The Repair Shop: Richard Talman perfectly restores 107-year-old BITE MARK, unlocking family memories and moving guest to Tears!

During the most recent episode of The Repair Shop, master goldsmith Richard Talman had his work cut out for him.

BBC viewers saw a woman called Fliss enter the workshop in hopes of getting a family locket restored.

Explaining the history behind the jewellery piece, the guest detailed it once belonged to her grandmother, although it came from her great grandmother meaning it had been in her family at least 107 years.

Inside, there was a photograph of her grandfather from when he was in the Second World Wr. Fliss explained: “He signed up the day after wr broke out, so my grandma wore it whilst he was away at wr.

“A picture of my grandma that he used to keep, you can tell that he’s carried it through wr, it’s battered. But, it’s a beautiful picture of my grandma.” Fliss explained the locket was given to her own mother broken, meaning she’s never been able to wear it.

As it’s the only piece of jewellery she has from her grandma, Fliss highlighted its importance as both her grandparents have now d13d.

Showing the locket to the expert, Fliss detailed that the major problem was that it was in two pieces. However, she added: “There’s teeth marks from my eldest uncle chewing it when he was a baby! There’s little teeth marks.”

Richard questioned if she wanted the dents to be removed, to which Fliss confirmed, along with wanting there to be a photo of her grandma added onto the other side of the locket.

While inspecting the item to begin his fix, Richard touched on the teeth marks as he commented: “It could be quite a bit concerning. In order to remove those I’m going to have to push the metal back out from the inside while not wanting to damage andy of this beautiful embossed finish.”

When it came to trying to remove the dents, the BBC expert detailed that it may not be as straightforwrd as it looked.

He said: “A key point here is to not hit it too hard, don’t apply any unnecessary pressure.” As he began gently punching the dents back into position,

Richard added: “It really is just a little bit of trail and error. Just airing always on the side of caution, there’s always going to be that tipping point of going too far and maybe causing more damage.

“It’s just a matter of being really slow and being really careful and hoping you can achieve that result before it tips it over the edge.”

In the end, Richard was able to remove the dents and created a new hinge for the broken locket to be able to open and close once again.

When it was time for Fliss to be reunited with the locket once again, she was instantly overcome with emotion.

Thanking Richard and the team for what they were able to do, she confessed she’s never taking the locket off now it’s been restored.

Monty Python star Sir Michael Palin has opened up about his will, as he admitted in a heartbreaking interview, his children will “know where to find what they need to find should I d13”. The 82-year-old was married to Helen Gibbins for almost 60 years before she sadly d13d two years ago from chronic kidney disease. He’s now spoken about his own d3ath during an interview on the Marie Curie podcast.

Sir Michael admitted, “I do think about d3ath, and the family is rather wonderful about it: ‘Have you made a will? Can I be in your will? I’ve made my will and all that. My family, my children, know where to find what they need to find should I d13.”

The star has three children with Helen: Thomas, 56, William, 54, and Rachel, 50. He told listeners he had given them all of his passwords in case he “gets run over by a bus.”

“However fit you are, anything might happen,” he noted. “But I don’t dwell on mortality. I dwell on life.”

Sir Michaell, who met Helen when they were both teenagers on a summer trip to Suffolk, added: “I’m 82 now, which is longer than any Palin male has lived for 200 years. I keep fit, and I’m working, fortunately, and doing some quite difficult stuff, such as filming and all that.

“I kid myself that I’m going to be alright, and yet I know that I won’t because you feel tired at certain times. You’re slightly unsteady as you get out of bed, and you think, ‘What’s happening?’ Well, the old car’s getting a bit rusty.”

Sir Michael has been through some health issues in recent years, and he underwent open heart surgery in 2019 to repair a valve.

Opening up about the life-saving surgery, he shared: “That saved my life, really. And so I’ve been through that, which I think is quite important – to know that your body is vulnerable. And the older you get, the more vulnerable it is.”

He also shared how he struggled to imagine how he’d survive without his beloved Helen by his side.

Sir Michael added, “There was a time when I didn’t think it was going to get better. I thought, gosh, it’s just going to be poignant days. I’m going to break down into tears every now and then.

