20 Years UNDONE by 1 Allegati0n – Tearful John Torode QUITS MasterChef – Opens up about Heartbreaking Pressure that deeply affected his Family!

John Torode has claimed the BBC did not tell him he had been sacked from MasterChef after a report found he had used an ‘extremely offens1ve rac1st term’.

The star said tonight he was ‘seeing and reading’ he had been dropped from the show as he broke his silence in an explosive post on Instagram.

Torode, 59, also reiterated he had ‘no recollection’ of making a rac1st comment and said he did not believe it had happened.

His statement on Instagram read: ‘Although I haven’t heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay – I am seeing and reading that I’ve been “sacked” from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I’m accused of.

‘The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong.

‘I’d hoped that I’d have some say in my exit from a show I’ve worked on since its relaunch in 2005, but events in last few days seem to have prevented that.’

It comes after the BBC announced this afternoon that production company Banijay would not be renewing Torode’s MasterChef contract.

In a statement, the broadcaster said that it does not ‘tolerate rac1st language of any kind’ and that it has taken the findings of the report ‘extremely seriously’.

On Monday night, Torode confirmed he was the subject of an allegat10n of using rac1st language that was upheld as part of a review into the alleged behaviour of his co-presenter Gregg Wallace.

He said, however, he had ‘no recollection of the incident’ and was ‘shocked and saddened’ by the allegat10n.

Following the decision not to renew his contract, Torode revealed tonight the latest series of Celebrity MasterChef, which he filmed with Grace Dent, would be his last.

His statement continued: ‘Personally, I have loved every minute working on MasterChef, but it’s time to pass the cutlery to someone else. For whoever takes over, love it as I have.

‘I will watch fondly from afar as I now focus on the many other exciting projects that I have been working towards.

‘My tummy will be grateful for a rest after 20 years of eating, but what a joy it has been.

‘Life is everchanging and ever moving & sometimes personal happiness and fulfilment lay elsewhere.

‘Thank you for the many years of MasterChef.’

Torode claimed he had ‘absolutely no recollection’ of the incident and did ‘not believe it happened’

A source close to the 59-year-old claimed he was sharing drinks after filming when he is alleged to have used an inappropriate rac1al term.

The witness claimed Torode apologised instantly and ‘was mortified’ and he ‘didn’t use the term as a slur’.

No one complained at the time, but the incident was brought up during Wallace’s inquiry, the source said.

BBC spokesperson said: ‘John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegat10n of using rac1st language against him.

‘This allegat10n – which involves an extremely offens1ve rac1st term being used in the workplace – was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm, Lewis Silkin. John Torode denies the allegat10n.

‘He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened.

‘He also says that any rac1al language is wholly unacceptable in any environment.

‘The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate rac1st language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken.

‘John Torode’s contract on MasterChef will not be renewed.’

Meanwhile, director general Mr Davie has insisted that cookery show MasterChef can still prosper despite the loss of Wallace and Torode.

He said: ‘The BBC in some ways are quite simple on this, if someone is found to not live up to our values we expect the independent company, Banijay in this case, to take action and report back to us on what they have done.

‘These are not BBC employees, but we absolutely expect action to be taken.’

The director general added: ‘I think it’s a great programme that’s well loved by audiences is much bigger than individuals.

‘It absolutely can survive and prosper, but we’ve got to make sure we’re in the right place in terms of the culture of the show.’

A Banijay spokesperson said: ‘In response to John Torode’s statement, it is important to stress that Banijay UK takes this matter incredibly seriously.

‘The legal team at Lewis Silkin that investigated the allegat10ns relating to Gregg Wallace also substantiated an accusation of highly offens1ve rac1st language against John Torode which occurred in 2018.

‘This matter has been formally discussed with John Torode by Banijay UK, and whilst we note that John says he does not recall the incident, Lewis Silkin have upheld the very serious complaint. Banijay UK and the BBC are agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef.’

