Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders revealed some interesting NFL Draft Day plans regarding two-way star and his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Both Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are expected to be top-five picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Shedeur is the odds-on favorite at most sportsbooks to go first overall, and Hunter already feels like a safe bet to be the first non-quarterback taken.
Despite that, “Coach Prime” made a surprise announcement during a recent interview on “The Rich Eisen Show.” According to Sanders, his two superstar players will skip the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay because they want to celebrate it in-person together.
“We good man,” Sanders said. “We want to celebrate with our people, with our folks, with our wonderful student body.
This honestly isn’t as big a deal as some will make it out to be. Minnesota Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy and Las Vegas Raiders star tight end Brock Bowers headlined the list of big-named prospects who didn’t attend last year’s NFL Draft in person.
And of course, things could always change between now and the 2025 NFL Draft that runs from Apr. 24-26 at Lambeau Field. Sanders and Hunter may end up deciding that they want to be there in person to greet the commissioner on stage and receive their jerseys and hats right away.
New Front-Runners Emerge To Land Shedeur Sanders
The New York Giants’ Week 17 win, coupled with the Cleveland Browns’ loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, assured that Brian Daboll’s group won’t get the first overall pick. That means they certainly won’t get Shedeur in the 2025 NFL Draft.
It’s now official in that the No. 1 pick will either go to the Browns, Tennessee Titans or New England Patriots. Cleveland must give up on Deshaun Watson, and Tennessee will surely look to replace Will Levis in the offseason.
So at this time, consider the two AFC clubs the front-runners for Sanders. The Patriots already used the No. 3 pick of 2024 on Drake Maye, so they’d likely either use the No. 1 pick on Hunter or deal it to the highest bidder.

Taylor Swift is no longer on tour, but she still chose not to attend the Chiefs game.
Swift concluded her Eras Tour earlier this month before traveling to Kansas City. She had closed out her record-breaking Eras Tour with nine concerts in Toronto and Vancouver.
Swift has been a member of Chiefs Kingdom since she started dating Kelce in the summer of 2023.
Despite rampant speculation throughout town, Swift was not in attendance for Kelce’s homecoming as the Cleveland Browns hosted the Chiefs for their Week 15 meeting.
Many took to social media and called out the pop star for being cowardly and not wanting to face the Dawg Pond.
“Taylor Swift said Thxs but no Thxs to attending a game in Cleveland,” one fan said while posting a GIF of her singing.
