“Channel 4 thrilled to sign Lorraine” – ITV viewers Stunned as her career’s final Stop turns out to be a Rival?

Lorraine Kelly is reported to be filming a a big-budget travel series for Channel 4 as her long-term ITV daytime show faces cutbacks.

Her major new deal comes after ITV makes cash-saving cuts to daytime programmes including her self-titled show, Lorraine, which runs on the channel weekdays from 9am. The Scottish presenter’s year-round hour-long show will be reduced to just 30 weeks of 30-minute slots as part of the changes.

Lorraine – who has worked for ITV since 1984, including GMTV with Eamonn Holmes – flew to Norway last month for the secret project, reports The Sun

A source said: “Channel 4 were delighted to have Lorraine on board. It was exciting for Lorraine to do something different and be on location again.”

They continued: “Despite the apparent slight in the ITV daytime shake up, Lorraine’s loyal fanbase isn’t to be underestimated and they will follow her wherever she goes. She’s survived in this business a long time and she’s a master at rolling with the punches.”

Channel 4 has been approached by the Daily Express for comment.

The switch by Lorraine, 65, comes after the job of Head of Lorraine was axed, with her two producers now reporting to This Morning bosses.

The source added: “This latest shake-up and slimming-down of Lorraine’s dedicated team casts further doubt on the long-term future of the show after her contract finishes next year. She’s opening her eyes up to the many options available to her.”

A disappointed Lorraine show source said: “Amid these changes the team have been gutted. They can’t understand why ITV would want to dismantle such a successful rating-busting programme. It’s a great shame.”

Lorraine has been a familiar face on ITV for decades

Lorraine, who is a regular guest on Channel 4’s comedy panel show The Last Leg, revealed last month that she relishes broadening her horizons.

Speaking to chef Tom Kerridge on the Proper Tasty podcast, she said: “Forty years in TV last year was incredible. I got a Bafta. ‘Here’s a Bafta for being alive’.

“I thought, ‘Hang on a minute, I’m not done yet’. I think now I can be a lot cheekier. I’ve always been a bit naughty. Not so much in the morning but if I do a wee show on Channel 4, or The Last Leg, or something like that, you can be unleashed. I quite like that.”

ITV said: “We have always said that from January 2026, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will be three editorially distinct shows which will be produced by one team.

“These changes are not about the performance of the shows or the staff. We can assure our viewers that their favourite daytime shows will remain familiar to them on screen.”

  • An EMOTIONAL PLEA to everyone who was there or watched Live Aid – PRIDE OF BRITAIN: 40th anniversary (1985) VIDEO introduced by BBC Breakfast host Rachel Burden. Not just glamorous entertainment, But DEEPLY Meaningful Human Values moving viewers to Tears with Unforgettable Memories.

An EMOTIONAL PLEA to everyone who was there or watched Live Aid – PRIDE OF BRITAIN: 40th anniversary (1985) VIDEO introduced by BBC Breakfast host Rachel Burden. Not just glamorous entertainment, But DEEPLY Meaningful Human Values moving viewers to Tears with Unforgettable Memories.

Rachel Burden was forced to make a BBC Breakfast plea, requesting for viewers to get in touch after a Live Aid clip was shown from more than 40 years ago.

In the “overwhelming” snippet, fans were shown a montage from the momentous day which took place on July 13, 1985, at Wembley Stadium.

Fans lucky enough to bag themselves a ticket to Bob Geldof’s charitable event, would have paid £25 per ticket – with £20 of the proceeds going to charity.

To mark the 40th anniversary since the likes of Bob Geldof, Status Quo, Bono, Tony Hadley and many more stars from the ’80s took to the stage for the first time ever together, BBC chatted to those who had actually been there.

Opening the segment to mark four decades, Rachel said: “Now I wonder if you remember what happened on this day in 1985 when the world’s biggest stars came together for what would become one of the biggest gigs in pop music history Live Aid.

“The aim of the transatlantic event was to raise funds for those affected by the Ethiopian famine that claimed the lives of more than a million people. 40 years later, our reporter Piers Hob Cable has been hearing from some of those people involved.”

One concert goer described the event as “the best day of my life” while another said “it was spine-tingling” from start to finish.