Torode is said to have been the subject of multiple allegat10ns before only one – relating to ‘rac1st language’ – was upheld, the Telegraph has reported.

One insider told the paper there had been a ‘massive cultural problem’ at the show going back decades.

‘For a long time, certain kinds of language and jokes were found acceptable,’ they said.

‘There is a massive cultural problem there, and it goes back 20 years, when attitudes and ways of working were different.’

It follows a separate report in The Sun claiming that Torode was asked by the BBC and production company Banijay to step down from MasterChef and then pretend he had mental health issues.

The source went on to explain that, ‘shockingly’, Torode was only made aware of the claim relating to his ‘rac1st language’ two weeks ago before being informed on Friday that it would be upheld.

Torode was reportedly called by the BBC on Thursday night, followed by an email on Friday asking him to quit.

The source reportedly said: ‘They ambushed him, and it was suggested he quit due to the stress and scrutiny of the furore around the show.

‘Obviously he was absolutely shocked and appalled and told them quite firmly he didn’t have any mental health issues. To try to use mental health as a get-out clause seems incredibly low — and is also deeply unfair to those with genuine mental health trauma.

‘John absolutely loves MasterChef, and doesn’t want to lose his job because of an investigation into his co-star.’

In his social media post last night, Torode said: ‘Following publication of the Executive Summary of the Investigation into Gregg Wallace while working on MasterChef, I am aware of speculation that I am one of the two other individuals against whom an allegat10n has been upheld.

‘For the sake of transparency I confirm that I am the individual who is alleged to have used rac1al language on one occasion.

‘The allegat10n is that I did so sometime in 2018 or 2019, in a social situation, and that the person I was speaking with did not believe that it was intended in a malicious way and that I apologised immediately afterwards.’

Torode went on to say he had ‘absolutely no recollection’ of the incident and did ‘not believe it happened’.

He added: ‘I want to be clear that I’ve always had the view that any rac1al language is wholly unacceptable in any environment.

‘I’m shocked and saddened by the allegat10n as I would never wish to cause anyone any offence.’

Wallace has hit out at the BBC with a new statement yesterday after 45 of 83 complaints against him were upheld in an independent probe

Meanwhile, an investigation into Wallace’s behaviour on the cooking show upheld 45 out of 83 complaints made against him.

The damning probe also found that two complaints about the behaviour of ‘other people’ were upheld.

While apologising for any ‘distress’ he caused, Wallace took aim at the MasterChef broadcaster, which he claims has valued ‘protecting its legacy’ over ‘protecting people’.

Warning that it was ‘dangerous’ to be a ‘working-class man with a direct manner’ in the world of broadcasting, he said he ‘won’t be the last’ to face cancellation.

The presenter said: ‘In the end, the BBC left me exposed to trial by media and the damage it leaves in its wake.

‘To those who’ve shown kindness, thank you. It mattered. This has been brutal. For a working-class man with a direct manner, modern broadcasting has become a dangerous place. I was the headline this time. But I won’t be the last.

‘There will be more casualties if the BBC continues down this path, where protecting its legacy matters more than protecting people. For my part, with full legal support, I will consider my next move.’

Patrick Holland, CEO of MasterChef production company Banijay, said he was ‘extremely sorry’ to those who had been impacted by Wallace’s behaviour and added that the report makes the star’s ‘return to MasterChef untenable’.

Wallace’s statement claimed that he ‘never set out to harm or humiliate’ anyone and that he was ‘deeply sorry for any distress caused’.

He said his ‘late autism diagnosis’ – which he received while he stepped back from MasterChef at the end of last year – has helped him to understand how he communicates and how he is perceived.

He said: ‘For eight months, my family and I have lived under a cloud. Trial by media, fuelled by rumour and clickbait. None of the serious allegat10ns against me were upheld.

‘I challenged the remaining issue of unwanted touching but have had to accept a difference in perception, and I am deeply sorry for any distress caused. It was never intended.

‘I’m relieved that the Banijay report fully recognises that my behaviour changed profoundly in 2018.

