Kyrie Irving might get a contract extension despite his injury-ridden season. In their recent game against the Sacramento Kings, Dallas failed to secure a victory. Going down 98-122, the Mavericks were greeted with more misfortune. Suffering from an ACL tear in his left knee, Irving was seen suffering significantly. This was not a good sign for the team at all. After the transfer of Luka Doncic to the Lakers, Irving was supposed to be the Mavericks’ only hope.
Unfortunately, that idea would be put to rest at the moment. This is because the ACL tear is expected to keep Irving out of the game for quite a long time. However, with the news of his injury, many opined that Irving’s days in Mavericks’ colors might be numbered. But that does not seem to be the case.
Prior to his injury, Irving was all set to sign a 5-year, $272 million contract. Thankfully, the offer is likely to remain the same. According to Mike Curtis of ‘The Dallas Morning News,’
“I think the goal is to keep Kyrie in Dallas as long as they can… And I think before the injury, he was definitely on track for a max extension and I think that’s still the case.”
Thus, it is evident that Kyrie Irving will get another chance to prove his mettle. Meanwhile, Irving himself broke silence on the subject, suffering a harrowing injury.

Irving brought bad news for the Mavericks’ fans. Displaying significant prowess on the court, the Mavericks’ star exhibited some of the dominant moments. However, despite his injury, Irving provided some impeccable free throws.
Commenting on his injury in a heartfelt manner, Irving stated,
“Thank you, GOD. I understand that my calling on earth is bigger than basketball, and it’s not just about me. This moment was for all of my brothers and sisters who also put GOD first. I know how powerfully unified we are through our unwavering faith. I am that I am, Hélà.”
Thus, it is quite evident that the Mavericks will have difficulty adjusting without Kyrie Irving this season. However, with him getting another chance, it remains to be seen what happens next
