Earlier in December, we revealed that Dame Maureen, 78, was set to leave the soap as a full-time cast member.
She told The Sun: “I’ll be absent for a while, and then coming back.
“I’m not going to d.i.e but then I’ll be in and out of it because I want to have a bit of a life.”
After it was reported that she will be involved in a major new storyline, her exit terms have now been revealed on ITV screens.
Earlier this week on Coronation Street we saw Evelyn become overwhelmed with the admin around her new law course.
She enrolled at Manchester University after feeling tired with her life and Roy (Neilson) suggested she take up the vocation.
This was after Steve (Simon Gregson) agreed to pay Evelyn the £325 that she insisted he owed her and Alya (Sair Khan) invited her to a lecture.
However, whilst she was trying to work her way around the timetable for the first semester, she kept on getting distracted by Hope (Isabella Flanagan).
So much so, Evelyn was forced to make a drastic decision about her living arrangements.
She then decided to sit her grandson Tyrone (Alan Halsall) down in the living room in number nine.

Evelyn told him that she has made an appointment with a view to moving into the university halls of residence.
She admitted her decision to move out of the house came because she struggled to concentrate on the course, and studying law is no easy feat.
Tyrone was left utterly flabbergasted as he suggested that moving in with students would not be a good move for her.
He expects that some might be “high on drugs” and anticipates lots of late night parties and music blaring at all hours.
However, Evelyn assured her grandson that “it hasn’t exactly been the Waltons’ living here.”
This was before they shared an emotional moment as he said that he would miss her living under his roof, which in return left her teary eyed.