‘Some of my humour and language missed the mark. I never set out to harm or humiliate. I always tried to bring warmth and support to MasterChef, on screen and off.

‘After nearly 20 years on the show, I now see that certain patterns, shaped by traits I’ve only recently begun to understand, may have been misread. I also accept that more could have been done, by others and by myself, to address concerns earlier.

‘A late autism diagnosis has helped me understand how I communicate and how I’m perceived. I’m still learning. Banijay have given me great support, and I thank them.’

OVERJOYED: Coronation Street’s Tina O’Brien, 41, goes public with New Romance and reveals couple’s Future Plans after painful split from Ex-husband Adam Crofts, touching fans’ Hearts!

Coronation Street‘s Tina O’Brien has reportedly ‘found love again’ following her split from her husband of seven years, Adam Crofts.

The man in question, who bears a striking resemblance to her estranged husband, is allegedly an interior designer named Adam Fadlé, 38.

According to The Sun, the pair met through friends in their home town of Cheshire and have been on a string of dates.

A source told the publication: ‘Tina fell out of love with one Adam and then fell in love with another.

‘She’s been on a few dates with him and they’ve been very open with their relationship. They were out last week snogging like teenagers and they’ve been seen walking her dog by locals.

‘Tina looked totally mad for Adam and they couldn’t keep their hands off each other.’

MailOnline has contacted Tina’s representatives for comment.

The report adds that Fadlé studied architecture before opening his interior design business in 2010.

The source added that Tina and Fadlé are currently keeping their relations ‘low-key’.

In recent days, Tina was reportedly partying and letting her hair down as a single woman in the wake of her split from Crofts.

It was revealed last month that the Corrie star had split from her husband after weeks of speculation.

The estranged couple, who share ten-year-old son Beau, are said to be ‘on good terms’ for the sake of their son but their differing lifestyles reportedly drove them apart.

Tina is making the most of being a single woman and despite being upset that things didn’t work with Crofts, she is getting out and about with friends.

A source told The Sun: ‘Last weekend she really let her hair down at Colson Smith’s party and made sure she looked incredible.

‘Tina looks amazing and has no shortage of male attention – her recent bikini snaps certainly caught a few eyes though.’

Tina met Crofts in a Manchester coffee shop in 2011 and the couple tied the knot in a surprise NYE ceremony in 2018.

The star – who plays Sarah Platt in the ITV show – first sparked split rumours when she shared a photograph of herself at co-star Colson Smith’s leaving party in Manchester.

Taking to Instagram, Tina cut a glamorous figure in a red mini dress and posed with a bare ring finger on display, just weeks after jetting off on holiday without Crofts.

She further fuelled the speculation as she was seen with a notably bare finger while out for a cup of tea in Cheshire.

Friends then revealed the split as they said: ‘Tina and Adam have ended their relationship and are spending some time apart.

‘They moved house at Christmas and have decided to live separately for the time being.

The insider told The Sun: ‘Adam and Tina lead very different lives – he is really into his fitness, while she really enjoys going out with her mates and having a dance, which just isn’t for him.

‘It wasn’t an issue at first because they were head over heels, but as the kids have started to grow up it’s become more noticeable. Adam likes a quiet life and unfortunately that just isn’t Tina.’

John Torode has broken his silence just hours after he was axed from MasterChef after almost 20 years presenting the BBC cooking show. His departure comes days after Gregg Wallace, 60, was axed from the BBC series following an investigation into his behaviour. Following an internal investigation, John, 59, has also been forced to stand down after a historic accusation of rac1sm surfaced in the report.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (July 15), he wrote: “Although I haven’t heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay – I am seeing and reading that I’ve been ‘sacked’ from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I’m accused of. The enquiry could not even state the date or year of what I am meant to have said something wrong.

Torode began presenter MasterChef alongside Wallace back in 2005. On Monday night (July 14), Torode confirmed he was the subject of an allegati0n of using rac1st language which was upheld as part of a review carried out by law firm Lewis Silkin into the alleged behaviour of his co-presenter.

