BREAKING NEWS: Prince Harry and Meghan slammed for latest move
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have contradicted their claims to desire privacy with their latest action, commentators suggest.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been slammed for “invading their own privacy” by offering a behind-the-scenes look at their trip to Europe. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex travelled to England earlier this month, before staying briefly on a Scottish island and at their holiday home in Portugal.
Meghan shared a glimpse into the trip on social media, posting snaps of the couple’s two children at the Althorp estate, where Princess Diana grew up, as well as photos of Scotland and Portugal. Royal expert Lizzie Robinson suggested the move contradicts Harry and Meghan’s insistence on wanting a private life and the duke’s safety concerns for his family, however.
She told ITV’s Talking Royals podcast: “I thought how hard they have worked to protect their privacy around their trip to the UK, and then to post those series of photos, are they almost sort of invading their own privacy?”
Host Charlene White added: “The picture in Portugal, that is very much showing where they have been on holiday and a lot of the papers have talked about them having possibly bought a holiday home.
“It’s almost giving an idea of exactly where in Europe, where in Portugal they frequent.”
ITV’s Royal Editor Chris Ship then chimed in: “I’d say if they have bought a holiday home, and you are able to reverse Google search that image of that restaurant, then that’s probably the mistake. If you’re worried about your privacy, don’t share where that restaurant was.”
Other photos in the social media carousel included one of Meghan on a sun lounger by a pool, with a man resembling Harry’s uncle Earl Spencer in the background, and another that appeared to show Harry, Archie and Lilibet carrying flowers to Princess Diana’s grave.
The couple regularly feature images of their children in social media posts, but always obscure their faces or show the back of their heads.
During their trip to the UK, the duke and duchess took their children to see the King for the first time in four years at his Highgrove home.
Meghan, Archie and Lilibet were prevented from travelling with Harry on July 6 by security issues, but it appeared concerns were mitigated to allow them to make the journey later that week.
The duke has faced a protracted legal battle with the Home Office over the security arrangements for him and his family while in the UK after his level of protection changed when he stepped down as a working royal in 2020.