Sue Goddard said: “It was absolutely incredible and I have to say I had shivers up my spine. It was incredible.” Singer Tony Hadley also recalled a “spine-tingling moment” watching Status Quo take to the stage before him with their hit Rocking All Over The World, thinking at the time: “Wow this is really happening.”

Elaine Hills also recalled a hilarious and life changing moment when Bono hopped into the crowd and selected her from the thousands of people to join him on stage.

Not wanting to miss an opportunity, Elaine of course jumped at the chance but took a huge risk of her being spotted by her mum, who she’d promised she wouldn’t go to the concert.

Word did get back to Elaine’s mum, that not only had she been at the concert but got on stage with U2’s lead singer Bono and she wasn’t too pleased. However, Elaine said she did come around eventually and they shared a smile.

Elaine commented: “She told me she was proud of me”. Following their testimonials of the live gig, BBC Breakfast returned to the studio with host Rachel, who was keen to hear from others at the event.

Rachel said: “Wow, and you can watch the three part documentary Live Aid at 40 When Rock ‘n’ Roll Took on the World.”

The host added: “Its brilliant actually, I’ve seen the first part, it’s on iPlayer right now. There’s also a Radio 2 special called Live Aid the Fans Story which is available on BBC Sounds.”

Rachel urged people to get in touch (Image: BBC)

Making a public plea, she further urged: “And we’d love to hear from you, your memories of that day.”

At this point, a telephone number and email address was flagged up on the screen for people to get in touch, Rachel continued: “Maybe you were there? Do you remember watching it at home?

“Do get in touch in all the usual ways on screen right now, we’d love to hear from you.”

Roger Ailes: How 'Cruelest Lesson' Fueled Rise of Fox News Chief

Roger Ailes, the media mastermind who changed U.S. television news and shaped political conversation for two decades with Fox News, has died at age 77. His wife, Elizabeth Ailes, said he passed away after a fall in his bathroom at their Palm Beach home, which caused bleeding in the brain.

Born in Ohio, Ailes battled hemophilia and grew up glued to TV screens—later turning them into a source of power. He was an advisor to Presidents Nixon, Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and briefly to Donald Tr::u::mp. Known for being brash, confrontational, and defiant, he famously said at the launch of Fox News with Rupert Murdoch in 1996: “Will we be criticized? Hell, yes. Do I care? Hell, no!”

Under his leadership, Fox News quickly overtook competitors like CNN, boosted by hosts like Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity. Hannity tweeted: “He dramatically changed the media and politics forever.” Murdoch called him a “brilliant broadcaster and great patriot.”

But in 2016, Ailes’ empire collapsed within weeks after former host Gretchen Carlson accused him of s3xual misc0nduct, leading over 20 women to share similar claims. Although Megyn Kelly stayed silent, the scandal forced Murdoch and his sons to remove Ailes just as Trump was nominated.

Earlier, Ailes faced criticism for controversial campaign ads, like the rac1ally charg3d Willie Horton ad in 1988. Still, he insisted: “I only did what it took to win.”

Ailes leaves behind a Fox News once seen as his empire, and a legacy marked by genius, power, controversy, and scandal.

She posted: “Dad will keep guiding me with his grace and strength from Heaven beside Mom. I am theirs and they are mine forever.” As a child, she took her father’s last name as her first, and later adopted Falkner from a distant relative. Her father, a veteran, was born on Flag Day and taught: “Praise God, love America and all Americans, especially when we disagree. Do all you can for those who can offer only company.”

LeBron and Kobe: Is the Legacy they left behind more important than who’s Greater?

LeBron and Kobe: Is the Legacy they left behind more important than who’s Greater?

    LeBron James - Wikipedia

For more than a decade, the question “Who’s greater: LeBron or Kobe?” has ignited endless debate in the basketball world. But beyond cold statistics, this is really a story of two contrasting basketball philosophies — and a heartfelt tribute to Kobe Bryant, who tragically left us in 2020.

LeBron James, “The King,” is famous for an all-around brilliance rarely seen in NBA history: career averages of about 27 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game; 4 NBA championships (2012, 2013, 2016, 2020); 4 regular-season MVP awards; and, notably, becoming the NBA’s all-time leading scorer after surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 2023.

Kobe Bryant Was a Basketball Giant. But It Was His Dedication That Made Him a Legend.

