Strictly’s Vito Coppola reveals Ellie Goldstein get ‘special gift’ behind the scenes only for her

Vito Coppola has revealed that Ellie Goldstein received a ‘special gift’ behind the scenes which left their Strictly Come Dancing co-stars wanting in on the action.

The pair are competing in the BBC One dance contest, which got underway last month, together and are already impressing on the dance floor.

Ellie, the first person with Down’s syndrome to compete in the main series, and Vito returned to the ballroom on Saturday night (October 18) after making it through to week four of the competition.

They closed the show with their couple’s choice routine, which was a celebrtation of the model and actress, to Golden by HUNTR/X from the Netflix hit film K Pop Demon Hunters.

Following the performance, which scored 31 out of a possible 40 points, judge Motsi Mabuse said: “Ellie, I’m really honestly so happy for you. You had this moment on Strictly because it was strong, it was powerful and I know so many young girls are there watching you.

“They’re going to want to be on stage like you. This was your go-home moment, I’ve never seen you dance stronger. Honestly guys, that really touched me.”

Ahed of their latest performance, Vito revealed how she was “spoiled” by the wardrobe department on the long-running Saturday night show, who created special trainers for her. Speaking to the Express, the Italian dancer shared: “You are the only contestant wardrobe spoiled.

“Because as Ellie arrived, in her own trainers, they made covered them in stones (diamantes). All the others people are saying, ‘Oh my God, I want the same trainers as Ellie’, and they said, ‘No, that’s only for you!’”

He added: “They did it because they love you,” to which 23-year-old Ellie quipped: “It’s not my fault.”

Ellie also spoke about the dances she has found most challenging to date, which were the Waltz and their Cha Cha Cha, which she described as “cheeky”.

Vito explained: “I think because they are so contrasting it was two weeks in a row and we had to do two completely different style and not having any ballroom or Latin experience it’s quite (a change).”