“It does get better, and it does adjust. And after two years, now I feel I could think of Helen. I’m surrounded by her anyway. I’ve got photos. I haven’t got rid of anything to do with her. The family embod13d what she was to them, and that’s all that made it much, much easier.”

CHOKED-UP MOMENT – GB NEWS host Ellie Costello BREAKS DOWN LIVE on-air over ONE Photo that SILENCED the audience!

A star of GB News admitted that she was close to tears as she shared a personal update live on air. Ellie Costello was back in her usual presenting seat, next to co-star Chris Hope, after a leave of absence for a very special reason.

Discussing the day’s headlines, Ellie pointed out that Chris had spotted a story about her in the newspapers as her wedding pictures had been published. Ellie replied: “Yeah, the wedding pictures have come out and I am so happy with them.” She was then feeling overcome with emotion as she added: “It’s going to make me cry!” Sharing more about her special day, the news presenter added: “So that was three weeks ago this weekend. So we got married in France.” Images then popped up on the screen showing her in a beautiful white gown as she shared a kiss with her new husband, Gerard Durkan.

Ellie then shared some details about the day, including that her cake was made by a close friend and that her co-star Stephen Dixon flew out to enjoy the celebrations with the newlyweds. She said: “Stephen flew all the way out. It was so nice to have him there.”

In the run-up to the big day, Ellie and Stephen were both absent from GB News. Standing in for them, Dawn Neesom explained: “Yeah, because Ellie is off getting married this weekend.

She is getting married tomorrow in the South of France and of course Stephen has gone with her, to hold her hand, in their matching outfits.” The presenter then quipped: “Stephen is possibly in a white dress, who knows?”

The stand-in presenter then explained that it was Ellie’s “official, big wedding” after her co-star got “legally married” back in April. Dawn shared: “It’s her big wedding tomorrow and she is going to make a beautiful bride!”

Ellie, 31, originally tied the knot with her fiancé Gerard Durkan in an intimate London ceremony back in April. Her co-stars weren’t at Chelsea Old Town Hall, with invites being reserved for close friends and family.

At the time, her colleague Eamonn Holmes commented: “Notice she wore a short dress, I’d have never thought of that. But then she’s going to do it all again in the summer and it’ll be a big affair and a big party in the sunshine. It’s excellent news.”

SH0CK – A Tragedy considered the Biggest in Emmerdale history is about to Unfold, leaving viewers stunned!

    Emmerdale

Emmerdale fans predict a death in the village (Image: ITV)

Emmerdale returned to ITV with the latest from the beloved village, and while Cain Dingle’s (played by Jeff Hordley) feud with his brother Sam (James Hooton) boiled over, fans spotted clues at a major exit. The siblings have been warring after a surprise attack on Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) farm caused a rift within the family. Meanwhile, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) seemed to have sussed out his long-lost brother John’s (James Thornton) evil ways.

Ahead of a home visit from Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), John had snuck into Robert’s home and used an inconspicuous listening device to gain insight into their therapy session. However, as Liam also works with John, Robert turned the tables and began questioning if the doctor finds his brother “trustworthy” or “honest”. With John tuned into their conversation, many concerned viewers predicted that he may seek to kill Robert, as one shared: “John thinking… ‘Time to die, Robert’ Emmerdale.”

    Emmerdale's Robert Sugden

Another echoed: “Can’t stand this, so pleased Robert was onto John and now he’s in danger, so frustratingggggg…”(sic)

A third anticipated: “Soon Liam will think Robert is paranoid and everyone will think he’s a nutter when he’s the only one who’s sussed psycho John out.”

Referencing John’s past killing of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), one fan stated: “Dirty planning another Dexter-type killing.”

“Unfortunately, they’re going down the road of Rob looks like the nutbar for the way he’s going after John & I’m not at all surprised they’ve done this,” said another viewer.

Despite Robert raising concerns about his brother, Dr Liam brushed it off and stated: “I think I’d rather concentrate on you,” to which the farmhand rebutted: “I think my brother’s a little too good to be true.”