Kobe Bryant, the “Black Mamba,” embodied an uncompromising competitive spirit: 5 NBA titles (2000–2002, 2009, 2010), 2 Finals MVP awards, and a career scoring average of roughly 25 points per game. His legendary 81-point game in 2006 remains the second-highest single-game scoring performance in NBA history, behind only Wilt Chamberlain.

Fans often contrast the two: LeBron is the ultimate playmaker, elevating teammates and reading the floor with near-supernatural vision, while Kobe was a relentless scorer whose “Mamba Mentality” drove him to fight until the very end.

Kobe’s sudden d3ath alongside his daughter Gianna in January 2020 left an unhealable scar in the hearts of millions. LeBron, showing profound respect and emotion, once said:

“Kobe shaped the way we play the game and inspired an entire generation.”

Today, the debate over “who’s better” will likely go on, but what remains beyond question is this: both LeBron and Kobe are immortal legends of the game, each in their own way — and their legacies will live on forever in the story of the NBA.

BREAKING NEWS – GOAT Taurasi “WARNS” Clark before the BIG CLASH – HISTORIC SHOWDOWN of 2 generations Shakes the WNBA!

Caitlin Clark's future is 'so bright,' WNBA legend Diana Taurasi says | Fox News

In the 2024–2025 WNBA season, the dialogue between veteran Diana Taurasi (42) and rookie sensation Caitlin Clark (22) has ignited headlines, revisiting the age-old question: Can the new generation truly inherit the greatness of the past?

Diana Taurasi, who has dedicated her entire 20-year career to the Phoenix Mercury, holds the record as the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer with over 10,000 career points. A three-time WNBA champion (2007, 2009, 2014) and six-time Olympian with six gold medals, Taurasi is often hailed as the GOAT of women’s basketball in the U.S.

Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury retires after 20 WNBA seasons, 3 titles and 6 Olympic golds | AP News

By contrast, Caitlin Clark, the No.1 overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft out of Iowa, stunned fans with college averages of 28.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.1 rebounds per game, finishing with over 3,900 career points — the highest in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history.

Tensions sparked when Taurasi bluntly warned:

“Reality is coming. It’s a tough league.”
Some fans called this too harsh, while others viewed it as a necessary wake-up call from someone who knows how grueling the league can be.

    Caitlin Clark - Wikipedia

Clark responded calmly, showing respect and focusing on rebuilding the Indiana Fever, a franchise without a title since 2012.

As Taurasi gears up to represent Team USA at the Paris 2025 Olympics, Clark has yet to secure a spot on the national team — another topic that has fueled debate among fans about how soon she might join the league’s elite.

Despite differing perspectives, Taurasi and Clark are shaping the WNBA’s most captivating storyline this season: a living legend versus a new spark of hope for women’s basketball. One thing is certain: fans can’t wait to see them share the court and find out who truly rules the game.

THERE was yet another shock in Emmerdale with an exit as a soap legend left the dales again just days after making a dramatic return.

Viewers tuned into the long-running ITV soap to see Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) tie the knot with John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).

Aaron’s ex-husband Robert (Ryan Hawley) made a sensational Emmerdale comeback as he attempted to stop the nuptials.

He was previously seen on-screen when he was sent down for the mu:rd3r of Lee, who r@p3d his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins).

The character was sentenced to fourteen years without parole and he was transferred to a different pr1s0n that was far away from the village.

However, Robert was released early and he found out about Aaron’s wedding on social media.

He admitted that he still loved Aaron and the pair kissed on the bridge, before he got into a fight with John.

On tonight’s episode that was uploaded to ITVX, Robert will make another exit.

After Aaron chooses to go through with the wedding to John, Robert is arrested for breaking the terms of his licence.

Suspecting that John reported his half-brother to the police for missing his first probation meeting, he soon gets dragged back to pr1s0n.

He calls Victoria who is celebrating the wedding of her other brother from the Woolpack.

Although Robert reminds her that he and Aaron once took their vows in front of the village residents, she urges him to admit defeat.

Emmerdale shock return as Aaron’s wedding to serial killer is gatecrashed by ex
She tells him that ultimately, Aaron chose John, but Robert was not having it, as he replied: “For now maybe.”

Victoria then asks how long he will remain behind bars, to which he says: “For a while maybe.

