He secretly murdered Nate Robinson, has drugged Chas Dingle and left her and Liam Cavanagh terrified they were being stalked by his ex Ella.

John even slipped nuts into Jacob Gallagher’s coffee to induce an allergic reaction just so he could save his life and be seen as a hero.

But after making a mistake with a patient earlier this month, John has come under scrutiny at the doctor’s surgery from boss Liam.

And because of this Liam has had to take a tough decision – and effectively demoting John.

With Ella gone, the surgery is lacking a receptionist, with Liam telling John: “Sadly funds are not going to stretch that far [for a replacement].

“Manpreet and I thought because you have been covering reception so brilliantly, we’d like you to bridge the gap. Temporarily.

“You’d be helping us out enormously. No drop in salary. I’m so sorry to even have to ask but until we secure funding, we’re in a bind.”

John was furious and insisted Liam was only doing this because of his past mistakes.

Later John was still stewing as he ranted to both Aaron and Victoria over the injustice of it all.

They both, separately, tried to calm him down but it was no use and it’s clear John has Liam in his sights.

However before he can put any plan into action, Victoria threw a spanner into the works by discovering that Aidan Moore is alive – not d3ad like John claimed.

She confronted him and warned him that if he didn’t come clean to Aaron, then she would.