    Emmerdale's Robert with Dr Liam

Robert shared his concerns about John (Image: ITV )

Robert added: “I think there’s something not quite right about him, like he’s hiding something and I’m going to find out what.”

As their conversation ended, John found a way to get back his brother after Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) paid Robert a visit, with John still unknowingly in the house and listening.

Ray asked Robert whether he had more weed to sell him, but Robert said it was a one-time thing, but was quickly reminded about the cannabis he had stolen from Lewis (Bradley Riches) and Ross Barton (Michael Parr), and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).

They had been growing it in the barn at Moira’s farm before selling it on to Ray.

Speaking to Ray, Robert pleaded: “Ross and Mac don’t know I stole their weed stash, you can’t say anything. If they find out I screwed them over, I’m finished.”

Upon hearing this, John smirked, knowing he had some dirt to use against his brother. However, fans will have to stay tuned to discover if this information could lead to a major death.

NO LONGER A PRIORITY – From Cutbacks to the Threat of Permanent Axing, Loose Women may be on its way out. BUT WAIT – this might be a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY for ITV’s Biggest Rival.

Loose Women has been pulled from our screens all week as part of another ITV schedule shake-up.

The programme usually airs on the popular channel straight after This Morning at 12:30pm and wraps up an hour later.

But this week ITV are covering the Goodwood Races between 1pm and 4pm.

This means that after This Morning finishes at 12:30pm, the ITV Lunch Time News is on until 12:50pm, followed by ITV News London until the races start.

The new schedule will remain in place until the start of next week.

At the end of Monday’s episode Loose Women host Ruth Langsford, 65, told viewers: ‘That’s it for today and actually for the rest of this week.

‘We’re not on this week because of the horse racing, but we will be back next Monday. Have a great afternoon!’

This isn’t the first time that the popular programme has been cancelled in recent weeks.

Back on June 17 Loose Women was cancelled due to the coverage of the Royal Ascot.

Then weeks before on June 6 the show didn’t air due to ITV airing the first Derby meeting from Epsom races.

In recent months Loose Women has hit headlines after it was revealed back in May that it has been axed for half the year and Lorraine’s runtime has been slashed by 30 minutes, as ITV Daytime bosses announced huge cuts today with job losses in excess of 220.

Recently Loose lady Janet Street-Porter revealed which stars are at risk from brutal cost-saving cuts by ITV – and which panelists are safe.

The 78-year-old has shed light on the reality behind the looming cuts proposed by the broadcaster, which are set to impact several daytime shows.

Journalist Janet Street-Porter (pictured) has revealed which stars are at risk from brutal cost-saving cuts by ITV – and which panelists are safe

Janet appears certain that the ‘older’ Loose Women stars are not likely to be cut, given they appeal more directly to the show’s target demographic.

But she warns that newcomers, younger stars or those with less experience could be at risk.

‘There are no plans to get rid of the older women despite what some people have said,’ Janet said.

The Brentford-born writer said the panel programme has gained the trust of female viewers as a place where important female-centred topics are discussed.

‘I think Loose Women has become a programme that is trusted by a lot of women because we talk about the issues that they are concerned about – whether it’s female health, domestic violence or how politicians don’t really understand working women,’ she said.

‘I think the show has managed to connect women who wouldn’t otherwise have a voice.

‘And it’s delivered with a lot of laughs because we don’t take ourselves too seriously.’

Loose Women producers are expected to cut celebrity guests from the show – and growing fears the ITV staple could even be cancelled within a year.

The long-running series usually welcomes a host of celebrities onto the panel to promote upcoming projects and have had the likes of Naomi Campbell, Elizabeth Hurley, Joan Collins, and even former Prime Minster Rishi Sunak appear.

But according to insiders, once ITV’s budget cuts come into effect in January, Loose Women will no longer have A-list guests in the studio, and the broadcast is planned to only consist of the panel debating newsworthy topics from the week.

OVER THE MOON – JOY floods Emmerdale: NOT a scene on screen – The FAIRYTALE WEDDING between Max Parker and Kris Mochrie makes fans BURST with Joy. BUT their POST-WEDDING plan left everyone stunned.

