Coleen Nolan made a return to Loose Women on Tuesday (November 25) following a two-week break and shared a baby update

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan made a welcome return to the ITV show following a break as she opened up on a “frantic” baby drama.

During Tuesday’s (November 25) episode of the hit daytime show, Coleen was back on the panel alongside co-stars Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter and Mariella Frostrup.

However just moments before they delved into the day’s trending topics, Coleen shared a rare family update as she spoke about becoming a grandmother again after her daughter Ciara gave birth to baby boy Sidney Ray just days before her son’s partner gave birth to a son.

But the star admitted that she was left feeling “frantic” after receiving a heartbreaking text that baby Sidney had trouble breathing when he was born, before confirming that he’s doing just fine now.  Ruth started off by saying: “A big welcome back to Coleen or should I say nanny Coleen.”

Coleen joked: “Honestly, I’ve come back to work for a rest. I’ve had two of them (grandchildren) in two weeks. Sidney Ray, that is Ciara’s little boy, we had him first and he was 9lb10.”

She continued: “It was all lovely and initially I was going to be there. Ciara has a C-Section because he was so big.”

The TV star then opened up on a terrifying moment as she explained: “She (Ciara) phoned me and she said, we are going down now and I was like ‘ok, ok’ and I said to Max (Ciara partner) ‘don’t forget to text.

“And then I got a text in less than an hour saying ‘Sidney is here, he’s 9lbs10 but he is just having a bit of trouble breathing’”

Everyone gasped as she continued: “I didn’t hear anything for like half an hour so I’m frantic at home and I didn’t want to bother them.

“But then she told me that he was absolutely fine. He just needed help breathing, so it all went from being ahh to ooh.”

Coleen revealed: “I couldn’t be there but anyway he is absolutely fine. He spent a couple days on the ward  but it is quite common with big babies.

“Ciara and Max stayed with him the whole week and the staff, can I just give a big shoutout to the staff because they were incredible.”

The host sat back as she admitted: “I was there the first week driving in and out and it’s half hour from my house so by the end of the week I was like that.”

Ciara’s baby is Coleen’s third grandchild, as she is already a grandmother to her son, Shane Jr’s daughter, Amelia, who was born in 2016, and to her younger son, Jake’s baby boy, who was born last year. Shane Jr’s partner gave birth to Cruz-Carter shortley after Sidney was born.
