One of the contestants on the latest edition of Beat The Chasers was a familiar face to the iconic quizzers
Beat The Chasers took an unusual twist in the latest edition on Sunday October 12 when the Chasers recognised a contestant as a champion quizzer. Not only that but Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha admitted he had beef with him. Brian Craythorne from Belfast was the final contestant to face the imposing brainboxes on the show. As host Bradley Walsh told him “you look like a quizzer to me” the Chasers all began acknowledging their foe.
Paul chimed in: “(He) was runner up in Ireland’s Smartest, a TV show a couple of years ago, but he’s put a lot in work and he’s shot up the rankings, and I’m insanely jealous of how good you are, because a couple of weeks ago, we met in a Zoom room, and he played absolutely brilliantly, and his team thrashed our team. This is personal,” he admitted before Brian even had a chance to answer a question.

“I did think at the time that was a bad move, yeah,” Brian laughed before beginning his game.
Having gone through his cashbuilder he banked £3,000 and had the option of playing two Chasers for that amount, three Chasers for £30,000, four for £50,000 or five for a whopping £100,000.
Despite his respected reputation on the quiz circuit Brian opted for the £30,000 option saying he was still recovering from a question he had stumbled over during the cash builder.
This saw him face Darragh “The Menace” Ennis, Mark “The Beast” Labbett and Anne “The Governess” Hegerty.

His reticence proved fruitful when he easily won with an impressive 9 secodns left on his clock – the equivilent of two questions.
Gracious in defeat Paul personally addressed him. “I’ve got to say, in all honesty, because I don’t want to patronise you, but I don’t think you’ll go down as a Chase legend,” he said.
“But that doesn’t matter, because you’re £30,000 the richer, and as far as I’m concerned, you’re a quiz legend anyway, so good luck.”
Elsewhere on the show there was another big winner when a contestant called Antonia took home a whopping £50,000.
