Ella Forster in Emmerdale could have a secret brother who’s helping her target Chas Dingle, according to beady-eyed fans of the ITV soap.

After Wednesday night’s episode saw the harassment from Ella towards Chas and her partner, Ella’s ex, Liam Cavanagh escalate, one theory has now suggested there could be more to the hate campaign. As fans of the soap are convinced Ella is being set up by another villager, a good old fashioned soap sibling twist could be in-store.

On Wednesday we saw Liam report Ella to the police as she continued to message and call him and the surgery where he worked, before she also emailed Belle Dingle to cancel his and Chas’ wedding. Things got scary when it was revealed Ella was watching them, and a brick was thrown through the window of the pub.

With events on Thursday set to turn even darker, a new theory suggests Ella isn’t being set up at all and that, instead, she is working with someone. Fans wondered if John Sugden could be in cahoots with Ella because of their shared drama with Chas.

Some fans now think there’s more to it, though and that the pair could secretly be related. One theory is that John is the secret brother of Ella, and the pair are helping each other to get back at Chas and Liam.

Ella hates Chas because Liam chose Chas over her, and she still loves him. Bitter about their romance and then their engagement, she’s clearly out to ruin their lives – unless of course it really isn’t her.

As for John, he’s bitter about Chas failing to accept him as the boyfriend of her son Aaron Dingle. She’s made it clear she’s not keen, so some fans believe John either caused Chas’ overdose to hurt her or to play the hero.

John is the brother of Victoria and it’s not been suggested he has other siblings, while Ella had mentioned having a brother when she first joined the show. This hasn’t stopped fans from suggesting that the pair could secretly be brother and sister though, teaming up to cause carnage.

One viewer said: “You never can tell it just might be that John is Ella’s brother, and both are doing this,” with others agreeing. Meanwhile some fans agreed they were teaming up but did not agree with the sibling theory.

A theory online read: “Something is seriously off with these two. I get a strong feeling that they’re conspiring, or that they’re linked to each other somehow, beyond their roles at the surgery.”

On Thursday there’s horrifying twists and turns and one character is in grave danger – but are there multiple exits on the way? Our soap source revealed: “Ella shows up determined to have her say with Liam, but when Mandy Dingle refuses to let her she threatens her with a knife.

“Things only escalate when Liam shows up, leading to a chase in the woods. It gets pretty scary for one moment when Ella acts out, and Liam’s left injured.

“She fears she’s killed him and it’s clear there’s no coming back from this.” Whether Liam survives and Ella exits remains to be seen.
