SUMMARY
Shanks and Mihawk’s rivalry is one of the most talked about topics among One Piece fans.
Eiichiro Oda recently disclosed Shanks’ greatest feat in One Piece putting him on par with Gol D. Roger.

The rivalries between different One Piece characters are some of the most discussed topics among the fans of the series. Among all the rivalries, the one that is probably talked about the most is Shanks vs. Mihawk. While one is currently the Strongest Emperor of the Sea, another holds the title of being the Strongest Swordsman in the One Piece world.

The two are literal powerhouses, but their characters have been a mystery ever since the series started. From their past battles to their individual storylines, almost everything has been hidden by Eiichiro Oda, but there is one thing that he recently revealed about Shanks, which might be his greatest feat in One Piece. This feat involves his greatest attack, the Divine Departure.
The One Piece manga creator recently disclosed that although Divine Departure is Gol D. Roger’s attack, Shanks was able to copy it to the core, which is next to impossible. However, by revealing this, Oda has confirmed that Shanks’ rival Mihawk is a literal monster for being able to survive such attacks and remain on par with them.
Shanks’ greatest feat in One Piece
Shanks is one of the greatest characters in One Piece who has started making his presence felt since the final saga started. Thus, fans have been curious about him and his strength, which will prove to be a big plot development in One Piece’s future. Recently, during the Q&A of SBS Volume 110, Oda was asked about Shanks’s attack, Divine Departure, that took down Eustass Kid.
As the attack originally belonged to his former mentor, Gol D. Roger, fans wanted to know whether Roger taught him personally or Shanks learned it himself. The manga creator pointed out that Shanks remembered it because he always looked up to his former captain in One Piece. He not only remembered the attack but also managed to replicate it at a young age.

Eiichiro Oda even revealed that Divine Departure is something that no one from Roger’s crew could have imitated, which makes Shanks a powerhouse. This also proves that Shanks’ Haki is almost on par with Gol D. Roger’s, which brings him to the level of the Pirate King of One Piece.
Shanks’ feat makes Mihawk look like a monster
While Shanks’ feat in copying Roger’s attack to the core makes him a powerful individual, it also proves that Mihawk might be on his level or maybe even more. As fans know, Mihawk was Shanks’ rival for the longest time, and the two One Piece characters were always battling it out to see who was stronger, but the results of their fights were never revealed.

However, the fact that Mihawk was not only able to survive those attacks but come out of those battles without a single scar proves that he is a force to be reckoned with. The only other One Piece character who is known to have no scar on his entire body is probably Gol D. Roger. Thus, confirming that along with Shanks, Mihawk is also on the same level as Roger.
These feats make it understandable why One Piece fans have been eagerly waiting for Oda to reveal more about the battles between Mihawk and Shanks or even draw them within the manga. This way fans will get to see two of the strongest characters in One Piece showcase their infinite amount of strengths and become even more popular.
