Strictly Come Dancing’s Wynne Evans hits out at BBC as he makes huge career announcement

Wynne Evans made a huge dig at the BBC as he started a new venture away from his former employers.

Opera singer Wynne, 53, was axed from his BBC Wales breakfast radio show last month following claims of 1n@ppr0priate c0mments. Now, he has launched his own radio show, as he could not help but make a sly dig at his former employers after he raked in an impressive 40,000 listeners.

Fans of the GoCompare man can now tune in to hear him presenting live from 9 am to 12 pm, Monday to Friday, on his website wynneevansshow.com. The debut show on Monday attracted 40,065 listeners, as he joked that a flood of WhatsApp messages from fans briefly crashed his system. Referring to the BBC, Wynne hit out as he joked: “Must be lovely and peaceful over there now. Plenty of time to finally finish that game of Solitaire.” Listener and fellow Welsh entertainer Alex John agreed as he added: “The BBC made a massive mistake and I think they will start to realise it. We had laughs and tears this morning and it was an incredible show. Can’t wait to tune in again tomorrow.”

Noticing a change in the host, the fan continued: “Wynne’s more himself, the music has massively improved and it is more of a laugh than ever.”

Wynne’s exit from BBC radio came after he left the Strictly live tour due to an “unacceptable” quip about It Takes Two presenter Janette Manrara. The TV personality soon issued an apology, expressing he was “deeply sorry for the pain my 1n@ppr0priate acti-0ns caused”.

The vocalist, who danced with Katya Jones on Strictly last year, has since candidly discussed how the scandal affected him and took him “to the d@rk3st sp0t of his l1fe”.

Appearing on This Morning last week, where he spoke to presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, he said: “I was at my lowest ebb, I wanted to 3nd my l1f3. I would have if I hadn’t been surrounded by people.”

Wynne disclosed that he had been under the watchful eye of a crisis team and that his loved ones had arranged a rota to be with him round the clock.

The BBC and BBC Studios previously issued a statement regarding the show’s duty of care, emphasising that it was taken “extremely seriously”. “We want Strictly to be a positive experience for everyone involved,” the statement read.

“I planned my Own Fun3ral” – Jacquie Beltrao opens up about stage 4 canc3r that Br0ke viewers’ Hearts!

Sky News sports presenter Jacquie Beltrao has opened up about surviving breast cnc3r – despite planning her funeral just a few years ago.

The radiant mother-of-three, who represented Great Britain in rhythmic gymnastics at the 1984 Olympics, told OK magazine that she feels ‘very lucky’ to celebrate her 60th tomorrow, but ‘never’ thought she’d live to mark the milestone birthday.

The Dublin-born Sky Sports presenter was diagnosed with breast cnc3r on Christmas Eve in 2013; she received the all clear before receiving the devastating news seven years later that it had returned once more.

This time doctors told her the cnc3r had reached stage four, and that it had spread to her spine and legs, leaving her fearing she had just months to live.

It was at that moment that Jacquie began preparations for her own funeral, she says – until she was prescribed olaparib, which was previously used for ovarian cnc3r, which she credits with saving her life.

She told OK Magazine: ‘I feel truly blessed and I was ready to have a big party to celebrate life. I have always been a very positive person, trying to find the right mindset to approach life, but almost exactly five years ago when I was told my cnc3r had spread, it was very hard not to start planning a funeral’.

Jacquie lives with her husband Eduardo Beltrao and their three children, Amelia, Tiago, and Jorge in South West London, but at one point in her life she says she recalled having ‘some very dark th0ughts’.

She said after her second diagnosis, she began researching stage 4 breast cnc3r and was shocked to discover that some people had just two years to live.

She also revealed how turning 60 compounded her ‘dread’ as she feared ageing and how society would view her new age.

‘My 60th birthday is a big celebration. In some ways turning 60 can fill you with dread, sometimes you feel people can look at you differently, but there were days I never thought I would make it to this point given the severity of my cnc3r. But here I am’.

In addition to marking her seventh decade, Jacquie is also celebrating five years of being cnc3r free, a feat she ascribes to a ‘hero’ science professor and a wonder drug called olaparib.

