An ex-Emmerdale actress was left living in a “r@t-1nf3sted” council house after losing a “fortune” when she quit the ITV soap. Kerry Stacey is best known for her role as Tonicha Daggert in Emmerdale from 2005 until 2007 – and her short-lived romance with Paddy Dingle. The on-again, off-again couple eventually became engaged but broke up after one miscommunication too many, with Toni leaving the village for good.

After leaving the ITV soap, Kerry decided to launch her own drama school in Nottingham, gushing at its launch: “I want to give back as much as possible. I want to help people find work.” But a year later, bankruptcy orders were issued by Nottingham County Court relating to her acting business and casting company, and she was declared bankrupt.

She continued to act, landing a brief role in BBC soap Doctors, but her last on-screen job came in 2016 with her role as Mrs Cave in three episodes of the TV series Jamie Johnson. Despite having appeared In everything from Casualty to The Bill over the years, she was forced to move into a “r@t-1nf3sted” council flat.

Kerry lost thousands of pounds when her acting school closed after three years, and she moved into social housing with her two young children. She admitted to the Glasgow Times: “Since leaving Emmerdale, things have been tough.

“I was young and a bit immature, and all of a sudden I had the money to be able to do the things that I wanted to […] Initially it went very well, but things started to take a turn for the worse when I started to offer free lessons.

“It meant that I couldn’t pay the costs of renting the premises, and very quickly my life started to turn upside down.” She added that moving into social housing was “absolutely horrific”, with she and her kids “c0ughing up blck and br0wn phlegm constantly”, as well as suffering several bouts of bronchitis the she blamed on mould and “huge holes in the wall” of her home.

She said they were “tr3ated like d0gs” and left “frzing c0ld” in the accommodation, which had “s3wage com1ng through the t@ps” and rats coming in through the walls.

In 2018, a representative for Nottingham City Homes said in response: “We have attempted on several occasions to visit to assess the situation and carry out any actual repairs.

“We will also be offering again to support Miss Stacey in her wish to move house, as despite having a high priority status for a move, she has not been bidding for any new properties, so she may require extra support.”

The Chase superfans have shared their concerns online after the same quiz show was axed in Spain earlier this year as many took to Reddit to share their fears. The Chase first launched in the UK in 2009 with presenter Bradley Walsh at the helm. It has been a beloved fixture in the mid-evening slot for over 15 years. Loyal viewers have since taken to social media and suggested the show could revamp two key areas. It comes after the Spanish version of The Chase, titled El Cazador, was cancelled. It concluded its run in April 2025, after being on the air since February 2020. The cancellation was reportedly due to declining ratings.

One Reddit user mused: “The show isn’t as fresh as it used to be and could do with them trying out new things to freshen up the formula.” But one loyal viewer hit back: “I disagree. The format is good as is. Spain tried changing the format last year and now the show is being cancelled. Australia also changed some things this year which I believe made the show worse and more complicated than it needs to be.”

ITV viewers were left appalled after a ‘totally inappropriate’ joke at Christine Lampard‘s expense was broadcast.

Christine, 46, was standing in as usual for Lorraine Kelly as she anchored the Friday edition of her breakfast show.

During the programme viewers watched as the mum-of-twospoke to former EastEnders actress Tanya Franks.

The star, best known for playing Rainie Cross in the soap, spoke about her new role in comedy A Role To Die For.

However, viewers were left stunned when the Northern Irish TV host crossed live to resident GP Dr Amir Khan.

The medic was live from Ilkley Pool and Lido in Bradford as he offered viewers advice on tackling a heatwave and remaining cool as an alert is issued for parts of England.

During the segment, Amir and Christine were discussing the hose pipe ban that is currently in place by Yorkshire Council.

He then told her: ‘There is one thing that is dulling my pain from not being able to water the garden and that is being up close and personal with you…’

Amir continued: ‘Check out my shorts Christine,’ he said as the camera panned down, revealing pictures of Christine’s face dotted around the swimming attire.

As the doctor waved his legs, Christine was lost for words as she burst out laughing.