REAL life Emmerdale couple Max Parker and Kris Mochrie have confirmed their wedding date – and it’s just days away.

The actors – who played brothers Luke and Lee Posner in the ITV soap – will tie the knot at a glittering ceremony this summer.

And now the stars have taken to social media to reveal when.

While details of their ceremony remain scarce, the happy couple will walk down the aisle in just a week’s time.

Max posted: “One week until we get hitched!”

And alongside another picture of the couple, he wrote: “Seven days and we’re married.”

The pair met while filming on the ITV soap five years ago and although they never actually shared a scene together, Max and Kris hit it off backstage and got together in 2020.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Max and Kris had begun dating back in 2020. During their early courtship, the pair could be seen living life in style, including enjoying a lavish holiday to Dubai.

By the end of the year, they had moved into their first home together.

In 2022, they celebrated another major milestone in their relationship as they announced their engagement.

Max revealed he popped the question to Kris, describing the moment he said yes as “the happiest” of his life.

He wrote on Instagram today: “He deserves the world, but the best I could do was promise him my heart. HE SAID YES!

“Happiest moment of my life. @krismoc my fiancée.”

Kris later revealed how Max had part of his late grandmother’s treasured locket made into the engagement ring.

Writing on Instagram, he said: “The beautiful soul that is my best friend asked me to marry him yesterday. I can’t begin to describe how happy I am.

“I love him beyond words, we laugh every single day and I’m so, so grateful that he came in to my life.

Soaps are renowned for their sweet and scandalous romances – but it’s not just in scripted storylines where love is blossoming. A number of our favourite small-screen actors have fallen for co-stars and soapland rivals when the cameras have stopped rolling.

    Max Parker and Kris Mochrie

Despite playing brothers Luke and Lee Posner on Emmerdale, the pair never actually shared any scenes together. But the pair still fell in love after meeting on set. Max and Kris got together in 2020, moving in together later than same year and got engaged in 2022. In a sweet Instagram post, the couple confirmed they’re planning a 2025 wedding.

    Beth Cordingly and Ian Kelsey

Beth, who plays Ruby Fox-Miligan, announced her love for her co-star Ian Kelsey, who played Dean Glover, shortly after she joined Emmerdale at the beginning of 2024. “I am very in love with Ian and very happy. I think it really does work him being an actor too. He has been so fantastic,” she gushed.

    Laura Norton and Mark Jordan

Kerry Wyatt and Daz Eden actors Laura and Mark met on the set of Emmerdale in 2014. The couple, who got engaged in 2018, told Loose Women they spent a long time deciding whether they should “just stay as friends.” Although it seems they were meant to be and the pair now share two children together.

    Zoe Henry and Jeff Hordley

Emmerdale favourites Zoe and Jeff, who play Rhonda Goskirk and Cain Dingle met at drama college in 1994 and have been together ever since. While working together might be too much for some couples, that’s definitely not the case for Zoe and Jeff. Zoe previously told The Sun: “Working on the same show as Jeff also helps because if one of us is having a bad day then the other will completely understand.”

    Lesley Dunlop and Chris Chittell

Lesley and Chris are another Dales romantic success story. Unlike some of the other soap stars, the pair who play Brenda Walker and Eric Pollard, are together on and off screen, officially tying the knot in 2016. They also adore working together, but have clear home-work boundaries. “We make a point of not talking about Emmerdale when we’re at home, though – that would be just too sad, wouldn’t it?” Chris revealed.

    Sally Carman and Joe Duttine

Abi Franklin and Tim Metcalfe actors Sally and Joe got together after meeting on the set of Coronation Street in 2017 and they tied the knot in July 2022. But unlike some of the Emmerdale stars, Sally and Joe prefer that their characters don’t interact much. Sally previously admitted it “would be horrendous” to work on a storyline with Joe because “he’s too funny.”

    Anthony Cotton and Peter Eccleston

Sean Tully may have been unlucky in love on the cobbles, but in real life Antony’s met his Prince Charming. The soap star started dating long-term partner Peter in 2005, after they met when he was working as an assistant props buyer on Corrie.

