‘I’m okay with that’, Patrick Mahomes sends clear message after Kansas City Chiefs become ‘villains’ of the NFL
The Chiefs have given an important update on Mahomes’ troublesome ankle injury
PATRICK MAHOMES is all too happy for the Kansas City Chiefs to be viewed as the “villains” of the NFL.
Some American football fans have grown tired of the Chiefs’ dominance in recent years.

Head coach Andy Reid has guided the franchise to THREE Super Bowl wins in the last five seasons.
Reid and his charges became the first team since the New York Patriots to win back-to-back Super Bowl titles last February with a 25-22 win over the San Francisco 49ers.
NFL fans expressed their apparent annoyance at the Chiefs being in back-to-back finals on social media and in person during Super Bowl Opening Night at Allegiant Stadium.
But star quarterback Mahomes could care less about their frustrations, saying last February: “I think I just like winning.
“If you win a lot and that causes you to be a villain, then I’m OK with it.
“But at the end of the day, I’m going to enjoy playing the game and try to win as much as possible.”
Mahomes’ mentality is also shared by defensive tackle Chris Jones, who said: “Everybody used to love us.
“We used to be one of the most favorite teams. Now everybody’s ready for the Chiefs to lose.
“It’s OK. They can continue hating. You call it hate when you win a whole lot.
“The problem is we haven’t won as much as people think.
“We’ve won only two [Super Bowls], right? We only won two out of three.”
The Chiefs’ bid to become the first team to win three Super Bowls in a row gets underway on Saturday afternoon.
The AFC West winners – who lost only two games in the regular season – will host the Houston Texans at Arrowfield Stadium in their Divisional Round clash.
Patrick Mahomes’ endorsements
Patrick Mahomes earns over $50 million per season from his Kansas City Chiefs contract.
But the superstar quarterback also cashes in on his brand off the field.
Mahomes has a reported net worth of $70 million.
And that’s in no small part down to some of the brand he endorses.
The Chiefs star is the face of Adidas in the United States and appears in State Farm commercials.
He also pops up on adverts for Subway and Head and Shoulders.
Mahomes also became the face of energy drink Prime, which is owned by Logan Paul and KSI.
Mahomes has rested up for three weeks after injury his ankle, sitting out the final regular season match against the Denver Broncos.
The 28-year-old is not included on the injury report ahead of the Divisional matchup.
Chiefs star Isiah Pacheco, Chris Jones, Trent McDuffie, Chamarri Conner, Nikko Remigio and DJ Humphries have all been cleared to play.
