David Muir makes History with ONE-OF-A-KIND ABC News BROADCAST that leaves viewers thrilled!

David Muir was certainly in on the whole solar eclipse hype on Monday, April 8 as the entire country headed outside to catch the rare phenomenon.

The 50-year-old TV anchor covered the eclipse live for ABC, alongside other ABC News and Good Morning America anchors like Robin Roberts, Ginger Zee, Whit Johnson, Matt Rivers, and Gio Benitez from different parts of the country.

While David and colleague Linsey Davis watched in Burlington, Vermont, Robin and Whit watched from Cleveland, Ohio, Gio from Indianapolis, and Matt from Mazatlán, Mexico.

David was left awestruck by the phenomenon, and took to social media soon after to reflect on the special report with his friends across the network. He also had a fun segment on the air where he got to interview his colleague Whit’s mother, who was a major eclipse enthusiast.

“Moonstruck. grateful to witness the breathtaking eclipse with @linseydavis and our wildly talented @abcnews teams,” he penned alongside his photos, leading to a lot of special reactions from his colleagues.

Gio commented in response: “So glad we could experience this all together — no matter where our teams were, we were all under the same sun, moon, and glorious eclipse,” with Lara Spencer writing: “Wow. Your Coverage was spectacular. Wish I had been right there w you. Then detoured to Lake Skaneateles.” Many of the World News Tonight anchor’s fans praised him for his stellar coverage.

The clip captured during the live broadcast showed David completely awed, declaring it “stunning” while crowds behind them cheered and whistled once totality was achieved.

“It is really, truly breathtaking here in Burlington, Vermont,” he said, recalling the sweet experience of seeing families from all around the country traveling to Vermont together to see the eclipse, which won’t happen again across the continental United States for another 20 years.

 

Robin, in Cleveland with Whit, had a particularly emotional response, getting visibly choked up when her co-anchor asked about what the moment meant to her. “It’s hard to express the emotions that you feel when you see something like this, knowing that your mom saw it first down in Mexico…the whole totality, people are going to see it and know that we’re all together like this.”

“[It’s] something I’ll never, ever forget and it was special because of you,” she told the GMA Weekends host. “You got me to stay. I was heading to the airport, and you were like, ‘How could [you] miss this?’ And I’m so glad I stayed!”

Whit was quite touched and struggled to keep the emotion out of his voice, responding: “You know, what I feel too, when I saw it last time and now seeing it here, we spend our whole lives planning everything.”

“But in this moment, you realize that there are greater moments at play here. And for me that’s a liberating experience.”

Amy agreed, remarking on their own highly publicized exit from GMA3: “It’s a tough situation. We have walked down that road and it’s not an easy one.”

“I think he might still be going through a divorce”, she said of Rob. “So we know what it’s like to have your entire life upended, career and personal life”, adding: “We both have known Rob for a long time.”

T.J. added that the meteorologist was “one of the best guys I’ve ever seen in the field covering weather”, and while he didn’t “know all the details” behind the departure, “we hate to see somebody who’s been a friend and colleague for a long time end up in this place, this position to be talked about the way he’s being talked about to some degree”.

The couple’s general sentiments were summarized by Amy, who said: “I do applaud all the work he has bravely done over the last decade or so, and we wish him the very best”.

Rob’s departure comes as two years ago he was only allowed to report on the weather from outside locations, as opposed to the GMA studios in New York. This was reportedly due to 1nappr0priate behavi0r, and he hadn’t been back since. This coincided with the breakdown of his marriage to Eryn Marciano.

Eryn filed for divorce from Rob in June 2021 after 11 years together – the two share two children together: Madelynn, 12, and Mason, six.

Amy and T.J. are no strangers to ABC News controversy, as the couple were fired from GMA3 after their relationship was made public in 2022, while they maintain they had both separated from their partners at the time.

Good Morning America‘s Michael Strahan’s daughter Isabella has offered a rare and upbeat glimpse into her life as she continues to battle cnc3r. 

The 20-year-old shared an Instagram Story on Memorial Day that showed her with a huge smile on her face as she ran down a green yard towards the camera.

Wearing a grey hoodie and sweatpants, the student looked overjoyed and captioned the Story by simply writing: “Happy MDW.”

Isabella has believed to have been receiving chem0therapy treatment for cnc3r in North Carlina, where her sister Sophia studies, and where her mom Jean Muggli lives.

However, earlier in May it appeared she had returned to NYC, as she spent Mother’s Day with her father Michael, sister Sophia and Michael’s mother Louise.

“Happy that we had the chance to spend Mother’s Day with my mom! Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and all the other moms out there!” Michael captioned his post on social media, and Isabella’s appearance didn’t go unnoticed by fans, with many taking to the comments section to wish her well.

“So beautiful, I’m glad to see your beautiful daughter smiling,” one wrote, while another remarked: “So happy Izzy is home and you all were with your Mom, Michael.” A third added: “I’m so glad to see that your daughter is home from the hospital. what a special Mother’s Day for your mother.”

Isabella began college at UCLA in August 2023 and in early October she realized she was getting regular headaches and “nausea” that soon led to the then-teen being unable to “walk straight.”

After her father promptly encouraged her to go to the doctor and have a round of tests done, they discovered a fast-growing 4-centimeter tum0r – larger than a gold ball – in the back of her head.

She has since had two surg3ries to remove it.

