THE BBC’s new crime drama This City Is Ours airs a racy phone s3x scene within the first five minutes of its first episode.

The new BBC drama centres around the story of Michael (James Nelson-Joyce), a man who for all of his adult life has been involved in organised crime but for the first time, Michael is in love.

Now he fears he has something to lose – his partner Diana, played by Hannah Onslow.

This City is Ours tells the story of the pairs love affair, set against the disintegration of Michael’s crime gang.

For years, together with his friend Ronnie (Sean Bean), Michael has successfully been bringing cocaine into the City and beyond, directly from Columbia.

But when a shipment goes missing, he knows their Kingdom is under attack.

In tonight’s episode, Michael was seen sitting in a family planning clinic as advertising screens displayed messages about infertility.

Michael was then taken into a private room and told to provide a sample in a jar and then to leave it in a hatch along with his signed forms.

Once he was alone, Michael phoned his partner Diana and asked her to guess where he was.

“I’m hoping you are at the clinic” she replied.

After agreeing, he then told her that everything was white and that every surface had been wiped clean in the room.

He added that there was porn available and quipped: “That being said, I thought you might give me some assistance?

“Some words of encouragement, seeing as we are in this together”

Diana who appeared to be in a restaurant, asked him to wait a minute until she found an empty room.

She then replied: “In that case, seeing as we are in this together, what if I joined you – so to speak?”

“Are you serious?” Michael replied.

Diana then went on to seductively explain what she was doing to her body – as Michael clearly got excited.

And Diana exclaimed: “How have we never done this before?”

The scene ended with Michael depositing his sample jar into the hatch and leaving the room.

Speaking of her role as Diana, Hannah said: “Her and Michael’s relationship is very strong, they really do love each other so much.

“They are both at a big turning point in their life and want to start a family together.

“I don’t think Diana knew she could ever feel this way about someone, and I think the same goes for Michael.

“Their relationship is really special, beautifully written and it has been a complete joy to do it with James.”

The synopsis for This City Is Ours explains that the drama explores what happens when Ronnie’s son Jamie (Jack McMullen) decides he wants to inherit their kingdom and that there is no longer a place for Michael at the table.

Both Michael and Jamie have bold ideas to modernise the gang and they will battle for control of it.

But Michael’s biggest battle will be to save Diana and the child he has always wanted.

The drama promises to be a story about family and love destroyed and corrupted by ambition, pride and greed.

And about power and what we will do to secure and keep it.

The City is Ours airs on BBC One and all episodes are available on BBC iPlayer.