In June 2023, while speaking to fellow Sky presenter Anna Jones, she recalled how the drug saved her life.

‘It does work for a lot of people, but it works in varying degrees’ she said.

‘I’m one of the people where it’s worked 100 per cent. It won’t work forever. You have to have that in the back of my mind.

‘It’s not a permanent fix. It’s so new they don’t even know how long it will work for, but anyway I’ll take it’.

And referring to scientist Andrew Tutt, she added: ‘Who would do the sport this morning if it wasn’t for him?’

She told Anna that she hugged Professor Andrew and told him ‘you are a hero’, which left Anna visibly moved.

Olaparib, also known as Lynparza, is a targeted drug used for a number of cnc3rs for people who have a change in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene.

The drug is a PARP inhibitor, with PARP being a protein that helps damaged cells to repair themselves. Olaparib stops PARP from working.

Some cnc3r cells use PARP to keep their DNA healthy, so when olaparib stops PARP from repairing DNA damage, the cnc3r cells di3.

Jacquie revealed in June 2020 that she was facing a second battle with breast cnc3r after doctors first told her she had the disease in 2013, when she was 48.

Jacquie said she found a new ‘tiny’ lump during lockdown 2020 and began chemotherapy soon after.

Jacquie admitted in July 2021 that it had been a ‘living nightmare’ since her grade three diagnosis at the time.

After she was first diagnosed with breast cnc3r in 2013 for which she went through five cycles of chemotherapy in four months.

She said in a social media video at the time: ‘So, during lockdown I took my own advice, did a check, found a tiny, tiny, little lump just here.

‘Had it checked out and a biopsy straight away and it turns out it’s grade three breast cnc3r, much nastier than the first one I had.

‘I’m sharing this because it felt weird to be going back to work on Sky and being on social media and acting like everything was shiny, perfect and fun when it wasn’t.’

In 2020, Jacquie told Hello! magazine she ‘didn’t realise’ breast cnc3r could return. ‘Facing it again felt like a kick in the stomach,’ she added.

‘When I was told it was incurable, I burst into tears and thought, “That’s it, I’m going to di3”.

‘I felt so sad that I’d never go to my daughter’s wedding, see my sons graduate, or become a grandma.’

In July 2021 Jacquie said she felt ‘unbelievable’ after being told there was ‘no evidence’ of her cnc3r following a scan.

In June 2023, while speaking to fellow Sky News presenter Anna Jones, Jacquie recalled how miracle drug, olaparib, saved her life

She celebrated receiving a clear scan amid her stage 4 breast cnc3r battle, and rejoiced: ‘I’m living proof anything is possible.’

‘I had feared the worst and had times when I’d hear a piece of music and think, “That’ll be good for my funeral.”

‘There were dark days, so to be told there is no evidence of cnc3r now is unbelievable.

‘I was expecting bad news or, at best, that my aggressive cnc3r hadn’t got worse. But to be told there is no evidence of it now is beyond my wildest dreams.’

She added that she had thought she had only had two years left to live but now she can ‘enjoy life again’, before adding that she is ‘living proof that anything is possible’.

Breast cnc3r comes from a cnc3rous cell which develops in the lining of a duct or lobule in one of the breasts.

When the breast cnc3r has spread into surrounding tissue it is called ‘invasive’. Some people are diagnosed with ‘carcinoma in situ’, where no cnc3r cells have grown beyond the duct or lobule.

Most cases develop in those over the age of 50 but younger women are sometimes affected. Breast cnc3r can develop in men, though this is rare.

Staging indicates how big the cnc3r is and whether it has spread. Stage 1 is the earliest stage and stage 4 means the cnc3r has spread to another part of the body.

The cnc3rous cells are graded from low, which means a slow growth, to high, which is fast-growing. High-grade cnc3rs are more likely to come back after they have first been treated.

Anna Jones Breaks Down live on air after Canc3r Update leaves viewers sh0cked and emotional!

Sky News presenter Anna Jones was brought to tears while hosting the Weekend Breakfast programme on Saturday after reporting on a “moving” story about her colleague, Jacquie Beltrao.

Jacquie, who is a sports presenter on the programme, was diagnosed with stage f0ur breast cnc3r in 2020 and a year later, was told by doctors that the disease had spread to her legs and spine.

