Hoda, 59, sat down with co-host Jenna Bush Hager to chat about the day’s headlines with Justin.
A new documentary on Lifetime featuring Wendy Williams was the topic of the day.
Justin kicked things off with that, and Hoda chimed in with her thoughts on it.
“Okay, Justin, I have to tell you I did see some of this Wendy Williams documentary, just a clip, and it made me sad to watch it. It’s just heartbreaking, because we’ve known Wendy for many years.
She added that it’s “hard to watch,” seeing Wendy in her “current state.”
Wendy was hospitalized in May 2023 after exhibiting erratic behavior.
Her show had been canceled just the year prior in 2022.
The documentary film has inspired mixed reactions across Wendy’s fanbase.
Fans have shared similar reactions to the content to Hoda.
“Oh no. I’m so saddened by this,” one person reacted, as another responded, “This is so messed up.”
A third noted, “Just looking at the trailer, I don’t think I can watch this.”

“This looks sad and not like something Wendy would approve,” someone else posted. “Unless this is her desperate cry for help.”
And one person lamented, “She does not look her best at all. People need to give her time to heal from whatever is going on.”
It doesn’t seem that the documentary is inspiring faith in Wendy’s fanbase that it will paint the host in the best light.
SPILL THE TEA
Recently, Hoda spoke to actor and rapper Donald Glover about potential new music.
Donald stopped by the Today Show to chat about the series remake of Mr & Mrs Smith he appears in alongside co-star Maya Erskine.
Hoda conducted the interview and lead the pair through questions about what the new series is like and the inspirations behind each actor’s performance.
But there was something else entirely that the 59-year-old wanted to know more about.
“I’ve gotta ask you before you go about your music,” Hoda said to Donald before the interview drew to a close.
“What’s happening with your music?” she asked pointedly.
“Listen right now, it’s gonna help us with the streams,” he added.
“Childish Gambino,” Hoda pressed, referring to the actor’s rap persona.
“Is there going to be some new stuff?” she asked.
“I’m definitely in the studio. I don’t know. I really wish I could tell you guys what and when stuff is happening, but I like surprises,” Donald admitted.
“I feel like that’s what makes things feel good, but I can’t say,” he concluded.
HELPING HODA
Recently, Hoda seemed to be having some health issues during Thursday’s episode of Today.
The 59-year-old revealed she didn’t have time to visit a doctor before coming to work.
On Thursday, Hoda leaned on the anchor desk and told Jenna she thought she had a contact stuck in her eye.
The Today personality admitted she couldn’t recall taking it out last night and now can’t find it.
Hoda looked uncomfortable as she dug into her eye to try to find the lost lens.
Concerned, Jenna asked if it was a “medical emergency.”
“It feels like it’s in there,” Hoda insisted. “I’m not kidding.”
Jenna began freaking out over her co-star’s issue and insisted it “seems like an emergency.”
“Also, how can you read,” she then asked her friend after realizing the teleprompter was likely difficult for her to see.