Styling it out like a professional, she then asked: ‘Did you make those yourself? I’m very impressed.’

However, viewers were appalled when he quipped: ‘I’ve been waiting my whole life to have you anywh3re n3ar my nether regi0ns, Christine, so it is the day, it is the day.’

Dr Amir Khan recently showed off his new look to fans during a remote appearance on Good Morning Britain.

He dialed into the programme sporting a thick moustache, a big switch-up from his usual clean shaven look.

Fans flooded social media with their reactions to his new look, as one joked: ‘Check out Dr Amir with his moustache.’

A second commented: ‘What is with this obsession with moustaches atm? They’re everywhere #gmb.’

Bruno Tonioli is reportedly set to quit Britain’s Got Talent after just two series in a major blow to the show.

Bruno, 69, joined the ITV variety programme in 2023, replacing David Walliams who d3parted under a cl0ud.

He joined Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon last year and returned for its most recent series, which became the show’s longest yet.

However, the flamboyant former Strictly Come Dancing judge’s jam-packed schedule is making it harder to lock him down for filming BGT.

A TV insider told The Sun: ‘The filming schedule in 2024 meant that Bruno could get away with not being present for filming one week of auditions.

‘But it would be virtually impossible for him to miss two weeks, because in the final edit, that equates to half the episodes in the new three-month run of BGT, which will air from February of 2026.

‘There is absolutely no ill feeling about the situation, it’s simply down to changes in the schedule making it incredibly difficult to remain as a full time judge.

‘The only hope is if his long-time friend and fellow panellist Simon Cowell steps in to make it clear that he has to be a part of the show, no matter how difficult it proves to be.’

The publication adds that comedian Alan Carr – who narrowly missed out on the spot to Bruno, could be drafted in as his replacement.

Meanwhile, singer KSI, who stood in on the most recent series as a guest judge, is also on the shortlist after winning viewers over.

Previously addressing chatter about KSI to become a permanent judge, Bruno showed he wasn’t phased.

He said: ‘We’re both young, attractive, multi-talented stars known the world over.

‘Joking aside, I think KSI is fantastic — a real charming man full of energy. We attended the BRITs together too, which was a fabulous evening.’

It was recently revealed how the auditions for the next series of Britain’s Got Talent will take place in just Blackpool, in October.

Viewers saw the show kick off in February this year, with episodes airing each Saturday night, replacing the traditional nightly episodes.

The live semi-finals – which usually air nightly over the course of one week, were also shown on Saturday nights.

MailOnline revealed how Alan, 49, broke down in tears when BGT producers told him he didn’t bag the vacant chair on the judging panel as Simon favoured Brno.

He said how he ‘regretted’ the move as it would have seen the funnyman work with close pal Amanda Holden.

A life in the spotlight comes with its drawbacks – many of which the Royal Family are all too aware of.

As well as intense media scrutiny, the royals have also faced attempted k1dnappings, home invasions and even assass1nat10n plots.

In light of these threats the most famous family in Britain has learnt to take extra precautions to avoid harm.

And one royal took this to the extreme.

Diana, Princess of Wales, was so concerned about her wellbeing that she took a ‘dangerous’ driving course and learnt how to use a g::n, according to Andrew Morton’s bestselling biography, Diana: Her True Story.

Diana’s fears for her wellbeing reportedly stemmed from her bodyguard.

‘The presence of a bodyguard was a constant reminder of the invisible veil which separated her from her family and friends.

‘It was the awareness that she is now a possible target for an anonymous terrorist or an unknown madman,’ Morton wrote.

The princess also cited previous attcks as ‘ample proof of the constant danger’.

This included Ian Ball’s attempt to k1dnap Princess Anne, then 23, and Michael Fagan breaking into the Queen’s bedroom as she slept in 1982.

So, according to Morton, the Princess of Wales traveled to the Special Air Services in Hereford where she learned ‘basic techniques’ about how to handle a potential terr0rist attck or k1dnapping plot.