A statement from Banijay UK on Tuesday saud: “In response to John Torode’s statement, it is important to stress that Banijy UK takes this matter incredibly seriously. The legal team at Lewis Silkin that investigated the allegati0ns relating to Gregg Wallace also substantiated an accusation of highly offenseive rac1st language against John Torode which occured in 2018.

“This matter has been formally discussed with John Torode by Banijay UK, and whilst we note that John says he does not recall the incident. Lewis Silkin have upheld the very serious complaint. Banijay UK and the BBC are agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef.”

The Lewis Silkin report, commissioned by Banijay UK, found 45 of the 83 allegati0ns against Wallace were substantiated, alongside two standalone allegati0ns made against other people, including one for using rac1st language.

It comes after BBC Directo General Tim Davie has made his feelings clear about the axed MasterChef hosts. He confirmed that the culinary show would have a home on the flagship channel for many years to come and insisted that the show was “bigger than [the] individuals” who presented it.

Despite the scandal, he gave the cooking show his backing as he confirmed that it would have a home on the BBC beyond 2028. He said at the launch of the BBC’s annual report: “I absolutely think it does [have a future on the BBC beyond 2028].

“I think a great programme that’s well loved by audiences is much bigger than individuals. It absolutely can survive and prosper, but we’ve got to make sure we’re in teh right place in terms of the culture of the show.”

The BBC exec also said they are yet to make a decision about what to do with the series of MasterChef that was filmed last Autumn with axed presenters Gregg and John.

He went on: “In terms of the series [that is already filmed], I think this is a difficult decision. We need to weigh it up carefully, as we’re thinking through things.

“As editor-in-chief, I think my overwhelming concern is that we’ve got all the amateur chefs that gave their heart and soul to this program and we have to reflect on that.

“Talk to them, consult them, think about the audience, and then make a call, and that’s what we’re going through now. That’s the process we’re going through now.”

He concluded: “I’m not ruling out one way or the other or ruling out not airing it. I just want to go through the process. And then we can quickly make a call.”

John Torode has admitted that he had “no idea” about his MasterChef sacking until he read about it as he “hasn’t heard from anyone at the BBC or Banjay”. The cooking show presenter was axed from his hosting duties, not far behind his co-star Gregg Wallace, after a report upheld claims that he had made a “serious” rac1st remark.

In a statement on Instagram, the 59-year-old celebrity chef shared his surprise at his exit from the show, as he said: “Although I haven’t heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay – I am seeing and reading that I’ve been ‘sacked’ from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I’m accused of. The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong. Torode continued: “Over the past few months, I have been considering my life and the shape of it now and in the future. Celebrity MasterChef, which I recently filmed with Grace Dent along with two fantastic Christmas specials will be my last.

“Personally, I have loved every minute working on MasterChef, but it’s time to pass the cutlery to someone else. For whoever takes over, love it as I have.”

He added: “I will watch fondly from afar as I now focus on the many other exciting projects that I have been working towards. My tummy will be grateful for a rest after 20 years of eating, but what a joy it has been. Life is everchanging and ever moving & sometimes personal happiness and fulfilment lay elsewhere. Thank you for the many years of MasterChef.”

It comes as Torode admitted to being the name behind allegations, which were uncovered in an investigation into the behaviour of his co-star, Gregg Wallace – who was also sacked from MasterChef.

In total, the report says 83 allegations were made against Wallace, with the majority of the substantiated claims relating to inappropriate s3xual language and humour, but also culturally insensitive or rac1st comments. The dossier into Wallace’s behaviour also upheld a complaint that an unnamed person used a rac1al phrase on one occasion several years ago – which Torode later admitted was him.

On Monday, Torode admitted: “Following publication of the Executive Summary of the Investigation into Gregg Wallace while working on MasterChef, I am aware of speculation that I am one of the two other individuals against whom an allegation has been upheld.

