Richard Bacon appeared on the BBC current affairs show on Thursday night
Former Blue Peter star Richard Bacon was debating US President Donald Trump with Republicans Overseas chairman Greg Swenson.
But as the lively conversation progressed on Thursday night, one viewer took to social media to brand Richard ‘manic’.
They wrote on X: “Something a bit manic and weird about Richard Bacon’s behaviour. #bbcqt.”
Dad-of-two Bacon showed he wasn’t bothered by the user’s comment and simply swiped back: “Always.”
However, other viewers jumped to Richard’s defence and flooded the troll with replies.
One said: “It’s called being energised and giving a s**t.”
While a second commented: “I don’t recognise that at all.. I think he’s the only person making sense on the panel.”
Richard’s first job was as a reporter for BBC Radio Nottingham before he joined Blue Peter in February 1997.
However, a year later Richard was forced to hand in his Blue Peter badge after admitting to taking cocaine and losing his job.