This included ‘thunderflashes’ and ‘smoke b0mbs’ being thrown at Diana’s car by ‘enemies’ to make training as realistic as possible.

‘On another occasion she went to Lippitts Hill in Loughton, Essex, where officers from the Metropolitan Police receive weapons training.

‘There she learned how to handle a .38 calibre Smith and Wesson revolver and a Hechler and Koch machine pistol,’ Morton said.

Both weapons were standard issue to members of the Royal Protection squad – an elite unit of the Metropolitan Police responsible for providing 24-hour security to the British royal family and other high-profile individuals.

Whilst Diana was never the target herself of a k1dnapping or an assass1n, the princess was constantly hounded by paparazzi – making her one of the most ph0tographed women in history – meaning her whereabouts were easy to track for a would-be attcker.

On top of this, the Royal Family were the target of multiple attcks in the 1980s and the 1990s.

In 1979, Lord Mountbatten – the uncle of Prince Philip and a mentor to the then Prince Charles – was assass1nated by the IRA after the terrorist group planted a b0mb on his boat off the west coast of Ireland.

Two hours before the b0mb detonated, Thomas McMahon had been arrested at a Garda checkpoint on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle.

He was tried for the assass1nati0ns in Ireland and convicted on November 23, 1979, based on forensic evidence that showed flecks of paint from the boat and traces of nitroglycerine on his clothes.

McMahon was released in 1998 under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement after serving nearly 20 years.

Two years later, in June 1981 Marcus Sarjeant fired six blank sh0ts at Queen Elizabeth during the Trooping the Colour.

Sarjeant, who was just 17 at the time of the incident, fired six blank sh0ts at the Queen.

He was later jailed for five years under the 1842 Treason Act.

The teenager was involved in the anti-Royalist movement and bought two imitation Colt Python revolvers for £66.90.

Both weapons were only capable of firing blanks, but Sarjeant had also tried and failed to get live ammunition for his father’s handg::n.

Prince Charles was then sh0t at with a start1ng pis0l in 1994 during a visit to Sydney.

The King, who was in the city to mark Australia Day, remained remarkably calm as 23-year-old David Kang, who is now a barrister, was bundled to the ground.

Meghan Markle, a self-proclaimed feminist, has reinvented her image as a homemaker and lifestyle influencer, according to royal experts.

As a member of the Royal Family, Meghan vowed to continue her work for women’s advocacy even when she stepped down from official royal duties with Prince Harry.

But since the launch of her eight-part Netflix series and lifestyle brand, As Ever, Meghan has appeared to turn her public persona to jam and flower sprinkles.

These claims were made as part of Channel 5‘s Meghan: Duchess For Sale? which aired on July 6 and explored the Duchess’s money-making ventures.

Jack Royston, Newsweek’s royal correspondent, said: ‘That was her big rebrand.

‘All of a sudden, she went from being the feminist who got angry that women were depicted as only being in the kitchen and then she reinvented herself as the traditional, at-home, in-the-kitchen cooking and hosting kind of image.’

Nick Ede, a brand culture expert, said: ‘With Love, Meghan, is Meghan being the new Martha Stewart.

‘She loves home, she loves entertaining and she wants to show people how to elevate everyday situations by offering them lifestyle advice, showing them how to cook different meals and interviewing people that she finds interesting along the way.’

Who is Martha Stewart?

While Martha Stewart may not be a familiar face to some Brits, she is a household name in the US.

According to PBS, Martha Stewart is America’s most trusted lifestyle expert and teacher.

Like Meghan, Stewart wears many hats and is a businesswoman running a catering company, a writer and a television personality.

She is the founder of Martha Stewart Living, focusing on home and hospitality.

In 2004-2006 Stewart served a five-month prison sentence and two years of supervised release related to a stock trading case.

Before marrying Harry, Meghan gave a speech to UN Women encouraging women to become leaders.

Meghan spoke about her accidental road to becoming an advocate at a star-studded celebration in March 2015 for the 20th anniversary of the Beijing women’s conference that adopted a roadmap to achieve equality for women, which is the framework for UN Women’s activities.

