With the 2025 WNBA season almost a month away, Sophie Cunningham is doing everything she can to enjoy her last few weeks off.
Cunningham has played for the Phoenix Mercury since 2019. She averaged 8.4 points per game on 37.8 percent shooting from downtown during the 2024 season. Despite coming off a solid campaign, she was traded to the Indiana Fever earlier this offseason.
It’s unclear what type of role Cunningham will have in Indiana. Most fans expect her to come off the bench. She already told The Spun that she’ll be adaptable.
“When you’re a pro, it’s all about adjusting,” Cunningham said. “If you can’t do that, you won’t be in the league for long. It’s all about building that chemistry and rhythm. Once you find that, you’ll know your role. When you have people willing to put their egos aside, I think it’s quite easy to settle in. I can shoot the ball well, but what I need to do is work hard and be myself.”

What won’t change for Cunningham is the fact that she goes viral every time she posts new content on Instagram.
On Thursday night, Cunningham shared a few beach photos with her fans. To the surprise of absolutely no one, she received an awful lot of compliments.
“Sophie the fever Barbie,” one fan said.
“Absolute goddess,” another fan commented. “Legit perfection!”
“Stunning beauty,” an Instagram user wrote.
“You’re the WNBA’s Barbie,” a fourth fan added.
Cunningham’s post received over 10,000 likes in just 12 hours. It’s pretty clear she remains a fan favorite.
Fans will be looking forward to Cunningham’s pregame outfits this season. She has already teased a few exciting looks.
“My outfits are going to be fun and spicy. We have a lot of eyes on our game. I’ll continue to grow my brand with the platform I’ve been given. I’m proud to represent companies like Quest. So when I’m coming in with spicy outfits, I’m sure Quest will be represented in a couple of them.”
The Fever will begin their 2025 season on May 17.
