pain.”

So, his family rushed him to the emergency room and it turned out that his appendix was fine.

That was when Dylan took him to get further testing.

“He had an earache for a year. We took him to an ENT. Everything was fine with his ears. But he complained of an earache all the time,” she told TODAY.

Cal also had a rash on his scalp and his hair even began to fall out.

Dylan added that he even began to drop things, like his fork at the dinner table, and they later found out weakness in hands is also a symptom of Celiac’s.

SH0CKING TWIST – GMA IN TURMOIL – Star Hosts Negotiating Exit Right After Ratings Peak – WHAT’S REALLY GOING ON?

A version of this story first appeared in the Nov. 1 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.

'Good Morning America:' Top-Rated Show Faces 'Nightmare' Contract Talks

In September, Good Morning America marked an entire season as the No. 1 morning program — the first time in 19 years the ABC show had done so. But in a fluke of timing, a majority of its on-air personalities — Josh ElliottRobin Roberts and Lara Spencer — are negotiating new contracts, multiple sources tell THR. It is a scenario described by an executive at a competing news division as “a nightmare” for ABC News chief Ben Sherwood.

Not surprisingly, agents for the GMA crew quietly have been playing the field. Sources say representatives for Spencer, 44, and Elliott, 42, in particular have spoken to executives at NBC News. Both joined the show as anchors in 2011 as ABC News brass reconfigured GMA from its traditional dual-anchor format into an ensemble — a successful move that Today also adopted recently.

Spencer and Elliott, who co-hosted the summer spinoff Good Afternoon America in 2012, are said to be looking to grow their brands through larger roles at ABC — or elsewhere. Meanwhile, Roberts, 52, who returned full-time to GMA in September after a four-day-a-week schedule following a bone marrow transplant, has plenty of options within the Disney-ABC organization, including her own talk show. “There are a lot of things on the table for Robin,” says one source.

Certainly, GMA‘s strong performance during the past year and a half gives its crew no small amount of leverage. The morning show had its largest audience in more than 21 years for the 2012-13 season. (Nielsen’s electronic database began in September 1991.) It also bested Today by its widest margin (86,000) among viewers 25-to-54, the demographic upon which news programs are sold. The show’s ratings remained impressively steady with multiple fill-in anchors including Amy Robach and Elizabeth Vargas.

“They definitely have leverage,” says another source. “But there’s also leverage on the other side.”

That’s because while Spencer and Elliott are integral to the GMA team and its historic toppling of Today‘s 16-year morning-news ratings win streak, big TV news jobs are scarce.

Anchor George Stephanopoulos, 52, who is paid nearly $6 million a year, according to sources, is signed through 2014. Although Spencer and Elliott can’t hope to make that amount, the priority at ABC News is to keep the GMA team together. Says a network source: “Are there going to be big negotiations on the No. 1 morning show? Sure.”

Dylan Dreyer has paid a heartfelt tribute to someone incredibly close to her in an emotional new message on social media.

The Today Show star took to Instagram at the start of the week to share footage of herself at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions golf competition, where she was seen hitting a ball on the golf course.

The caption explained that this particular shot had a lot of personal meaning for both Dylan and her husband, Brian Fichera, because it landed close to ‘hole 18’ which was named in honor of a late friend, Tim Wakefield, who recently passed away.

Dylan wrote in the caption: “A few months ago, we lost our dear friend #timwakefield. They honored him with his number on hole 18 at #hgvlpga. @fishlense and I had tears in our eyes when my ball landed within 10 feet from this tribute. We miss you every day Wake!!”

Dylan and her husband Brian are both keen golfers and have been taking part in the latest tournament over the past few days.

The couple are big fans of the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions golf competition, and last year opened up to HELLO! about taking part ahead of the tournament.

The event brings together LPGA Tour winners to play alongside 50 of the biggest stars in sport, entertainment and music. Like last year, Brian was there to be Dylan’s caddy, and the star spoke to HELLO! about working with her husband ahead of the event.

She said: “It’s really fun for him to be my caddy. He is truly my biggest fan. If I make a good shot, he’s the first to jump up and down for me. “He knows me so if I’m having a good round, he knows how to keep it going. He also knows how to snap me out of a bad round. He’s the perfect caddy because he’s in my head and he gets my mind right.

“Brian knows how to make me feel better. We get to be together every second and we don’t get that enough. I’m truly looking forward to it and I think it’ll be great fun for others to watch too.”

Dylan and Brian often share snippets of their life on social media, and have gained a large fanbase as a result. The down-to-earth couple are raising three young children in a two-bedroom apartment in New York City.

They are parents to six-year-old Calvin, three-year-old Oliver, and one-year-old Rusty. And while Dylan often gets asked if she would ever add to her brood, the TV star admitted that she thinks she’s “maxed out” while talking to HELLO! in 2022.

