Princess Catherine of Wales has penned an emotional message to the world on her official social channels to celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8).

The Princess of Wales wrote: “Today we celebrate the kindness, resilience and quiet strength of women in our families and communities.

“This day is about standing up alongside one another – recognising the loving influence of women, who nurture hope, encourage others and help make the world kinder and more compassionate. C. #InternationalWomensDay.”

The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood was founded in June 2021 by Catherine, Princess of Wales, to highlight the critical importance of the first five years of life.

Based in the UK, it focuses on research, collaboration, and campaigning to create a healthier, more nurturing society for future generations.

The Centre focuses on three key areas of activity: Research: supporting, delivering and showcasing high-quality research to shape activity and increase knowledge and to promote best practice.

Collaboration: working with people from across the private, public and voluntary sectors and all walks of life to make positive change.

Also, creating change: developing creative campaigns to raise awareness and inspire action to why early childhood matters and what we can do to make lasting change.

Today we celebrate the kindness, resilience and quiet strength of women in our families and communities.

In 2025, the Princess of Wales has marked International Woman’s Day with a poignant tribute to photographer Liz Hatton who had tragically died from an incurable and rare form of cancer.

She wrote: “Celebrating the strength, resilience and creativity of Liz and her mother Vicky, it was an honour meeting them both at Windsor in November”

“Liz’s memory lives on in Vicky’s unwavering resilience. Thank you for such a moving moment.”

The photograph of the pair embracing touched the hearts of many with Kate hailing the teenager for inspiring her and husband William with her strength and creativity.

The event also marked the Princess of Wales’ return to work after she had gone through her own cancer battle.
