The family of beloved actress Ananya Raj have confirmed the beloved actress has died at the age of 27. Although she died on July 15, they have only released an official statement now. In a heartbreaking post on the star’s official Instagram page they shared an image with the words: “This is Ananya’s family. With great pain, we have to announce that Ananya passed away in the wee hours of the 15th of July. She passed away peacefully in her sleep.
For over a year, she was going through physical and mental discomfort, and she fought like a warrior to overcome them. She was a strong-spirited girl and lived like a queen. Bachcha, your absence will be dearly felt. We urge all of you to pray for her soul. In these trying times, we wish to maintain privacy and quietude.” The star, who began her screen career in 2016, was best known for her roles in films such as 2016’s 7 Hours to Go, 2017’s The Final Exit and 2019’s Ghost.

She also stepped into South Indian cinema and in 2022, she played Liza in the Telugu suspense thriller Thaggede Le directed by Srinivas Raju. At the time of her death she was filming the TV show High Dose helmed by the visionary director Dilip Vasudev.
Alongside her movie roles she was a familiar face in music videos and featured in several projects linked to major labels such as T-Series, Zee Music and Times Music.
Tributes flooded in as fans and friends reacted to the tragic news. Responding to the family’s post, one person wrote: “This is shocking and heartbreaking. May you find peace wherever you are.”

Another added: “A strange kind of feeling. I didn’t know her earlier; I just came to know about this today. My perspective towards life is changing drastically, seeing all these things. You really don’t need to worry about the future because that future may not exist. Trying to figure out the essence of this life. Certainly, it’s not about achieving materialistic things because that will not last forever. It’s definitely the god himself to know about. Time is passing rapidly in the blink of eyes may God bless everyone and RIP Ananya.”

A third chimed in: “Rest In Peace my dear friend, shocked and sad to know this. Om Sai Ram.”

Meanwhile, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) shared a tribute writing: “[We express our] deepest condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones. We pray that the departed soul finds eternal peace and that her family receives the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss. Ananya Raj will always be remembered. Her journey may have ended, but her memories will live on forever.”
