CORONATION STREET ROCKED: Bethany Platt’s UNEXPECTED RETURN to Coronation Street has left fans buzzing with excitement

Coronation Street fans will be left stunned as Bethany Platt (played by Lucy Fallon) makes a dramatic return to the cobbles a year after her mysterious disappearance last year. Soap viewers will see Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) led to an interview room at a police station, where he finds Bethany. She explains that she had quit her job in London, borrowed her boss’s car without permission, and drove up to Manchester only to find herself accused of car theft. Now, all eyes are on Kit to see whether he can help Bethany get out of trouble. Meanwhile, Bethany confides in Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) that she had quit her job before she was pushed, confirming that she is back on the street for good.
Fallon was spotted back on set in July, sparking rumours of an explosive new storyline and leaving viewers thrilled at the surprise comeback. The 27-year-old actress is returning from maternity leave, having left in February to give birth to her second child, daughter Nancy Margaret. Sharing her excitement on Instagram, Lucy posed for a photo in her dressing room, writing: “And just like that she’s back.”
A Coronation Street spokesperson confirmed at the time: “Lucy will be returning to filming in the summer after maternity leave, as always planned, and Bethany will be back on screen in October.” Bethany’s return promises more drama for the Street. Before her exit, she had come back on New Year’s Eve 2023, quickly reigniting her romance with ex Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). But her happiness was short-lived.
The young mum faced her abuser, Nathan Curtis (Christopher Parker), after his release from prison and later underwent botched cosmetic surgery in Turkey. The risky procedure left her battling sepsis and in need of a permanent stoma bag. Just as things seemed to be looking up, Daniel proposed on Christmas Day, and Bethany said yes, unaware that his ex Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) had discovered she was pregnant. Daniel might be the father after a one-night stand.
With the truth inevitably coming out, Bethany once again packed her bags, leaving Daniel behind and returning to London to start fresh. Now, a year later, her return to Weatherfield promises more twists and turns for the residents of Coronation Street.
