Jake Paul’s Next Opponent Revealed as Reason for Anthony Joshua Collapse Emerges
A date and an opponent has been set for Jake Paul’s next fight.
Jake Paul won’t fight Anthony Joshua as his next opponent has been announced.
Paul hasn’t fought since his big win over ex-world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. last June.
He scored a points victory over Chavez Jr., who was subsequently arrested over alleged cartel ties before being deported to Mexico.
‘The Problem Child’ had been linked with a super-fight against former world heavyweight champion Joshua, with promoter Eddie Hearn holding talks with Most Valuable Promotions chief Nakisa Bidarian.

But talks between Paul and Joshua collapsed over ‘network issues’.
That’s according to Mike Coppinger, who has also revealed that the 28-year-old will instead face Gervonta Davis next.
Paul vs. Davis is set to take place on November 15 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
It will be an exhibition bout and will air on Netflix, who distributed Paul’s fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson.

WBA lightweight world champion Davis last fought when he drew with Lamont Roach Jr. in a controversial fight last May.
In the ninth round of their championship clash, Davis took a knee, but the referee did not rule it a knockdown.
‘Tank’ is unbeaten in 31 professional fights, having won 30 of his pro contests.

He boasts victories over Ryan Garcia, Yuriorkis Gamboa and Leo Santa Cruz to name but a few.
The 30-year-old, who hails from Baltimore, is a knockout artist, having won 28 of his fights inside the distance.

It’s unclear what weight Paul vs. Davis will be contested at given the stark weight difference between the boxing stars.

Paul’s last fight took place at the cruiserweight limit of 200lbs. He tipped the scales at 199.4lbs against Chavez Jr, while Davis defended his 135lbs world title in his last appearance.
