BREAKING NEWS: Andrea Mitchell, A Respected Face On MSNBC For Nearly Two Decades, Makes A Heartfelt EXIT From Her Show AFTER 17 YEARS, LEAVING Viewers And Colleagues EMOTIONAL.

MSNBC Andrea Mitchell’s show Andrea Mitchell Reports is reportedly coming to an end on February 7 after almost two decades and the anchor has spoken out
MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell has left her show on the network after 17 years.
The TV news reporter is ending her show, Andrea Mitchell Reports, and the last day is reported to be Friday, February 7. Andrea has not yet confirmed if tomorrow is her last day but she did disclose in October 2024 that she had plans to end her MSNBC program. She also stated she had planned to depart following the presidential inauguration in January. However, she will remain as NBC News’ Chief Washington Correspondent and Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent as will continue working with MSNBC.
“In my heart and soul, I am first and foremost a reporter and a storyteller,” Andrea said on her show at the time. “After 16 years of being in the anchor chair every day, I want time to do more of what I love the most.”
She continued, “Still with NBC News and at MSNBC. Still as Chief Washington and Foreign Affairs Correspondent. Just not on a schedule of a daily show. From primaries, debates, elections and inaugurals here at home to breaking news around the globe, my goal will continue as it has always been to bring you, our viewers, the major newsmakers shaping our country and the world right here on MSNBC.”

Andrea’s MSNBC show, Andrea Mitchell reports, launched in 2008
The 78-year-old continued to say she is waiting until after the presidential inauguration to detail more about “about all of our plans, exciting new plans,” and to show viewers her “reporting in new ways right here across all of NBC News and MSNBC for many years to come.”
MSNBC also has yet to say what will be replacing Andrea’s show and time slot as she stepped down. Andrea Mitchell Reports was the longest-running show in the network’s daytime lineup. Andrea has spent over five decades at NBC News, starting in 1978. She has covered every US presidential campaign since the 1980 as well as significant global and domestics events.
At the time Andrea shared her announcement in October, NBC News leadership had written a memo to staff about her transition per The Hill.
“Andrea remains one of the country’s foremost and most trusted experts on foreign policy and domestic politics,” the company’s memo read. “Her contributions to NBC News over the last 46 years have been invaluable to the network, and we are so pleased that she will remain an essential part of the News Group for years to come.”
Andrea’s show exit comes as Chuck Todd announced last Friday on the January 31 that he was leaving NBC after nearly 20 years.
Andrea Mitchell is still staying with NBC and MSBNC despite ending her show

“Today is my last day at NBC,” Chuck said in a Jan. 31 morning memo to colleagues per E! News. “There’s never a perfect time to leave a place that’s been a professional home for so long, but I’m pretty excited about a few new projects that are on the cusp of going from ‘pie in the sky’ to ‘near reality.'”
The former Meet the Press moderator also shared he is also taking his ChuckToddcast podcast with him in his departure and it will have a “new home” soon.
“Thank you, NBC,” Chuck continued. “Stay tuned for an announcement about its new home soon. Needless to say, I do plan to continue to share my reporting and unique perspective of covering politics with data and history as important baselines in understanding where we were, where we are and where we’re going.”
