Emmerdale fans were very deeply moved after a special episode dedicated entirely to April and her heart-breaking journey. The character, played by Amelia Flanagan, has been through a turbulent time since running away from home on Christmas Day. In last night’s episode, we saw an unfiltered sneak peek at her struggles while she was away, and her performance surprised us.
Amelia’s Father Shares Proud Post
The powerful storyline saw April take refuge in a squat, witness the brutal stabbing of her new friend Bex, and experience the devastating trauma of giving birth to a stillborn baby in a public toilet. The raw and emotional performance won over us and brought her many praises. But what topped it all was when Amelia’s father took to X to share how proud he was of his daughter’s incredible performance.
EM/ April’s incredible performance
Following the episode, Amelia’s dad shared a heartfelt post on X, writing, “Couldn’t be prouder of Amelia. She worked so hard on this. 11 years ago when our little 5-year-old got the job, we could never have dreamed that one day she’d be trusted with her own episode. I’m the proudest dad ever right now!” As soon as the beautiful post went live, fans chimed in with positive reactions.
Amelia’s Incredible Performance
One fan, Zoe wrote, “She did amazing. What an episode brilliantly done and heartbreakingly also great work, Amelia.” Another one named Kristy added to this, “She broke my heart in tonight’s episode. Even some adults would struggle with pulling this off but she completely nailed it! She is an absolute shining star.”
Soon, Amelia’s co-star, Michael Parr, expressed his pride, saying, “She was always such a brilliant child actress. But she’s gone straight into being a really superb actress. I’m so chuffed for her; she’s brilliant.”
EM/ Amelia and her siblings
However, Amelia isn’t the only talented actor in her family. Her twin siblings, William and Isabella are also making their mark in the soap world. The duo is currently starring in Coronation Street where they are playing the roles of Joseph Brown and Hope Stape. It will be interesting to see what incredible performance comes from Amelia next. Until then, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Emmerdale updates.