    Jane Danson and Robert Beck

Corrie favourite Jane Danson tied the knot with soap star Robert Beck in 2005. The actress, who plays Leanne Battersby, shares two children, Harry and Sam, with the former Brookside star. During their marriage, Robert has also done a stint in Weatherfield playing criminal Jimmy Dockerson.

    Caroline Harding and Chris Gascoyne

Chris, who played pub landlord Peter Barlow, married soap star Caroline in 2002. Although she is best known as an Emmerdale star, Caroline did visit her husband at work when she did a two-episode stint as doctor on the Manchester soap in 2020. The couple share a daughter called Belle, plus two children, Pip and Freddie from Caroline’s previous marriage.

Nadine Mulkerrin and Rory Douglas Speed

Nadine Mulkerrin, and Rory Doulas Speed are known for their Hollyoaks alter egos Cleo McQueen and Joel Dexter. The loved-up pair got engaged on a December 2018 trip to Amsterdam – just over a year after they announced they were dating. They now share two kids, Reggie and Dougie.

    Sophie Austin and Shayne Ward

Former Hollyoaks star Sophie, whose best known for playing villain Lindsay Butterfield, was introduced to singer and ex-Corrie star Shayne through mutual friends. She gave birth to their daughter Willow in December 2016 and they welcomed a son in 2022.

“I had no idea at all! But it was just perfect… I mean, this film says it all.

“Max had asked my Mum, for any jewellery that my Gran had. Mum still had my Grans locket, and he has had it made in to the middle of the engagement ring on the inside. So so special.

“Thank you to the job that brought us together, our incredible family and friends. And the amazing love from you all. I’m a very lucky boy.”

They said in a joint statement: “We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.

“We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected.

“There will be no further comment.”

Speaking on The Mid-Point podcast in July 2023, Patrick explained that he thought he was in a 50/50 partnership for “a long time” before realising he was just a “junior shareholder”

Asked about how he and Cat made big decisions, he said: “For a long time I genuinely thought I was in a 50/50 partnership [laughs].

“Then you realise you’re actually a junior shareholder in a 50/50 partnership.

“You go, ‘I thought we were 50/50? Why do you seem to have more shares?’

“I think with big decisions you kind of have to float stuff and see how that’s going to go. You know, drop that into conversation.”

Asked about their decision to move back to the UK from LA, he said: “What was weird about it was it was Cat who more wanted to do that.

“It was more so her decision.

“I think being a new mum and not having the family around and not having the network of cousins and brothers, and so I think, for me, London is not home. It will never really be home for me.

“In my head, I still live in a little village in County Down, even though I haven’t lived there full time for 30 years. These are the tricks you play on yourself.

“Living in London, my family was always a flight away anyway, so that idea of being a longer flight away from LA wasn’t as much of a problem for me as someone who had to get a flight to go to see them anyway.

“I also think because Cat was the one with a successful career out there, she was the one who chose to leave that at the right time, and that’s a decision that she made and only she can make.”

Asked if it was the happiest he and Cat had ever been, he said: “Yeah, look, you know 10 years into marriage, it is something you work at.

“It’s that idea that what attracts you is not going to keep you together.

“It’s that idea of how you work together whenever the rough and the smooth and all those things … it’s a journey.

“You put those kids into the mix and suddenly those priorities change, and all of those things.

“I think anybody who feels they can put their feet up and go, ‘Yeah, that’s marriage cracked,’ you’re kind of going, ‘Really?!’ ”

Once considered one of the entertainment world’s most enduring couples, Cat and Patrick first met while filming Fame Academy in the early 2000s.

Although their friendship developed over the years, they only began dating later, eventually tying the knot in a private ceremony in Rome.

Cat, who spent more than a decade hosting So You Think You Can Dance in the U.S., continued to juggle work across both sides of the Atlantic.

Speculation about their relationship emerged earlier this year when Cat was absent from Patrick’s mother Mary’s funeral in February.

The This Morning presenter was notably missing from the occasion in Dundrum, Ireland, where Patrick – host of RTE’s Late Late Show – was pictured carrying his mother’s coffin.

