Kelvin Fletcher was forced to desperately reassure his wife Liz after his attempts to colour her roots turned pear-shaped on Thursday.

The former Emmerdale star, 37, took to Instagram Stories to document his attempts to dye Liz’s hair, only to be left grimacing after realising he’d missed several grey patches on her crown.

During the video Kelvin joked he was ‘available’ to colour other women’s hair when Boris allows hairdressers to reopen, and admitted he found the process quite ‘therapeutic.’

Kelvin shared a glimpse of his hilarious attempts to cover up Liz’s roots, flashed an excited expression as he prepared to squirt the colour on her head.

The Strictly Come Dancing champion showed off his best dance moves while the colour set, bopping around to Belinda Carlisle’s Heaven Is A Place on Earth.

Despite Liz admitting that colouring her roots was the ‘worst job ever,’ Kelvin said: ‘If you want your hair doing or your want your roots doing let me know, available, when Boris says so I’ll come and do it.’

While Liz assessed his attempts to colour her roots, scolding him for failing to ‘section away’ parts of her hair the actor admitted he found it quite ‘therapeutic.’

He added: ‘Not too bad actually was the review I got at the end of that, so if anyone’s out there with some roots let me know. I might start a little blog actually.’

Kelvin urged Liz to ‘give the people what they want’ and show off the finished product, as she prepared to dry her hair after washing out the dye.

The star told his fans: ‘Just a few tips for you guys at home if you’re doing your own roots, you’ve got to section it, because what you don’t want is putting the dye on and missing bits, you’ve got to poke through and section it off, that’s what you want to do, and all over the scalp really is.

‘Be generous with that bump thing. I wore Marigolds but I wouldn’t advise that but I couldn’t get my hands in the little plastic thing, they were too big.’

Pictures showed Warren with his hand clasped over his mouth and tears filling up in his eyes as his son posed with the luxury car, and another of him posing in front of his amazing gift.

Kelvin said: ‘They say a picture says a thousand words. Happy 60th Dad. My hero, my friend and my Dad. You’re the kindest soul I know and you’ll put anyone before yourself.’

Kelvin who also posed with brothers Dean and Brayden for a picture with his dad, said his father had ‘always’ wanted a Bentley so it was a pleasure to make his dream come true.

‘We know how much you’ve always dreamed of this car so to see your face yesterday made my heart burst with pride and happiness. You deserve it and we are so lucky to have you’, he said.

Kelvin went on to thank car dealership Baytree Cars for helping to pull off the birthday surprise.

He penned: ‘A special thank you to @baytreecars who helped to make this happen. The best service I’ve ever experienced. #LifeBeginsAt60 #AsSoonAsThePubsOpen.’

Kelvin has a close relationship with father Warren, who was seen breaking down in tears when the TV star won Strictly in 2019.

The TV personality is a massive petrolhead who has taken part in motor racing championships against racing driver Jenson Button.
