A secret threatened to tear two characters apart on Coronation Street on Friday night.
Something about Daisy Midgeley’s past came back to haunt her in a tearful showdown with her stepmother Jenny Connor in the latest episode. It led to her making a big decision that will lead to new twists on the way ahead of actress Charlotte Jordan bowing out of the ITV soap.
Things reached a breaking point for Jenny and her stepdaughter Daisy on Friday and soon accusations were flying, and hurtful comments were made. Jenny faced tough questions after she was meant to keep her eye on Daisy’s young stepson Bertie, and he ended up wandering off.
Bertie almost drowned when he fell into a neighbour’s hot tub, with Daisy then bringing up the tragic death of Jenny’s young son 12 years earlier. The tot drowned in a paddling pool and it wasn’t until Friday night that a shocking truth came out.
Daisy was always led to believe Tom had drowned after Jenny had left him unattended, giving her more ammunition to slam her over Bertie before claiming she was not fit to be a mother. Jenny soon revealed a secret from their past though.

Jenny claimed it was Daisy who was meant to have been watching her stepbrother in the pool while Jenny popped into the house. When Jenny returned, Daisy had not kept an eye on him and the tragic drowning happened.
Daisy argued back as Jenny told her this on Friday, saying she had not been told to watch her brother and it was her fault instead. But Jenny claimed she did tell Daisy to watch her sibling for just two minutes, but she was distracted by the boy next door she fancied.
The pair got into a devastating row over the past and present, before Jenny told Daisy she blamed her for the loss of her child. Not only that but she made a sickening comment about it being a good thing she’d recently miscarried her baby.
With that Daisy fled in tears and made a mystery phone call, asking for help. She told the caller: “Listen, I need your help with something.”

Christina will return to help Daisy(Image: ITV)
We know that Daisy is leaving the show in the coming months, and it seems the comments and secrets revealed on Friday could tear Jenny and Daisy apart for good. There’s also spoilers revealing a sick plot between Daisy and her returning mother Christina Boyd, where Jenny will be tricked.
Daisy has yet to tell Jenny she knows all about her secret £60,000 windfall that she’s not disclosed to her amid them both being in debt to Carla Connor. It’s not clear if Daisy is plotting against Jenny now for the money or just for the hurtful comments she made, but either way it will clearly not end well.
So might Daisy burn all her bridges with Jenny and be forced to exit Weatherfield for good? Surely there’s no coming back given Daisy and Christina are about to catfish her stepmother!
