For new anime fans, Code Geass is the perfect watch, even better than the mainstream titles like Attack on Titan or the Big Three anime.
SUMMARY
The Big Three anime or Attack on Titan are the first choices of new fans when they begin their anime watching journey due to their popularity and prominence.
Most fans are sleeping on Code Geass, which is one of the best beginner-friendly anime that offers everything from great characters to an engaging narrative.
Code Geass is nearly perfect; however, there are some questionable elements that fans should be warned of before they direct their attention to the anime.
As new fans enter the anime sphere and begin to explore the wide range of series available, it becomes hard to decide what to watch. The natural response is to check out popular or critically acclaimed titles, and mainstream anime like Attack on Titan or the Big Three anime stand out first and foremost. However, an anime that should get more attention from new fans is Code Geass.

While the length of the Big Three anime can be quite intimidating and Attack on Titan’s gradual progression can be difficult to get into, Code Geass has many great elements that make it stand out. Let’s explore what makes Code Geass a perfect anime for beginners, and some questionable aspects that fans should be wary of.
New fans should direct their attention to Code Geass
There’s a long list of reasons that make Code Geass the perfect anime to watch early on before you find yourself entrenched in the world of anime. The lore and the story are interesting and packed with great action sequences. The details about the colossal mecha and the world are explained thoroughly, and there’s a great set-up that presents an engaging conflict of interests between the central characters.

The protagonist, Lelouch Lamperouge, is one of the best-written anime characters of all time. While most mainstream anime struggle to satisfy fans with their conclusions, Code Geass doesn’t have that problem. And even if you find yourself disappointed with how things end, there’s an alternate ending as well.
Aside from the engaging narrative and great characters, there are only two seasons that can easily be watched compared to other anime that have multiple seasons. Before your expectations reach an unattainable high, here are some aspects of the anime that are either difficult to get into or outright questionable.

Code Geass is one of the best anime to start your anime-watching journey with. However, there are undeniably some aspects of it that could be a little off-putting. Starting with the complexity of the series, Code Geass has a great build-up and the first season of the series provides all the necessary exposition fans need to get accustomed to the series.
However, the mecha paired up with the politics and the plot twists could get a bit too complex especially if someone is not a fan of heavily action-oriented series. Although, in the anime’s defense, the pay-off is excellent and feels satisfactory. The other aspect that can make it difficult for fans to like it is the fan service.

Code Geass doesn’t shy away from fan service and generously incorporates it wherever and whenever. Except for these two issues, it is undoubtedly one of the best anime whether you just want something entertaining and thrilling or you want to experience a show that compels you to think.
