Al Roker of Today fame recently took time on the show to make a surprising baby announcement. The news came out with a gender reveal. Notably, the reveal was also shared on social media.

Al Roker Had Some Big News To Share At The Today Show’s Plaza

Roker is famously known as a weatherman, but he’s had many roles on Today. Notably, he shares co-hosting duties on 3rd Hour Today.

Recently, Roker made a surprising announcement while speaking with fans outside the main studio within the Today Plaza. A clip of the reveal was notably shared on social media by Today‘s Instagram page.

Roker encountered a husband and wife outside who were holding up a sign. As it read, “Hey Al, what’s the storkcast?”

The couple was about to welcome a new baby. The two notably wanted Roker’s help for the big gender reveal.

Handing Roker an envelope, the two shared they did not already know what the baby’s gender would be. The message inside the envelope was the answer, written from the baby’s perspective.

Roker opened up the envelope and shared, “I’m a boy! Congratulations!” The couple already appeared to have a son who was with them.

The Couple Themselves Shared A Longer Version Of The Clip

The little boy, identified as “Baby Grant,” appeared to be happy about his new brother. As Roker shared, “And the little guy is very happy about it!”

The post’s caption continued to commend the couple over the happy news. As it shared, “Bringing you the weather AND gender reveals. Congratulations to this sweet family that wanted to share their moment live on the TODAY Plaza!”

Notably, the couple themselves also appeared to share a clip of the footage on their own social media. As they wrote, “Al Roker reported the STORKCAST this morning, baby #2 is on the way!”

The video appeared to be recorded from the family’s own television. In the full clip, Roker also made a joke about whether the new big brother would still be happy about the news in nine months.

With the clip released on social media, fans were also able to congratulate the couple over the new addition to their family. A few shared that they thought the couple’s idea for a gender reveal was creative.
