A BROKEN HEART: Coronation Street’s Abi Webster makes ‘Major Announcement’

One star is soon thought to be leaving Coronation Street after a huge twist on the ITV soap. There is set to be a major heartbreak on the cobbles with the pain of the fallout being too much to bear for one character.

It comes as Abi Webster, played by Sally Carman, continues to lie to her husband, Kevin, played by Michael Le Vell as she is sneaking around with his brother, Carl, played by Jonathan Howard. In upcoming scenes, she sneakily makes out to Kevin that she’s got a stomach bug and would have to give a wedding a miss, leaving him to attend the night on his own. Instead, she is busy making her own plans as she has decided to meet up with Carl in his hotel bedroom. But while there, she admits that the guilt of the sordid affair is eating away at her, and she feels terrible for lying to Kevin.

Helping her to forget about her worries momentarily, Carl pulls her into a passionate embrace. But then, later back at home, Kevin comes back from the wedding to find Abi dressed up to the nines – very far from the sickly picture that she had painted to him earlier.

She once again lies her way out of the situation, and despite the close call she still makes choices that will break Kevin’s heart. Later in the evening, Abi sneaks out to the ginnel to find Carl waiting for her.

When Carl reiterates that he meant everything he said and he wants to be with her, Abi can’t help but grin.

Will Abi leave Kevin brokenhearted, and will Kevin leave Weatherfield when he works out the truth?

However, fans at home seem to think that the dramatic storyline could have a very different ending. Posting to Twitter they shared their theories.

One guessed: “Let’s guess Abi is going to get pregnant with Carls baby isn’t she #Corrie.” Another echoed: “Abi is going to be pregnant isn’t she?”

Meanwhile, a third commented: “OMG just had a thought. Abi falling pregnant with Carl’s child. This is Corrie, I can’t put it pass the writers to do it. #corrie.” And one more said: “Abi better not get pregnant off Carl now I swear to god #Corrie.”
