Whilst she continued to make a few one-off appearances afterwards as part of The Six storyline, Lorraine is now firmly away from Walford and in a brand new production.
The TV star has bagged the part of Janet in the new hotly-anticipated LGBTQ+ movie, Departures.
The movie tells the story of a toxic relationship between two men – Benji and Jake – with the role of Jake played by former Hollyoaks hunk, David Tag.
Another famous face who has bagged a part in the film is former Corrie actress Kimberley Hart-Simpson, best known for playing s3x worker, Nicky Wheatley.
Lorraine has taken on the part of Janet in the flick which comes complete with countless raunchy scenes.
Viewers of the movie will see the characters of Benji and Jake get down and dirty in a slew of eye-popping s3x scenes.
The movie has even signed up p0rn stars to appear in order to make it incredibly spicy.
Chatting about the movie and her character ahead of its premiere later this month, Lorraine told Digital Spy: “Janet is Benji’s mum and she doesn’t mince her words! She’s very, very old-school.
“She would probably have preferred her son to be straight. She’s bold and honest with her words and choice of language – that’s probably putting it mildly.
“But she’s a lovely person. She wears her heart on her sleeve and ultimately she’s there for her son through his break-up.”
I’ll never return to EastEnders after brutal axe – even though auditioning for new jobs is soul-destroying, says Lorraine Stanley
“It’s a story of love and loss. It’s the yin and yang.
“It’s so heavy in places but then there are moments of comedy throughout it. That’s what I want to watch and I like being involved with projects like that.”
The movie deals heavily with Jake and Benji’s toxic romance with Janet having to tell her son to ditch him during the movie.
Lorraine confessed: “Janet is quite cut-throat about it. She says: ‘Just leave him. He’s a p****. Just move on with your life’.
“She probably speaks a lot of truth!
“But we’ve all been there – when you’re in love, you don’t want to hear that, do you? You just want to be with that person. It doesn’t matter what your mum or anyone else says.”

Although Lorraine won’t be featured in any of the more racier scenes, leading actors David and co-star Lloyd Eyre-Morgan didn’t hold back when it came to the bedroom antics.
Speaking about filming the initmate moments, Lloyd confessed to Att!tude magazine: “We had the amazing intimacy coordinator Aimee Cross, who made everything feel super chill.
“Plus, David and I have worked together before, so it took a lot of the edge off.
“There’s a fair bit of nud!ty and s3x in the film and everyone felt at ease, it was a good atmosphere on set.”
David then chimed in to joke: “Yeah, and honestly, after a while, running around in a c*** sock just feels like breaking in a new pair of underpants… except way breezier.”

The toxic relationship plays out on screens
Lloyd and David filmed for the flick in Amsterdam and enjoyed a wild 24 hours in which they remained in character and were joined by the film’s cameras to capture it all.
Lloyd said: “We had an insane 24 hours in Amsterdam – pure whirlwind energy.
“David and I stayed in character most of the time, filming as we threw ourselves into the city’s wild side.
“Gay clubs, fetish clubs, you name it, we went for it! The Amsterdam gay scene is electric, unapologetic, and ridiculously friendly.
“It was wild, s3xy, and, honestly, one of the most unforgettable nights ever. And we captured it all on camera. MOST of it ended up in the film!”
