The UK’s decision to withdraw security from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has left the Duchess of Sussex scared about coming to the UK. Last month, Prince Harry lost his appeal in the High Court over the decision to remove his security after stepping back from royal duties, something that has left his wife fearing for the safety of their family in Britain, it has been claimed.
Former royal editor Duncan Larcombe said: “Meghan understandably feels scared about coming to the UK with the children. The threats are real and genuine. The threat is from lunatics, radical protesters that might want to make a name for themselves by jumping in front of them. Then of course you have the worst type, the terrorist threat. And there’s no doubt Harry – and his family, as a result – is a huge target.”
A source has told the Mirror that despite, Meghan appearing confident in podcast interviews and on social media, fears remain over the safety of their children in the UK.
They said: “In some ways she’s feeling stronger and she wants to share that but she’s still terrified of putting her kids at risk by coming back to the UK – any parent would panic if they were in Meghan’s shoes. So even though Harry is really feeling the absence of his dad, especially after Trooping the Colour and Father’s Day, the security stuff will probably always be an issue.

The late Prince Philip was reportedly “disappointed” with Meghan Markle for not choosing to give up her own career to solely focus on supporting Prince Harry. The royal – who died in 2021 aged 99 – was married to the late Queen Elizabeth II since 1947.
Philip and Elizabeth, whom he affectionately called Lilibet, were both great-great-grandchildren of Queen Victoria. After marrying his wife, Philip decided to give up a few areas of life that he knew, including his birth citizenship, his naval career, and even his surname.

Speaking to Sky News in 2020, royal expert Ingrid Seward said: “I think he’s very, very disappointed because I think he feels he gave up his naval career in order to stand by the Queen and help the monarchy.
Prior to meeting Harry in 2016, Meghan had forged a successful career as an actress. Her most well-known role is her portrayal of Rachel Zane in the US drama Suits.
According to Ingrid, when Meghan and Harry decided to step down from royal duties, the late Queen held a summit in Sandringham to discuss the issue at hand.