Her opening words drew loud applause and cheers: ‘I am proud to be a woman and a feminist.’

But ten years later, Meghan’s Netflix series focuses on ‘tips and tricks’ to be a better homemaker and host.

The show received more than 2.6million views in its first week and formed part of her reported $100million, five-year deal with Netflix.

Through Meghan’s brand As Ever, which was briefly known as American Riviera Orchard and her Netflix series, it is clear that Meghan is still toeing the line between being a royal and being an influencer.

The similarity in styling between Meghan’s As Ever products and King Charles’ Highgrove and Sandringham brands stunned some royal observers.

While Charles’ brands send their proceeds to charity, Meghan’s products feature a high price point and are not affiliated with a charity.

Most recently, the Daily Mail exclusively revealed that the jam is manufactured by The Republic of Tea.

The company, which also makes her honey and tea bags, is headquartered in Larkspur, California, 350 miles away from Meghan’s Montecito mansion.

However its factory is 2,000 miles away in Illinois.

Meghan has also been accused of using the Sussex name to make money and promote her brand.

In With Love, Meghan the Duchess corrected Mindy Kaling with her title – a clip which was shared and chastised on social media.

‘It’s so funny you keep saying Meghan Markle, you know I’m Sussex now,’ she awkwardly responded.

When Mindy appeared confused, Meghan continued: ‘You have kids, and you go, “No, I share my name with my children.” I didn’t realise how meaningful it would be, but it means so much to say, “This is our family name. Our little family name.”‘

After being corrected, Mindy replied: ‘Well, now I know and I love it.’

Meghan also sent a gift basket to podcast host Jamie Kern Lima, which included a note referencing her royal title, HRH The Duchess of Sussex.

This went directly against an agreement made with the late Queen after Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior working royals.

Harry and Meghan previously agreed not to use their HRH titles for commercial purposes following their exit from the British Royal Family in 2020.

The gift basket was sent to Meghan’s friend, CEO of IT Cosmetics Jamie, when she had in-laws staying and the Duchess wanted to help.

Halfway through the chat the host revealed Meghan sent her a gift box of food and the thank you card around a year ago.

The basket also includes two jars of Straus ice cream, some flowers, mint, and the note with Meghan’s royal title embellished on it.

Royal fans have reacted furiously to the name on the card with one writing on X: ‘I thought they couldn’t use HRH?’

Jamie said the basket was sent to her home by Meghan ‘about a year ago… to see if that helps lighten my load’.

It was reported that Meghan still calls herself Her Royal Highness to friends but has denied she is flouting a warning by the late Queen.

MailOnline spoke with a royal expert who claimed that while Meghan called herself a feminist, it is Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, who has stepped up and dedicated her work to feminist causes.

Richard Fitzwilliams said: ‘Meghan is struggling to be an influencer, Sophie has influence in ways that really matter, which Meghan could have been.

‘Meghan has always boasted about how she promotes feminism.

But despite the negativity Meghan has faced for her lifestyle content, this is not the first time she has made money through this style of content.

Meghan began writing her blog, The Tig, in 2014, during a time when sites such as BuzzFeed and Zooey Deschanel’s HelloGiggles were extremely popular.

Online archives show Meghan posted articles relating to beauty, travel, recipes, workouts and interviews with celebrities.

Between The Tig and her role as Rachel Zane in Suits, Meghan had built a fortune.

Nick Ede said in the Channel 5 documentary: ‘The Tig was very similar to Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Goop and it felt that it was authentically Meghan.

‘She actually saw that you could monetise it. You could look at how you could do affiliate links.’

It’s nothing new for bloggers to turn their page into their own personal brand.

It seemed almost inevitable that Meghan would follow the likes of Ree Drummond and Martha Stewart who turned their brand to homeware, TV shows and book deals.

However, according to bestselling author Tom Bower, the content on The Tig did not always accurately reflect Meghan’s personal life or, at times, even her values.

In his book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry And The War Between The Windsors, he writes: ‘As a purely commercial venture she understood her market and how to compartmentalise between her real life and the fantasy life she offered her increasing number of followers.

