According to a One Piece theory, Eiichiro Oda might have given a major hint about Nico Robin’s true heritage during her flashback of Ohara.
SUMMARY
Nico Robin has been one of the most crucial characters in One Piece.
However her true heritage has been a mystery that fans have been trying to figure out.
According to a One Piece theory, Nico Robin is part Lunarian and Eiichiro Oda might have been already revealed it.
The archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece, Nico Robin has been a crucial member of the crew for a long time. She has proven herself useful in every kind of situation and works as one of the sensible minds within the Straw Hat Pirates. However, she also helps with the battle and fighting part of the journey, which is quite crucial considering the competition they have.

Time and time again, Nico Robin has proved that she is capable enough to take care of herself against some of the most dangerous characters of One Piece. From Hammond in Fish-Man Island to Black Maria in Wano, Robin has fought many worthy opponents and has come out strong, majorly because of her Devil Fruit, which recently was awakened by the One Piece character.
Her Devil Fruit awakening was truly breathtaking, but it also raised many questions about her identity and her importance in the One Piece narrative. While Eiichiro Oda has yet to answer these questions, a theory speculates that Nico Robin might be half Lunarian, and it was already hinted at by Oda when he showed Robin’s past on Ohara.
The demonic awakening of Nico Robin’s Devil Fruit
One of the most difficult opponents that Nico Robin faced in One Piece was Black Maria, one of the Tobiroppo of the Beast Pirates. She was one of the strongest characters in Wano, and Robin had to unleash her full potential and more to match up against her. During her duel with Black Maria, Robin brought out a new Devil Fruit technique called Demonio Fleur.
Demonio Fleur was quite similar to Gigante Fleur in terms of size, but her physical stature also manifested a pair of bat-like wings, shaded skin, fangs, and horns, making her look like an actual devil. This form was so terrifying that it scared Black Maria to the core. Not only that, it was also a reference to her moniker, “the Devil Child,” which she gained when she was a kid.

Demonio Fleur is Nico Robin’s strongest appearance, and although Eiichiro Oda has not confirmed it, the Demonio Fleur feels like a Devil Fruit awakening. This is because the amount of power it gives Nico Robin is unprecedented, and just like any other Devil Fruit awakening in One Piece, it takes a heavy toll on her body.
Nico Robin’s demonic awakening hints at her true heritage in One Piece
While it has been confirmed that Nico Robin hails from the island of Ohara, her true heritage is still one of the biggest mysteries in One Piece. This is because Oda has not given many details about Nico Robin’s parents. However, according to a theory posted by u/TheKeyIs27 on Reddit, there is a big chance that Nico Robin might be half Lunarian.

According to the One Piece theory, Oda hinted at Robin being Lunarian during her flashback of her mother, Nico Olvia, back at Ohara. In the story, Nico Olvia is obsessed with finding out the details about the Void Century. Not only that, Nico Olvia has silver-white hair and brown skin just like the Lunarians. The only thing missing are the wings on the back.
These speculations about Olvia being a Lunarian get more solid after looking at her wanted poster, which features fire in the back just like the Lunarians in One Piece. All of these hints point out that Olvia and Nico Robin both are part Lunarians, and that is why they are so interested in the history of the world in One Piece because they want to find out what happened to their race.