A spokesman for Cat told the Mail at the time: “Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day.”

Cat and Patrick have two sons – Milo, eight, and James, five.

The presenter, 69, had ordered a bowl of soup for the occasion and a large glass of rosé to accompany his side.

He was casually clad for the al fresco lunch in a plain white T-shirt and continued to support a wrist strap after suffering a painful injury last month.

Richard opened up about his ailment during an appearance on GMB as he revealed he fell over on holiday.

As Susanna Reid pointed out his wrist guard and remarked it looked ‘sore’, Richard explained: ‘It is a double fracture of the wrist. I was walking quite quickly down a steep pavement, in France actually.’

Richard continued: ‘It was loose and it flipped up. It flipped me forward and I thought… “Am I going to win or is gravity going to win?”

‘Gravity won. I hit the ground hard. I’ve got a double fracture. We’ll see how it goes.’

Susanna asked: ‘Is it sore at the moment?’

To which Richard replied: ‘I’m not discussing the pain threshold. We don’t think about pain.’

This wasn’t the end of Richard’s health woes as he then suffered through another show days later with a sore threat.

Opening the show, Susanna quipped: ‘I’m a bit concerned we might lose you through the programme…’

A croaky-voiced Richard pointed at his throat and asked: ‘This thing? I think it’ll get stronger throughout the programme. That’s my prediction.’

In May, it was claimed Richard reportedly faced the axe from Good Morning Britain amid ITV’s ‘bloodbath’ as the channel makes sweeping cuts to its daytime programming.

The broadcaster, who is reportedly paid a whopping £300K a year, was said to be left furious but managed to negotiate a new part time contract with bosses, which would see his hours and pay significant cut.

Meanwhile, according to the The Sun, Lorraine Kelly, 65, whose own show has been cut down to 30 minutes, was ‘asked to retire’ but she declined, opting instead to see out her reported £500K contact before leaving ITV for good at the end of next year.

A source told the publication: ‘This one has really rocked the ITV corridors because Richard is such a big name and a legend of daytime telly.

‘On Wednesday, word started to spread he’d been axed. But, by Friday, it became apparent Richard had a meeting with the network’s most senior bosses and he’s now being kept on in a more part-time role.

‘He’s got himself back on the show — but his hours are significantly cut.’

Presenter Cat Deeley confessed that relocating back to the UK with her husband Patrick Kielty and their two children was “really hard”. The pair, who have just announced their separation this week, had been living in the US for a considerable time. Cat, aged 48, and Patrick, 54, made the move from Los Angeles to London in 2020, after spending over a decade stateside. She hinted at a return to the US each summer for her role on So You Think You Can Dance.

The duo, married since 2012, reportedly chose to part ways partly due to concerns about g::n v10lence. Cat, who stepped in as host of This Morning upon her UK return, also mentioned the desire to be nearer to family and friends as a reason for their move.

In a conversation with the Sunday Times last year, Cat recounted their decision to move following an alarming incident where Patrick and one of their sons were told to take shelter in a shopping mall due to a suspected sht3r, which later turned out to be a false alarm over a suspicious package. Cat described the ordeal as “really scary” in the interview, reports the Mirror.

At that time, she also admitted finding the adjustment to the UK’s lack of sunshine “really hard”. Nonetheless, Cat acknowledged to the publication that the Los Angeles she returns to now feels different from the city she once knew.

She expressed her concerns, stating: “It doesn’t feel as safe as it used to be. There’s an edge, which wasn’t there before. The health system is failing miserably.”

Cat also highlighted the post-pandemic plight of “lots of vulnerable people” with “severe mental health issues” who have sadly slipped “through the net”.

During a 2020 appearance on ITV’s Lorraine, Cat revealed that a distressing incident at a mall was the “catalyst” for their decision to move back to the UK. She shared that the couple had “always” intended to return to be nearer to family for the benefit of their children.

“Our boys they’ve got grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins that they adore, and they adore them right back. For us, it was like, it’s such a special moment in time and you don’t get those times back again. So we had always thought we would bring them back here so they could know everybody in the family and friends.” she explained.

