MAHOMES HINT Patrick Mahomes three-word message to Travis Kelce at Super Bowl has Chiefs fans convinced he’s made retirement decision

PATRICK Mahomes’ reaction to the loss in Super Bowl LIX might hint at Travis Kelce’s future in the NFL.

The Philadelphia Eagles crushed the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the Super Bowl, leaving Kelce to question his retirement,

After the game ended, Mahomes walked down the sideline to acknowledge his teammates, telling each of them “we’ll be back.”

However, when he got to Kelce, his message wasn’t the same.

All Mahomes said to Kelce was “love you brother,” while they hugged, omitting the part about going back to the Super Bowl.

Perhaps Mahomes knows something we don’t about where Kelce’s head is at regarding retirement.

“Forever dawg, you know that. I love you man. I owe you a lot for what you’ve done,” Kelce responded to Mahomes.

Mahomes and Kelce are one of the greatest offensive duos ever, winning two Super Bowls in their seven seasons together.

Kelce has yet to announce whether or not he will return to the Chiefs for the final year of his contract next year.

However, he did make it known that he will take some time to think over his decision.

“I’m gonna take some time to figure it out,” Kelce said.

“And I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back that it’s gonna be a wholehearted decision and I’m not half-a**ing it, and I’m fully here for them.

“I think I can play, it’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.”

Chiefs fans didn’t know what to make of Mahomes’ message to Kelce, and shared their thoughts on a potential retirement on social media.

“The way Patrick didn’t say we’ll be back to Travis,” one fan said.

“He is being nice and letting him decide,” another fan said.

“He knows he’s not coming back to the Super Bowl ever again,” a third fan said.