“I think I’ve maxed out now,” she said, before admitting: “I wish I had started having kids sooner, because I really love everything about kids. “I never thought I would love it as much as I do. Being a mom is the best. I love fostering their ideas, I also somehow found more patience after becoming a mom.”

Although she and Brian weren’t always convinced that a family with children was in their future. “We didn’t think we wanted kids at all,” she said.

“We were living in New York City, traveling whenever we wanted to, doing whatever we wanted, and then suddenly it sort of came to us both. We were like ‘let’s have kids’. Both of us obviously love it.”

The number three also holds a special place in Dylan and Brian’s hearts as she explained: “When we decided to have children, I used to always want three. I grew up with two brothers, my husband is one of three. Three just feels right for us now.”

Dylan’s children have a magical childhood, spending the weeks in New York City, and a lot of the weekends and holidays by the beach.

The family have a beautiful beachside property just outside of the city, which boasts sea views and is seconds from the beach, meaning her sons have a lot of space to play and run around.

Lara Spencer is known for her love of animals, and the Good Morning America host regularly shares photos of her adorable pet dogs, Riva, Coco, and Dandy.  The ABC personality, 54, adopted Riva from the North Shore Animal League on Long Island, and is thus a proud proponent of Adopt Don’t Shop. Naturally, then, she issued an emotional plea to her followers this week for that cause.

Posing alongside Riva and a corgi that had been recently adopted, Lara urged her followers to adopt a dog or a cat from the shelter, which focuses on animals which are under risk at being moved to a “kill shelter” which may euthanize an animal if the shelter becomes too full.

In her caption, the mom-of-two said: “Two of North Shore Animal Leagues’s ‘alum’–my Riva, and this gorgeous girl corgi who was just adopted today by a lucky family (not by me!! I missed out!).

“Won’t you please adopt or consider donating to help NSALA in their efforts to save cats and dogs that might otherwise end up in kill shelters. There are so many beautiful pets that need homes and @animalleague is the largest no kill shelter in the world. I promise, they will rescue you right back.”

The charity was one of the first to respond to Lara’s post as they penned: “Lara, your heartfelt support means more than we can say!! As we always say, when you adopt one animal you save two lives, so your lifesaving efforts are adding up!! We can’t wait to watch Kate thrive with you. Thank you!!”

A second added: “Thank you for all you have done, and continue to do, to shine a light on the importance of rescue & adoption and on @animalleague,” while a third shared: “We got a wonderful dog from there. He was a great Cairn. Tragically lost to cancer.”

NSAL was in my heart since I was a little girl. I always wanted to rescue all of the dogs and cats and now here I sit, 7 rescues later, wanting even more.”

In the photo, which was taken in Port Washington, New York, Lara cuddled up with the corgi and Riva, while looking uber chic in a white shirt with lines running down the sleeves and a pair of pants.

The star has two children from her previous marriage to David Haffenreffer, Katharine Paige, 18, and Duff, 21, though in her heart, she really has five children. She is not shy about her love for pets, and maintains that she considers her three dogs her other children as well.

Last year, she opened up about how much dog rescue organizations mean to her, particularly the one that changed her family’s life, where she adopted her three dogs. In a social media post she wrote: “Great cause and cute pup alert!! As you might guess from my posts–my dogs are my other children. Truly.”

Michael Strahan may be the one taking a leave of absence from Good Morning America at the moment, but it was Robin Roberts on the latest installment of the morning news show who revealed she did not intend to come that morning.

On November 13th, while in conversation with co-anchors George Stephanopoulos, Linsey Davis, and Lara Spencer, the 62-year-old mentioned that she was feeling a little under the weather.

After a light cough, she said: “I was going to call in sick because of this,” but stated that there was one very compelling reason keeping her from making that call, and that was their special guest. Watch the moment for yourself below…

On Monday’s episode of GMA, Ariana DeBose stopped by to promote the upcoming Disney movie Wish, and Robin was quite the fan as she revealed: “But because of you, I came in.”

The mention of illness seemed to spark a hilarious fight-or-flight response in George, however, as he immediately got up out of his seat to jokingly exit the room.

“I’m not contagious, I’m not contagious!” she asserted as the rest of the studio around them broke into laughter, and Robin continued: “I could not be more sincere.”

Ariana responded that it was probably “just a tickle,” although Robin retorted: “I wish it was just a tickle,” in reference to her cough. The moment was shared on the GMA social media page and quickly garnered an enthusiastic response from fans.

“Robin’s the best!!” one gushed, while another quipped: “A second pandemic starting in 3,2,1…,” and a third wrote: “I love Robin.” One fan saw a different breakout star in the clip and commented: “George’s face was hilarious!”

