Natalie Cassidy Breaks Silence on Viral Fake Cancer Story, Calling It “Absolutely Disgusting and a Disgrace to Everyone Fighting Real Health Battles”
EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has been left disgusted by a “disgraceful” fake news story that claimed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The actress, 42, recently left the BBC One soap – and it’s fair to say she has remained booked and busy. In April, she fronted the new Channel 4 consumer series, What’s The Big Deal?
However, this week Natalie headed over to her social media to alert her fans over a sick hoax that involved her.

EastEnders’ Natalie Cassidy slams ‘sick’ fake cancer story
On Thursday (June 19) Natalie took to her Instagram Story and uploaded a screenshot of a post on Facebook.
Alongside two photos of Natalie in character on EastEnders, the caption read: “Natalie Cassidy Breaks Down as She Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis: “I Didn’t Want Anyone to Know…” ….. See Details in Comment.”
Fuming over the sickening claims, Natalie wrote: “THIS IS DISGUSTING AND DISGRACEFUL.
“So many people are going through this and I have had messages asking if I’m ok. It is completely made up and a terrible story. Take this down whoever you are.”

Natalie on why she quit
Earlier this year, Natalie announced she was stepping down from her role as Sonia Fowler in EastEnders.
Talking to Bella Magazine in March, Natalie revealed that she was “ready for a change, after 32 years”.
She said: “I adore EastEnders but you can’t do everything. EastEnders is a factory with 60 cast members and 300 staff.
“They can’t cater for someone who says ‘By the way, I need two months off to do this, I need another three months off to do this’. It’s not fair.”
Natalie’s life after EastEnders
Following her EastEnders exit, Natalie has not slowed down one bit. In April, she announced her brand new podcast.
Life With Nat is a chatty podcast, with Natalie stating she wants to ‘pick people’s brains’ on subjects she cares about.
Natalie also has a podcast that she co-presents with Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page.
Since February 2024, the pair have discussed various television shows and behind-the-scenes goss.