“I guess you should use this time to put it all behind you, admit that you’ve lost and move on.”

Robert then put the phone down and disgruntledly made his way back to his cell.

    Aaron Dingle’s biggest storylines

The character Aaron Dingle (formerly Livesy) made his Emmerdale debut all the way back in 2003. Current actor Danny Miller took on the role in 2008. Here are some of Aaron’s biggest soap storylines over the years.

McFarlane family: After Aaron returns to the village in 2008, he is arrested by Ross Kirk (Samuel Anderson) for possession of drugs. His mother Chas’ (Lucy Pargeter) family later learn he is a drug courier for the McFarlanes.
Coming to terms with his homosexuality: Initially, Aaron questioned and struggled to come to terms with his homosexuality. He ultimately confided in friend and guardian Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).
Romantic advance towards Adam Barton: At one point, Aaron begins dating Holly Barton (Sophie Powles) and befriends her brother Adam (Adam Thomas). Aaron tries to kiss Adam after they are involved in a run-off road collision. Embarrassed, he tells Adam that he misunderstood the situation. Aaron sleeps with Holly, however, Adam informs his family that he thinks Aaron is gay. Aaron denies it but Holly ends the relationship.
Child sexual abuse: In 2015, it was revealed Aaron had been sexually abused by his father Gordon (Gary Mavers) when he was  from the age of 8 before Gordon kicked him out. Ultimately, Gordon was impr1s0ned years later – but took his own life while in pr1s0n.
Relationship with Jackson Walsh: Aaron and Jackson Walsh (Marc Silcock) started dating after a tumultuous start to knowing each other. Their story ultimately ended in heartbreak, as Jackson died by assisted su1c1d3.
Su1c1d3attempt: A harrowing storyline from 2010 saw a then-teenage Aaron attempt to take his own life.
Relationship with Robert Sugden: Aaron and long-standing character Robert Sugden were romantically linked following the latter’s return in 2014. Nicknamed “Robron”, the pair married in 2018, however, Robert exited the soap in 2019.

This is sure to be a shock to viewers as it was previously revealed that Ryan will be back permanently, although his first return was only for an initial short stint.

A source said: “It will soon become clear that Robert’s freedom isn’t all that it seems and he will end up back behind bars for a little while.

“His full-time return will come later in the summer and it’s set to be explosive.”

The actor previously broke his silence on his huge soap comeback, saying: “It sets up a fantastic few episodes to finish off the wedding week which shows how the incident of Robert turning up will resolve itself.”

ABC boss planning another major shakeup – and GMA3 anchors could be next for axe by end of summer.

In March, ABC News’ president sent a memo confirming the future of GMA and GMA3 after staffers at ABC began packing up their desks following cuts.

Almin Karamehmedovic, the president of ABC News, circulated a memo to employees warning of big changes last month, and now some of those proposed changes are seemingly coming to light.

Good Morning America 3 hosts DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim could be in the firing line as rumors that Karamehmedovic will replace them ramps up.

The pair took over the 1pm time slot in 2023 following the affair between married co-anchors TJ Holmes and Amy Robach.

In Karamehmedovic’s memo that was circulated among staffers in March, the restructuring of the network alluded to proposed plans to merge 20/20 and Nightline, as well as consolidating its Good Morning America productions.

The future of Good Morning America has looked different for some time, with a huge shakeup poised to impact the show.

At the time of his memo, Karamehmedovic assured staffers that the GMA3 show would not be axed.

But now a source has revealed that by the summer, things could be a lot different.

“GMA3 won’t be there at the end of the summer,” an insider said to The New York Post about the current hosts of the show.

A spokesperson then told the outlet, “What we have said from the beginning is that we are unifying all day parts under the GMA umbrella and team and that includes seeing all members of the extended GMA family in the third hour.”

The spokesperson added, “The third hour is a valued part of the GMA franchise. Robin, George and Michael have been on before and they will continue to be featured.”

GMA and its third hour GMA3 – for some time – has been rumored to be consolidated into one production unit, instead of the two separate units it currently functions as.

This means DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim could be out of the door by the time summer arrives, if The Post’s insider is correct.

The flagship program is in need of having its ratings improved, which is what the network is currently focusing on.

This comes after GMA’s ratings fell behind NBC’s Today show.