“For the sake of transparency, I confirm that I am the individual who is alleged to have used rac1al language on one occasion. The allegation is that I did so sometime between 2018 or 2019, in a social situation, and that the person I was speaking with did not believe that it was intended in a malicious way and that I apologised immediately afterwards.”

He added: “I have absolutely no recollection of any of this, and I do not believe that it happened. However, I want to be clear that I’ve always had the view that any rac1al language is wholly unacceptable in any environment. I’m shocked and saddened by the allegation as I would never wish to cause anyone any offence.”

Confirming his sacking on Tuesday, a statement from the BBC read: “John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using rac1st language against him. This allegation – which involves an extremely offens1ve rac1st term being used in the workplace- was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm, Lewis Silkin.

“John Torode denies the allegation. He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any rac1al language is wholly unacceptable in any environment.

“The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate rac1st language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode’s contract on MasterChef will not be renewed.”

BREAKING SAD NEWS: The OLDEST man in the UK DI3S aged 110. GB News Interrupted its Broadcast to deliver the sad update about Donald Rose – a World Wr II veteran and officially the oldest Briton. His longevity secrets and historic milestones moved viewers to Tears!

GB News presenter Ben Leo interrupted his show to share the sad news the UK’s oldest World Wr 2 veteran has d13d. Looking solemn he said: “A really sad story. Donald Rose… the UK’s oldest surviving World Wr 2 veteran has sadly d13d at the age of 110. Mr Rose served in the Queen’s Royal Regiment as a sniper and survived a bullet to the leg during the D-Day landings. He served in North Africa and Europe, and was awarded the French Legion of Honour, the highest award the French can give.”

As he listed off Rose’s accomplishments a picture of the veteran was broadcast on screens. Leo then paid his own tribute saying: “I just want to say, and I’m sure the panel agree, all of us at GB News send our sincere condolences to his family, and thank Mr. Rose, and indeed all his his colleagues and compatriots for their extraordinary service to our country. May he rest in peace.”

The news was confirmed by Erewash Borough Council, which presented Mr Rose with a freedom honour in May. Receiving the award he said it was “great”, adding “I didn’t do anything that anybody else wouldn’t have done.”

Born on Christmas Eve 1914 Rose, who lived in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, was also the UK’s oldest man and put his longevity down to salty water he had to drink during his time as a Desert Rat.

During the celebrations to mark the 80th anniversay of VE Day in May this year he was part of a special episode of BBC’s The One Show during which he filmed with comedian and wr history enthusiast Al Murray.

He also joined 45 other veterans as guests of honour at a tea party celebration hosted by the Royal British Legion at the National Memorial Arboretum, to mark the occasion.

While he was lauded at anniversary celebrations Rose admitted he never celebrated VE Day at the time.

“When I heard that the armistice had been signed 80 years ago, I was in Germany at Belsen and, like most active soldiers, I didn’t get to celebrate at that time.

“We just did what we thought was right and it was a relief when it was over,” he said.

On his 110th birthday he was serenaded by opera star Alfie Boe via video call, who sang him a special version of Happy Birthday and he also received a card from Buckingham Palace.

    Emmerdale's Cain Dingle

ITV’s beloved soap Emmerdale left fans saying the same thing as Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) was forced to face reality after trying to help Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) on her arduous journey to become a mother. After the 20-year-old’s emergency hysterectomy, her family came together to try and find a surrogate to fulfil her desire to have a child, but had no success with official surrogate agencies.

Eventually, Cain decided to help the family look for hopefuls privately and illegally. After finding a potential surrogate, the mechanic headed to The Woolpack to meet the woman. Cain tragically realised that he had been sc2mmed. This came as a devastating blow as he was attempting to find a silver lining after the shocking d3ath of his son, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter). Taking to social media with anticipation, one predicted: “Cain has been sc2mmed by a pretend surrogate, he’s going to get angry with everyone now, because that’s what he always does.”