However, thanks to a miracle drug called olaparib, the 58-year-old is now cnc3r-free.

In an article published in The Sun on Sunday, Jacquie was pictured hugging the scientists who pioneered the use of the drug that saved her life.

While reporting on the story, Anna became emotional. Watch the moment in the video below, which has now been viewed over 200,000 times on Twitter.

Referring to a photo of Jacquie embracing Professor Andrew Tutt, who is director of the Breast Cnc3r Now Toby Robins Research Centre at the Institute, Anna turned to her colleague and said: “You’re amazing Jacquie, you’re truly amazing. It’s a very moving article. Anyway, it’s great.”

Holding back tears, the presenter then took a deep breath before turning back to the camera. “She’s amazing,” Anna repeated while trying to regain her composure.

Jacquie could be heard comforting her colleague in the background, saying: “Aww, Anna.”

Jacquie was first diagnosed with breast cnc3r in 2013 and subsequently underwent a mastect0my and reconstruction.

Then in 2020, she found a small bump below her collarbone and was told the cnc3r had returned in a more aggressive form.

Speaking about her stage f0ur diagnosis, she told The Sun: “It hit me like a ton of bricks. I’d always been positive in my outlook, looking for good news, good outcomes, and then it became very hard to see them.

“I didn’t know where to turn. I would have some very d@rk th0ughts. I remember looking up how long people live for with stage-four cnc3r and it said a max of two years.”

The following year, Jacquie was told the cnc3r had spread to her legs and spine, and it was then that she began treatment with olaparib, a drug previously used for ovarian cnc3r.

“For some it has little effect, for others it works for a while then stops. But remarkably for me it worked,” said Jacquie, who was told at her next scan in June 2021 that there was no evidence of cnc3r.

In April this year, Jacquie gave her Instagram followers an update, sharing the results from her most recent scan.

Sharing a snap showing the journalist holding a sign that read: “Scan all clear. Yay!” she penned in the caption: “Got the best news last night another clear scan NED — no evidence of disease. Feeling incredibly lucky this morning. I won’t be scanned again for 6 months – that feels like a substantial gap. It’s amazing that’s what it is.”

She went on to share her gratitude to the medical staff who helped her, including the team who pioneered the use of olaparib, whom she has since met.

“A massive team has got me to this point and I know very few of them. My oncologist, my surgeon, the nurses @parksideprivatehospital of course I know them all but what about the amazing research team who came up with my drug Olaparib? I’ll never know them but I’m in their debt.

“Life is good today even on a work day! I feel like I have many angels. Looking out for me. And I’m super grateful.”

Sarah-Jane became an anchor on Sky’s Sunrise two years ago, replacing Eamonn, who’d been in the role for 11 years.

She has come a long way after starting her career at Sky as a runner for Sky Sports before heading to ITV’s Midlands office to co-host the breakfast show on Heart FM.

She returned to Sky in 2008 and has since fronted the likes of Saturday Night Football and Cricket AM.

Taking over from Eamonn has a nice circularity to it, as Sarah-Jane grew up in Essex watching Eamonn on the GMTV sofa alongside Anthea Turner and says that pairing sparked her desire to work in television.

Sarah-Jane Mee has said she is planning to have a home birth because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 41-year-old Sky News presenter said that she did not want to go to hospital in case Cvd-19 restrictions meant that she could not have her fiancé by her side.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, Sarah-Jane said that she wanted to make sure that Ben Richardson could remain with her and she was not planning on going into hospital alone.

She said: “I don’t want to be walking into hospital on my own to have this baby, so I am considering a home birth.

“I have an amazing midwife and I’ve been using this incredible hypnobirthing teacher caller Katharine Graves, and they have been getting my head together.

“I had never considered it before but, because of everything that’s going on, it makes me feel more relaxed to think about having the baby at home, rather than Ben not being able to come into the ward until the very final moment.

“I think my plan A now is a home birth.”

Sarah-Jane said that she has had an uncomplicated pregnancy and is in good health so there is “no reason” for her not to consider having a home birth.

She added that her “life literally changed in a couple of minutes” when Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced lockdown measures as her pregnancy put her in “the vulnerable category”.

