A former contestant of The Chase has revealed what happens when a player challenges a wrong answer in the middle of filming.
The popular ITV quiz show is hosted by Bradley Walsh and sees contestants take part in a cash-builder round before facing a skilled Chaser – either Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan or Darragh Ennis.
If they make it past that round, they take on the Chaser again in a timed head-to-head with their fellow teammates to try and win a share of the prize pot.

One player opened up about their experience on the programme and shared how contestants were welcome to challenge answers ‘at any time’ during filming.
According to the Express, the anonymous participant said: ‘They didn’t stop in my episode, but it was made clear that there was an independent adjudicator.
‘And if you want to challenge an ‘incorrect’ answer you can do so at any time and they’ll look into it.’

The contestant also went on to reveal how each episode is recorded and described how the beginning ‘is filmed out of sequence, you do the whole ‘my name is…’ bit before Brad turns up’.
They added: ‘Rest of it pretty much runs as you see it, including breaks for advert.’
One episode last year left fans livid after a contestant gave a ‘correct’ answer but was ‘robbed’.
Max, 20, joined show host Bradley for a cash builder ahead of his turn battling the Chaser.
But when Max was faced with a question about LeBron James, viewers were left up in arms as his very specific answer was rejected by the host.
Bradley asked Max: ‘LeBron James is one of the so called playmakers for what console brand?’
Max eagerly answered ‘PS4’, which was rejected by Bradley.

While LeBron is a PS4 player, Bradley asked for the brand, not specific console.
So he disallowed the response because the answer he was looking for was ‘PlayStation’.
The ruling did not go down well with viewers, who believed he should have been allowed the answer and given an extra £1,000.
