Emmerdale’s Leyla Harding will reportedly be killed off in looming scenes on the ITV soap, and now a deadly flashforward has left fans convinced they know how she dies

There’s rumoured to be a tragic death looming on Emmerdale, and now a gruesome flashforward may have revealed how it happens.
Amid reports of a tragic accident being on the cards, following claims Leyla Harding would be killed off on the ITV soap, a new preview his appeared to hint at what’s ahead. Reporters emerged just days ago that an icy accident could be on the cards for three villagers, one of them being Leyla.
It led to speculation that this would be her exit storyline, with the character apparently being killed off after more than a decade onscreen. Now, a new flashforward teaser has revealed an ice-related incident does happen, leaving at least one character in grave danger.
Now, fans are convinced this is confirmation that the rumoured accident will happen and that the person trapped under the ice could be Leyla. There is no confirmation from the teaser of who is the person under the ice, with them shown bashing it with their hand to try and free themselves.
The person is trapped underneath and unable to get out, while it’s not yet confirmed how they end up underneath it or whether they survive. What’s weird is that the camera pans to Dawn Taylor and Joe Tate just before the flashforward airs, suggesting they are involved.
But could this be a red herring? Fans think so given the earlier reports of Leyla’s exit storyline, and now the teaser showing something very similar is planned.

Viewers believe this is the confirmation they need that Leyla will tragically die in an accident tied in with an icy lake, and that the flashforward is teasing her demise. Taking to X, one fan posted: “The iced-lake stunt is TRUE This is rumoured to be Leyla’s exit storyline.”
Another fan posted: “I think it’s maybe Leyla who cops it in that Ice stunt.” Another fan theorised: “It’s Leyla,” as a fourth commented: “Leyla the one in the ice?” The theories kept on coming with another reading: “The hand at the end I think is Leyla.”
A further theory agreed: “The person fighting to break through the ice is a bit grim. Assume that’s Leyla.” It comes after Monday’s episode saw Leyla breaking down in tears, as she told her son Jacob Gallagher how proud she was of him.
Given she’s tipped to die soon some fans feared this might be their final scene together, as others said it was a huge hint she was being killed off. A viewer said: “Leyla’s soppy speech indicates her death doesn’t it. Not at all predictable.”
Another comment read: “Watching this Leyla and Jacob scene knowing Leyla is going to die… Emmerdale are sick and twisted i’m soooo upset about this one.” Another viewer said: “Leyla & Jacob having their final scene together?”