She was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, which the National Cnc3r Institute defines as “primary central nervous system (CNS) tum0r,” which “begins in the brain or spinal cord” It’s the second most common malignant brain tum0r in children.

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are getting candid about the future of their careers.

The former anchors opened up about the possibility of returning to the news desk while chatting exclusively with Parade at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which were held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday, March 17.

 

“We have had the luxury now of not having to just take whatever,” Holmes, 47, told Parade. “We have the freedom to take and do exactly what we want that’s in line with what we feel and in line with the direction our lives are going. I mean, [it’s] sad to say we have had zero interest in getting back into network news, in a traditional sense. We love where we are right now [and] where we’re going. But yeah, you’ll see us on TV, no problem.”

Of the ever-changing media landscape — including switch-ups at CNN, NBC, ABC and other network news programs — Robach, 52, told Parade that news is a hard industry to be in right now.

“It’s tough,” she said. “It’s hard to watch. It’s sad to watch the industry, and the career you chose because you loved it, kind of slowly falling apart in a way because of changing viewing habits and how people are getting news. It’s sad. It’s hard to watch, actually, and also to not be in it, to not be fighting for it from a television standpoint. We would love to be in the arena.”

All that said, the couple told Parade that if the right opportunity presented itself, they would jump at it.

Still, Holmes added, “We’re not chasing those opportunities right now.”

Holmes solidified his place as a broadcast journalist and news anchor when he anchored CNN’s Saturday & Sunday Morning from 2006 to 2011. He later served as a correspondent and anchor for ABC news from 2014 to 2022 before his r0mance with GMA3 host and ABC anchor Robach became public, resulting in their firing from the network. Both were married at the time and have since divorced their respective partners.

The duo currently host the “Amy & T.J.” podcast, on which they explore “meaningful conversations about current events, pop culture and everything in between” weekly.

ABC News officially SAYS GOODBYE to a Legend – GMA studio in Tears!

Dr. Jennifer Ashton’s last week with Good Morning America is on the horizon, as she officially signs off as one of the co-anchors of GMA3 after 13 years with the network.

The 55-year-old TV medical correspondent announced in April that she would be leaving the show to focus on growing her personal ventures, with her last day being June 27.

Over the past year and a half, Dr. Ashton has hosted GMA3 with DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim, after they were named Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ permanent replacements last May, and they’re already marking her departure.

She shared a photograph of herself and Eva in an emotional embrace on set as they bid each other farewell, due to Eva being out of the office for Dr. Ashton’s last day in her position.

She wrote: “Today was the last time @evapilgrim and I were in the studio together before my ‘official’ last day at ABC News next Thursday, June 27. (I’m doing the show tomorrow remote from Boston and then she’s away next week…)”

Dr. Ashton gushed about her co-host and friend, with whom she has worked closely for years, even before they became GMA3 co-anchors. “Eva and I have been work sisters for 7+ years now at ABC, and from day one, we connected.”

“I remember when she met her husband, when she got engaged, when she got married, then pregnant, then had her daughter… and I know she remembers all my big life milestones over the past 7 years too.”

The mom-of-two also spoke fondly about when they first started hosting GMA’s 1 PM show together, adding: “I also remember the first day she sat in the middle chair on @gma3, and that’s when I knew that I would be lucky enough to work with her every day.”

Eva was extremely touched by the gesture and responded in kind, commenting on her former co-worker’s photo with a sweet message as well. “I can’t,” she started with a slew of teary-eyed emojis.

SAD NEWS: GMA Host Michael Strahan is Considering Retirement for Heartbreaking Reason!

Michael Strahan has had a decorated career in both sports and broadcasting — but it won’t be forever.

At the age of 52, Michael has professional football player, TV host, and journalist on his resume, not to mention he’s raised four kids.

He’s hosted Live with Kelly and Michael, has his own game show, Pyramid, serves as an analyst for FOX NFL Sunday and is a beloved member of the GMA team.

But in a surprising twist, Michael is thinking about his retirement. 

During an appearance on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Michael opened up about quitting the NFL, raising his children and what happens when he calls time on his career in the spotlight.

“I like company, I like vacations,” he said when asked about his life away from the small screen. I’m at the point in life when I just want to enjoy it. I don’t want to work forever, I want to enjoy life at some point.”

Will Reeve celebrated his 33rd birthday on June 7 – and it’s one he surely won’t forget.

The GMA star has yet to reveal his birthday plans, but on Friday, his fiancée, Amanda Dubin, reshared a sweet photo of the couple kissing while she presented him with a delicious-looking cake covered in candles.

The moment was even more poignant as this birthday marks Will’s first as an engaged man.

The TV host, whose dad is the late Christopher Reeve, popped the question to Amanda in November.

It’s not just a new day and new week for Good Morning America, it’s a new era!

On Monday, June 16, anchors Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos and the rest of their colleagues and crew officially moved down to their new studios in downtown Manhattan, 25 years after they first moved into their previous Times Square studios.

Their new studios, which also house fellow ABC mainstays The View, LIVE with Kelly & Mark, 20/20, World News Tonight, and the Tamron Hall Show, are in Disney’s new headquarters, 7 Hudson Square. Take a look at them in the video below.

GMA kicked off their Monday broadcast with Robin declaring: “It’s a big day, welcome to our new home,” as George later added: “New day, new week, new home,” and Michael then quipped: “It’s a beautiful location in the city.”

The View was among the first of ABC’s shows to move into their new 22-story building, the Robert A. Iger building, which opened last year after construction began around 2019.