‘Conjuring fantasies was her unique selling point.’

Likewise, Meghan has faced criticism for portraying an unrealistic lifestyle in her new show, where she wears glamorous, often white outfits while carrying out simple kitchen tasks.

According to Bower, it took Meghan a year to ‘successfully’ become an influencer with The Tig.

As part of her strategy to capitalise on her celebrity status, the former actress closely studied Hollywood’s elite to ‘absorb and copy’ their success.

And it seems that she may have taken a similar approach with her Netflix series, since viewers drew several comparisons between the show and former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson’s series, Pamela’s Cooking With Love.

When Meghan began dating Harry, The Tig stopped producing content and eventually ceased to exist.

It is likely that even if Meghan had not become a member of the Royal Family, she would still be making lifestyle content.

But perhaps the difference now is that Meghan had the opportunity to use her platform for good instead of simply fame and notoriety.

She split from her husband David Harbour late last year, and since then the Lily Allen has made sure to show her ex what he is missing.

The singer underwent an ‘incredible’ b00b j0b in February in the wake of the split and taking to Instagram once again on Friday the star made sure to show off her new assets.

Putting on a very r@cy display in red lace balcony bra, Lily stared straight at the camera as she paired the lingerie with a stylish floral jacket.

She captioned the snap: ‘Sorry not sorry’ as pals including Charli XCX rushed to like the post.

In March Lily admitted she had been buying lingerie to show off the cosmetic procedure, but admitted that the time she felt her new cleavage doesn’t match her face.

She told her close friend Miquita Oliver on their Miss Me? podcast: ‘How do I feel about ageing? Well, I just got some additions to the family – don’t know if you’d noticed?’

Miquita told her: ‘I noticed because you pulled your top off a month ago and showed them to me. I was like ”absolutely incredible”.’

Lily, who shared insight into her b00b j0b ahead of her 40th birthday, continued: ‘They look really incredible when I take my top off, and my bra off, but there’s definitely a contrast in age between my breasts and my face.

‘I’m like 40, 18, 40, 18. I’m just thinking ‘maybe I get the BBL (Brazilian butt lift) next’. I quite want the bum.’

Lily added on her new boobs: ‘There’s a thing that happens a few months after you get them which is they drop and fluff.

‘So they’re still quite high and they’re still quite hard. When they drop and fluff they feel like normal boobs.

‘So I haven’t got to drop and fluff yet, I’m very much looking forward to that.

‘I feel like it’s really fun. I’m like buying fancy lingerie that my boobs can actually fit in and taking pictures on my phone.

‘Haven’t sent them to anyone yet, but it will hopefully get there at some point. On my 40th birthday I’m going to drop and fluff.’

It comes after Lily suggested that Oasis play on their famous feud to bolster the intrigue into their huge reunion tour – as she revealed the band are the reason she got into music.

She discussed the 90s band’s comeback tour on the recent episode of her Miss Me? podcast with Miquita Oliver.

And during the episode, Lily speculated that Noel and Liam Gallagher use their years-long fight as a way of generating headlines.

‘I think the fight helps, do you know what I mean? The tension helps, the fall out,’ Miquita said, to which Lily replied: ‘They will be playing on that you know?’

Elsewhere Lily revealed that Oasis could be the reason she got into music after a teacher at boarding school heard her singing Wonderwall and asked her to start singing lessons.

It comes after Lily revealed in her autobiography that she and music sensation Liam joined the m1le high club together back in 2009.

Lily and Miquita spoke about the Oasis tour on Thursday’s episode of Miss Me?.

‘I don’t think anyone… there’s not like anticipation for a band like Oasis,’ Lily said. ‘I mean people were f***ing devastated when they said that they weren’t going to be together again.

‘Not even like Take That or the Spice Girls or… I mean they did have a reunion and it wasn’t as big a deal.’

Eamonn Holmes fans have flocked to his support after GB News had a huge presenter shake-up on Friday.

The presenter, 65, has become a familiar face on the channel’s morning breakfast show from 6am and has fronted the segment since January 2022.