Another remarked: “So Cain’s that thick he just accepts a photo.” As a third added: “Cain Dingle getting sc2mmed, not on my 2025 bingo card.”

“Moira and Cain were struggling for money last week, now Cain has money for a surrogate for Sarah,” said a viewer.

Meanwhile, others praised the camera angle used to portray Cain’s dismay, as he looked at himself in the bathroom mirror in despair and shared: “The shot of Cain in the mirror while they’re talking about him… camera work is so simple but underrated on her.”

Another fan echoed: “The way Cain was standing looking in the mirror while everyone else was talking about him. What a camera angle.”

After heading outside the pub and confirming there was “no sign” of the surrogate, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) suggested: “Maybe she’s changed her mind, it is a lot to ask.”

While Cain insisted: “She’s not going to let us down, I paid for her travel.” This prompted Ryan Lamb to question how much the woman was paid, and they were shocked to discover he’d forked out £500 for her not to appear.

After noticing their looks, the mechanic explained: “It’s illegal to pay for a surrogate in this country. You can only pay them expenses, so they bump them up.”

As Ryan double checked the woman’s details, Cain told Chas: “She’s married with three kids, you can see from her photo that she’s just a normal woman who wants to help Sarah out.”

However, as the website quickly revealed an error notification, Ryan informed Cain: “That page doesn’t exist, it must’ve been taken down. It’s a sc2m.” In a fit of rage and fury, Cain slapped a glass off the table before heading to the bathroom to look at himself in the mirror in disappointment.

David Mitchell has revealed a heartbreaking confession about the overwhelming sadness that once overshadowed his life. In his memoir Back Story, the Peep Show star admitted that he was “hopelessly in love” with his now-wife, Victoria Coren, for years before they became a couple, but kept his feelings hidden from everyone around him. In an emotional and candid admission, the 50-year-old comedian shared that his unrequited love for Victoria cast a long shadow over his life when she rejected him.

“I was hopelessly in love. I told no one about it,” he discloses in his book. “I didn’t tell my closest friends or my parents of the enormous sadness that overshadowed my life.” It was years before she agreed to go on a date. “I waited three years. Isn’t that weird? Aren’t I odd? I can’t explain it other than to say I couldn’t do anything else,” he says. “If only I’d known I just had to wait three years… I would gladly have suffered ten times as much.”

Despite his heartbreak, the Peep Show star never let on to anyone just how deeply it affected him. His usual awkward, self-deprecating persona hid the pain he felt in his personal life. “The problem is, I hate the sort of dating thing,” he admits. “I just find it incredibly awkward… I don’t dislike being single enough to put myself through the pain.” BBC Only Connect host Victoria, 52, had an instant connection with David when they first met at a Halloween party in 2007, introduced by comedian David Baddiel.

Victoria admitted: “He specifically said to me, ‘There’s David Mitchell over there, I think you should probably marry him, I’ll get the ball rolling by introducing you. I thought that was ridiculous but, a couple of hours later, I thought I would probably marry him,” reports MSN. Victoria initially dismissed the idea, but by the end of the evening, she was convinced. Despite their immediate bond, it wasn’t until years later that they went on their first official date.

“I thought that was ridiculous, but a couple of hours later, I thought I would probably marry him,” she recalls. Although they clicked right away, timing wasn’t on their side. Victoria was still mourning the loss of her father, Alan Coren, who passed away from cnc3r in 2007.

David patiently waited for the right moment, never pushing her but always holding on to the hope of a future together. Their first official date finally took place in 2010, and they married in 2012. David has always been open about how deeply he loves Victoria. “I am just incredibly proud that someone like Victoria wants to be with me,” he says.

“She has these amazing qualities, but fundamentally, we clicked. I fell in love with her.” In his memoir, he describes her as “too wonderful” and “too right for me.” The couple welcomed the arrival of their two daughters—Barbara Elizabeth in 2015 and June Violet in 2023.

