Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had to watch the NFL playoffs from the hospital over the weekend, with his wife giving birth to their third child.
The Mahomes family welcomed a baby girl named Golden Raye during the Chiefs’ playoff bye, which meant that the quarterback was still very busy.
“Brittany crushed it,” he told reporters in a press conference this week (H/T Page Six), adding that it was fun to see how his two other children reacted to the arrival of their new little sister.
“It’s been cool to welcome another baby girl to the family and see how my other kids reacted to her and have a baby sister and stuff like that,” he said. “So, it’s been a lot of fun.”
While the focus was on his wife and their incoming bairn, Mahomes was still keen on the playoff action taking place around the league.
“It was cool that football was on TV while I was in the hospital,” he noted. “So, I was able to watch a little bit.”
Patrick Mahomes Going For No. 3 On The Field Now
Patrick and Brittany announced the arrival of their newborn in a heartwarming Instagram post, sharing a black and white photo of them holding her feet.
The quarterback and his team had the privilege of watching from afar after going 15-2 and earning a postseason bye. They will return to the field on Saturday against the Houston Texans, whom they will host at Arrowhead.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs are in the hunt for a third successive Super Bowl, which would cement their legacy as the football dynasty of the current era.
While they hardly played at their best during the regular season, Kansas City proved time and time again that they know how to win football games.

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has emerged as one of the most prominent figures in women’s basketball. Her outstanding achievements and dominant performances on the court have boosted her confidence in her skills. However, this confidence has recently caused her some trouble, as NBA fans criticized her for a recent statement she made.
In a recent episode of the “Roommates” show, Wilson stunned both the NBA and WNBA by claiming that she could defeat New York Knicks star Josh Hart in a one-on-one matchup. Additionally, she predicted that the final score would be 11-8.
“Score would be 11-8, me. I’m not saying you gonna go scoreless, 8 to 11 is pretty solid. So, what do you think it’ll be, Josh?” Wilson said.
Although Josh and Wilson both had a good laugh during their conversation, Wilson’s comment stirred up the basketball community. “She’d lose 11-0 w him only playing w his offhand,” one fan said.