Currently, Ellie Costello presents with Eamonn from Monday to Wednesday, while Anne Diamond and Stephen Dixon step in on Thursdays and Fridays.

But now there has been a merger as he shared a picture to Instagram to reveal that he will be hosting this weekend’s breakfast shows with Anne.

Alongside a photo of the pair of them sat at the presenting desk, Eamonn penned: ‘We never worked together on Breakfast Television… but we do now.

‘Eamonn & Anne starting the day on @gbnews tomorrow and Sunday 6 – 9.30 am. Hope u can join us on Telly or Radio.’

The switch up comes after his production firm racked up a huge six figure debt.

It is the latest blow for the broadcaster, who has suffered numerous health problems over the last few years and has gone through a divorce with Ruth Langsford.

His company is £22,850 in debt for 2024, according to Companies House, after a £18,000 surplus.

The accounts show Eamonn has creditors of nearly £150,000 to pay and had a £39,173 Corporation Tax rebate.

Some of the presenter’s assets have been taken in account, which brings the total debt to £22,850.

Last month, Eamonn removed his wedding ring, over a year since his spilt from Ruth.

The TV couple shocked fans with their joint statement on May 25 2024 confirming the end of their 14 year marriage.

And while Eamonn has embarked on a new relationship with new girlfriend Katie Alexander, he had continued to wear his gold band on his wedding finger.

The candid post saw the mother-of-two open up about living through almost unbearable pain which left her ‘vomiting, curled up in bed and missing out on life’.

A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure which removes a woman’s womb and may also involve the removal of other organs, such as the ovaries.

Katie’s caption read: ‘I’m 35 and I’ve just had a hysterectomy.

‘I’ve lived with pcos, endometriosis and adenomyosis since Moses wore short pants And no, it wasn’t “just a bad period.”

‘It was constant hospital trips. Multiple laparoscopies. Bleeding through clothes. Vomiting from the pain. Being curled up in bed, missing out on life.

‘It was extreme bloating that made me look pregnant. It was migraines, stabbing pains in my legs, butt and stomach. It was chronic fatigue. It was hiding in loos, crying over another ruined day. It was my daughters terrified of getting their periods in case they end up like mummy.

‘Years of misdiagnosis & being fobbed off. Told to take painkillers. That it was “normal.” It wasn’t. I’ve cried on bathroom floors. I’ve bled through clothes in public. I’ve had 3 surgeries. I’ve tried every pill, every patch, every hormone tweak. I’ve been put on a medical menopause just to get through uni.

‘And still… the pain came.’

Katie – who tied the knot with DIY SOS presenter Nick just last month – also spoke about not being able to recognise herself due to the pain her diagnoses brought her.

Post-operation, the 35-year-old candidly admitted she feels ‘less like a woman’, but said she took the decision to undergo the surgery in order to ‘take her life back’.

Katie wrote: ‘It feels like something in me has changed, apart form being sans uterus. Right now, I’m in lots of pain. I’m bloated. I’m exhausted. I’m hot. I’m forgetful. I’m hot (see how that works on multiple levels.

Katie and Nick, 27 years her senior, exchanged vows last month during a lavish six-figure wedding at Braxted Park in Essex.

The couple were thought to have spared no expense on the ceremony, which was attended by a host of celebrity guests including Nick’s Strictly Come Dancing co-stars.

Nick cut a sharp figure on the big day in a pink blazer, while the new Mrs Knowles slipped in an eye-catching white and blue floral number.

The newly weds have however been the subject of cruel trolling during their relationship, with critics mocking their age difference and financial setup.

Katie, began dating her spouse in 2021, hit back at those dubbing her a ‘gold digger’, revealing they don’t get to her as much as they used to because she and Nick know it’s not true.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, she said of their age gap: ”I think at the start, it was probably more irritating, especially for my family. But now those comments kind of just pass over me because we both know it’s not true.

Katie stressed: ‘Nick works hard, he has what he has. I work hard, I have what I have and then we buy each other stuff.’
