Labour’s David Lammy was questioned about the ongoing 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯 conflict when he appeared on today’s (Friday, March 6) instalment of Good Morning Britain, which was hosted by Kate Garraway and Ranvir Singh. However, just minutes into the interview, ITV viewers flocked to X to comment on how “painful” the segment was to watch.
Taking to the social media platform during the 10-minute interview, one person shared: “Lammy is a painful watch! #GMB” Another echoed with snoring emojis: “Can someone please pop another coin in David Lammy.” Another, who felt the minister was speaking without much enthusiasm as he issued reassurances to viewers, added: “Lammy sounds like his batteries need replacing #gmb.” Meanwhile, a fourth penned: “A reassurance from David Lammy is about as comforting as a seatbelt made of wet spaghetti.”

Despite the backlash, others took aim at the hosts’ line of questioning, with someone writing: “Seriously, this is the best interview you could do? At least @ranvir01 tried to challenge about honesty re cost of living, but the rest was weak.”
The comments come after the two ITV hosts said the Metropolitan Police have arrested four men on suspicion of aiding 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯 intelligence service.
One Iranian and three dual British-Iranian nationals have been arrested, and the investigation links to the suspected surveillance of individuals and locations connected to Jewish communities in London.
When Garraway asked the Deputy Prime Minister if the nation should be concerned about Iranian spies, he replied: “I think your viewers will recognise that 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯 is the biggest state sponsor of terrorism globally. And sadly, that is an effect in our own society as well, and our intelligence services and county terrorism services have thwarted a lot of action over the last few years.
“This is now a live investigation, so I won’t comment on that any further except to thank our security staff and police for keeping our people safe and continuing to do everything they can.”
Commander Helen Flanagan, head of Counter Terrorism Policing London, said in a statement: “We understand the public may be concerned, in particular the Jewish community, and as always, I would ask them to remain vigilant and if they see or hear anything that concerns them, then to contact us.”