However she said that going outside for a daily walk has helped her get her “head straight” and she is now “trying to find the positives”, which include the slower pace of life and spending more time with her fiancé.

Sarah-Jane added: “I have been concentrating on that and it has really helped.”

“We have spent quality time together, when else would we go for an hour’s walk together every day?

“It’s weird but we’re also finding the beauty in it: the Thames has never been so still, there are ducks and you can hear birdsong.

“It’s really calm and really nice.”

News presenter Sarah-Jane Mee has introduced her and fiancé Ben Richardson’s baby girl in an exclusive interview and photoshoot with HELLO! magazine. In the interview, Sarah-Jane reveals for the first time that her baby daughter is called Rae Brenda Richardson.

Explaining how her name was inspired by recent events, she said: “During lockdown, we kept hearing about rainbows and rays of hope and we came up with her name from that,” says the Sky News presenter.

Baby Rae was born in June

“The morning after she was born, Ben said to me: ‘I think she’s a Rae,’ and I remember looking at her, thinking: ‘You’re right. She’s Rae and she’s our little ray of sunshine.’”

Rae was born weighing 6lb 8oz at St Thomas’ Hospital in London on 24 June. And despite Sarah-Jane’s wish to have a home birth, she was instead delivered via caesarean section following a five-day labour after Sarah-Jane developed pre-eclampsia.

“I went in on a Saturday and went through every stage of labour, but we got to Tuesday night and I was only 2cm dilated,” she told the magazine. “It was really disappointing as my body wasn’t ready, but we had to get her out safely so they recommended I have a C-section. As soon as someone says: ‘This is pre-eclampsia, you don’t want to put your baby at risk,’ all thoughts about wanting a natural birth just turn to how to get your baby out safely.”

In the interview, Sarah-Jane also says one of the advantages of lockdown has been having Ben around the house to help.

“One of the positives of lockdown has been Ben being at home so he has been in this 50/50 with me,” Sarah-Jane says. “We’re a tag team: at night, I will feed her and then he’ll take her from me so I can go back to sleep. He takes it in his stride and has made me feel more confident too.”

“As driven as Ben is in his business life, he loves being a dad more than anything,” she adds. “It’s made me love him even more, if that’s possible.”

BREAKING NEWS: Emmerdale’s Claire King teases sh0cking on-screen COMEBACK!

ITV Emmerdale Kim star teases huge Tate return as fans rumble twist(Image: No credit)

Emmerdale’s Claire King has finally spoken out about the potential for a Tate family resurgence in the soap.

With the Tate numbers dwindling, only Thomas Tate – Gabby Thomas and Jamie Tate’s son – remains, aside from Kim, portrayed by show legend Claire.

Yet, the star has hinted at the exciting possibility of a Tate comeback. She revealed in a chat with the Mirror and other media: “It would be an interesting spin [to have a new Tate – or an old one return]. I don’t know who they would get out the woodwork, but no doubt there’s some out there. There seem to be many Dingles that keep showing up.”

Speculation among fans is rife that this could signal the return of a fan-favourite Tate. With Jamie still linked to the village through his son Thomas with Gabby, rumours are swirling about his possible comeback.

Earlier in the year, Alexander Lincoln, who played Jamie, commented on the chance of returning: “Honestly, I loved it there and I love everyone there. There’s always the possibility if they’ll have me of going back. But right now, I’ve got quite a lot of stuff on and I really want to explore lots of different avenues of work.

“There’s a few other projects coming up over the next couple of years which I’m quite excited about, but we’ll see. I do miss the farm, for sure! I miss my on-screen mum [Claire King, who plays Kim Tate] and everyone else! Coming back would mean going back with a bang for sure, if they would have me. I’m always very excited about the possibility of going back at some point.”

Before a fresh Sugden arrives in the village – with Oliver Farnworth taking on the role of enigmatic John Sugden. Emmerdale’s producer, Laura Shaw, spilled the beans on the new arrival, sharing: “We are thrilled to have an actor with Oliver’s talent and presence join the Emmerdale family. The Sugden’s have always been central to Emmerdale, and introducing a new member opens up exciting possibilities for future storylines.