Recent speculation suggests Cat and Patrick have been leading separate lives for some time following their move. It’s rumoured that their time apart, with Patrick often working in Ireland, may have played a role in their split, which was confirmed today.mThe pair announced their separation through a joint statement released to the PA news agency.

In their statement, they announced: “We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved. We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.”

BREAKING NEWS: Reason revealed why Lorraine Kelly TURNED DOWN ITV’s Mega Contract – Sh0cking Successor emerges!

Just as Lorraine Kelly‘s beloved daytime show is about to be hit by savage cuts, her ratings have shot through the roof.

Currently being presented by Christine Lampard, 46, during the holidays, the ITV show, which will soon be cut right down to half the amount of hours on air, has overtaken This Morning.

This week, Lorraine’s programme has been attracting around 260,000 daily viewers, while This Morning, which has been presented by Rochelle Humes and Dermot O’Leary, has been attracting around 200,000 viewers.

Similarly last week, numbers for Lorraine averaged at 230,000, whereas This Morning had just 190,000.

The new numbers come as bosses announced a major shakeup to their offering of shows, with GMB, Lorraine and This Morning booted from their existing studios next year.

Lorraine and Loose Women face the brunt of the cuts, with GMB’s programme to be merged with ITN, who produce ITV News.

From January 2026, Good Morning Britain (GMB) will be extended by half an hour to fill the gap, running from 6am to 9:30am daily.

Lorraine, which currently runs for almost the entire year, will also only air for 30 weeks out of 52.

Loose Women will remain in its current slot – 12:30pm to 1:30pm daily – but again, will be cut to 30 weeks of the year.

This Morning, hosted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, is to remain in its 10am to 12:30pm slot on weekdays across the year.

Susanna Reid, 54, who has hosted Good Morning Britain since its launch in 2014, will remain one of the show’s main presenters.

Sources say Richard Madeley, 69, and Ed Balls, 58, will stay hosting alongside Ms Reid, whilst Charlotte Hawkins, 50, will also stay along with Ranvir Singh, 47.

However, it’s understood there will be limited shows for Adil Ray, 51.

Reports suggest ITV’s daytime staff currently amount to about 450 employees in total, however up to 220 jobs are said to be at risk.

Many viewers last week claimed to be ‘switching off’ from Lorraine – branding her ‘cringey’.

One episode saw her discussing Love Island to talk about a segment on the dangers online beauty filters.

Another part of the show recently saw her interviewing UK rapper AJ Tracey.

‘Lorraine is so cringey had to turn it off #lorraine,’ one viewer commented on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another chimed in: ‘This interview is just [vomit emoji] get rid of her ffs!’

While others said: ‘#lorraine Kelly’s days are numbered total fraudster.’

During the holiday period, Christine Lampard stands in for Lorriane.

Meanwhile Dermot, 52, and Rochelle, 36, stand in for Cat Deeley, 48, and Ben Shephard, 50.

The new ratings come as it was revealed Lorraine Kelly has reportedly signed a major deal with ITV rival Channel 4 for a huge budget travel series.

The announcement came as the year-round hour-long show was reduced to just 30 weeks of 30-minute slots from next year.

MailOnline previously revealed Lorraine was given the chance by ITV bosses to merge her daytime show with GMB to present the last 30 minutes of their broadcast, but she declined.

Last month, she was pulled into a meeting prior to the channel’s budget cuts announcement where she was offered the new proposal, which was considered an ‘easy fix’ after the same format was adopted during the pandemic.

Sources have revealed that Lorraine was ‘insulted’ by the suggestion and told bigwigs it wasn’t a possibility, resulting in the reduced runtime of her show from an hour to 30 minutes.

MailOnline understood that Lorraine, who has presented her show for the past 14 years, was prepared to ‘walk away’ but agreed to continue hosting the series until the end of 2026.

The star is predicted to quit for good next year after a new role titled ‘Head of Lorraine’ was created to oversee the changes, but the contract is only for a 12-month period.

Last month, ITV confirmed that ITN is taking over the output of Good Morning Britain while Lorraine and Loose Women will only air 30 weeks per year and are moving from Television Centre to a central London studio.