On the other hand, her co-anchor Michael has been absent from the show for the past several weeks, much to the disappointment of viewers who were left without an explanation.

Last week, a statement was released to HELLO! by ABC News, which clarified that he had been taking time off the show due to “personal family matters.”

“Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters,” a representative for the network shared in a statement. “We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”

Michael himself has remained away from social media for the time being, last sharing an Instagram post on October 25, which was a promotional clip from his other ABC show, The $100,000 Pyramid.

The 51-year-old TV personality has similarly been absent from Fox’s NFL on Sunday over the past two weekends, with Fox Sports commentator Curt Menefee telling viewers last Sunday that Michael was “dealing with a personal family matter.”

Michael Strahan returned to GMA on Wednesday following a lengthy absence as he dealt with a “personal family matter”.

The popular host has been missing from the show for almost two weeks and he was welcomed back with open arms and some emotional words by his co-stars, Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos.

Good Morning America opened with all three anchors and after reading some headlines, Robin couldn’t help but address Michael’s absence and confessed there have been tears.

“We have tears of joy,” she said as she looked fondly at her friend and colleague. “Because Michael is back.”

George was nodding his head as Michael then added: “It is great to be back with both of you. It is great to be back. Thank you guys.”

Michael also took a break from his gig on NFL Fox Sunday while dealing with his personal matter, although he did make a brief appearance for a segment over the weekend ahead of his big return to GMA.

Linsey Davis and Rebecca Jarvis have been taking turns to stand in for Michael while he’s been absent.

Last week, a spokesperson for ABC told HELLO!: “Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters. We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”

It is not known who is at the center of the situation regarding his personal life, but his four children will be there to support him. The former NFL athlete is a dad to Isabella and Sophia, 19, and grown children, Michael Jr. and Tanita too.

Michael’s two youngest children are normally very vocal on Instagram, however they’ve been laying low in recent weeks suggesting they’re focused on family over anything else.

They are attending colleges across the country from one another with Sophia at Duke in North Carolina and Isabella studying at USC.

Although he’s an empty-nester, Michael has his long-time girlfriend, Kayla Quick, to keep him company. He’s been quietly dating the model for eight years, but she’s a huge part of all of their lives.

Earlier this year she supported Michael when he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she attended the twins’ high school graduations too.

She also featured in a campaign with Isabella for Michael’s coconut water, 100 Coconuts and the ad can be seen in the video above.

Kayla is a model and also founded and currently runs Fizzness, a beauty-based wellness brand which sells powdered drinks meant to deliver “a daily dose of energy and beauty with antioxidants and adaptogens,” according to her website.

Michael Strahan is getting ready for Thanksgiving following a difficult few weeks, which saw him take time off Good Morning America.

During Thursday’s show, the star was looking ahead to the holiday weekend, as he opened up about his plans, which have been heavily impacted due to the terrible travel conditions around New York City.

The traffic was a large focus during the weather segment, and Michael explained that as a result, he was making his Thanksgiving as stress-free as possible.

“And that’s why I’m staying at home this Thanksgiving,” he responded.

The former NFL champion received a warm welcome back to GMA on Wednesday November 15, so much so that Robin Roberts was in tears.

“We have tears of joy,” she said as she turned to her friend. “Because Michael is back.” George Stephanopoulos was nodding his head as Michael then added: “It is great to be back with both of you. It is great to be back. Thank you guys.”

While Michael didn’t disclose any detail surrounding his time off, he appeared to be in good spirits.

Michael Strahan is a doting family man

Last week, a spokesperson for ABC told HELLO!: “Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters. We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”

Michael will be spending Thanksgiving at home in his apartment in the Upper West Side, where he has lived for many years.

The beautiful property often features on his social media accounts and until recently, is where his 18-year-old twins lived with him.

At the end of August, Michael became an empty nester after twins Isabella and Sophia flew the nest to attend college. Michael isn’t completely alone though, as he has been kept company by his two beloved dogs, Enzo and Zuma.

Zuma was a recent addition to the family, with the star introducing their new four-legged friend on social media earlier this year.

While the star loves meeting fans, when it comes to his downtime, he enjoys nothing more than going unnoticed in his neighbourhood.

Talking about the relaxed area of NYC during an interview with the New York Times, he said: “I like the Upper West Side, because, being a father, I like the family feel to it. you see mothers with strollers, people walking their dogs. One thing I love about the neighbourhood, when you go into places, it’s not like, ‘Michael!’ I’m another person who’s just there.”

As well as twins Isabella and Sophia, who Michael shares with ex Jean Strahan, the star is also dad to Michael Jr, and Tanita, who he shares with ex-wife Wanda Hutchins.
