Zara McDermott has taken drastic action following her split from boyfriend of five years, Sam Thompson.

The Love Island star is said to be mending her broken heart with a member of One Direction and has proved she’s moved on from Made In Chelsea’s Sam with her latest decision. Last month, Zara took some time out to focus on herself as she jetted off on a month-long trip to Thailand. It came after news of Zara’s split from Sam emerged at the very beginning of this year, after the duo spent Christmas apart despite living with each other.

The pair have remained mostly silent following their sudden split, yet have made a series of subtle digs at the breakdown of their romance. However, it seems Zara is more than content with her decision to move on from Sam as she has made the huge move to purchase her own property.

She had lived with Sam in a stunning Chelsea townhouse, next door to his sister Louise Thompson. The former couple shared many updates as they created their dream home with their two cats. Yet, Zara has bid the property goodbye in favour of her very own two-bedroom flat.

In a surprising move, she has decided to stay close to Sam as her new home is not too far from his. Zara is said to have splashed out a cool £500,000 to have her own space as a source told the Sun: “She bought it two weeks ago under her company name, it’s a two bed flat in a nice area and weirdly, not that far from where she lived with Sam. It will make it really awkward when they cross paths at the local pub or in a coffee shop, though.”

It’s not just her living situation that has changed as Zara is reportedly eyeing up a new love interest. Attention has turned to a potential romance with Louis Tomlinson, as fans have spotted some telling clues. Eagle-eyed followers noticed that One Direction’s Louis, as well as his sisters Lottie, Daisy and Phoebe, all follow Zara on Instagram.

This, along with the fact that Zara follows all of Louis’ sisters, sparked the speculation. One fan took to Reddit to highlight the connection, writing: “I’ve read a lot of rumours that Louis is in a relationship with Zara McDermott. They recently started to follow each other on instagram. She follows all of his sisters, and they follow her back.

Others claimed that Zara’s connection to the Tomlinsons may be related to her documentary work, as it has been reported the family is planning to create their own show.