Sh0ck at Sewing Bee: Glendora falls ill last minute, no one gets sent home1

A contestant on The Great British Sewing Bee was forced to miss a challenge, with host Sara Pascoe explaining her absence halfway through the show.

The much-loved sewing contest made its comeback on BBC One tonight, featuring judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant ready to mentor a fresh crop of tailoring talents.

Yet, after participating in the initial task and finishing her second challenge piece, Glendora found herself unable to partake in the judging and last task as she fell ill.

Sara, who resumed her presenting duties post-maternity leave, announced: “Unfortunately though, Glendora feels unwell so won’t be attending the judging.”

Glendora’s absence didn’t prevent her circle skirt from being judged; it secured ninth place despite her not being there for the transformation challenge critique, reports the Mirror.

When it came time for the Made to Measure challenge, where contestants were to craft a flawlessly fitted dress featuring pleats, Glendora was notably missing.

Sara informed the group: “Unfortunately, Glendora is still unwell and won’t be joining us today, but we wish her better and hopefully she’ll be back with us soon.”

Earlier in the show, 59-year-old bus driver Glendora shared that she took up sewing at the age of eight.

Boasting an impressive feat of crafting 36 quilts since June 2021, she described her sewing approach as “ambitious”.

“My sewing style is classic, I’m not whacky and strange… that’s probably me personally but my clothes tend to be quite classic lines,” Glendora remarked.

“If I wouldn’t wear it, it’s not worth me making it,” she continued.

With Glendora’s withdrawal from the final challenge, judge Patrick conceded it seemed the “fair thing” to avoid eliminating anyone, leaving numerous contestants emotional upon realising they’d progressed to next week’s episode, where two participants would face departure.

He explained: “We’ve had a phenomenal first week, we’ve had a fantastic group of sewers, and with Glendora not taking part in the challenge today, it just felt like the fair thing to do to send nobody home.”

Viewers were thrilled by The Sewing Bee’s return to television tonight, flocking to X to express their enthusiasm.

“Oh I do love this, so pleased it’s back,” one posted.

Another declared: “Ten weeks of entertainment ahead my favourite #SewingBee is back.”

“When there’s a new season of the #sewingbee so i get to fangirl over sara’s outfits every week,” a third commented.

Comedian Sara resumed her hosting duties – having succeeded previous presenters Claudia Winkleman and Joe Lycett – following a year’s hiatus during which Kiell Smith-Bynoe served as her temporary substitute.

Previewing the fresh series, she revealed to Radio Times that this year she felt she truly “bedded into” casual conversation, noting the new participants are “really good chatters”.

“They’ve all got banter,” she noted. “They’re really good at Dad jokes and puns. And they’re happy to muck around.

“None of them are too stressed about the sewing… or if they were stressed, they hid it well.”

During Tuesday night’s offering, viewers were in awe when former Strictly Come Dancing finalist and JLS star JB, 38, visited a “secluded” beach rarely visited by the public. The Channel 5 host let viewers in on the hidden gem he frequents with his wife and children.

Just a short drive from my house – it’s fair to say I’m a regular here.” He continued: “This is one of my favourite beaches. JB went on: “You might see a few people in the distance but it is a very chilled, very private beach.”

Botany Bay is a famous hidden gem that offers stunning views of white cliffs and beautiful chalk stacks.

It is a more secluded bay, located between Margate and Broadstairs, and is a great location for fossil hunting and exploring rock pools.

Elsewhere, Escape to the Country presenter Jules, set sail on the Devon coast as he visited one of the most picturesque spots in a town called Salcombe where he made a discovery.

Salcombe is one of the most affluent coastal towns in the UK with the average house price costing £1million and is a popular spot for sailing.

As he travelled on the water, Jules was introduced to the real “Beverly Hills” as sprawling mansions could be see on the hillside.

Jules said: “This is some of the most expensive real estate in the country.”

He added famous inhabitants live in the coastal town including Mary Berry, while Geri Halliwell and Sir Rod Stewart are regular visitors.
